I completely agree with those saying the next Diablo needs an actual economy. As it is right now, unless you're a gambler, gold is essentially worthless.
I also agree with mounts. Nearly every MMORPG has them now, in one form or another. Of course, this would only be if Diablo 3 happened to go down a similar path to World of Warcraft, TES: Oblivion, or Guild Wars.
And call me cheesy, but one thing I would love to see in Diablo 3 is the ability to customize your armor. I remember back when I played Neverwinter Nights, your character could gain the ability somehow (a familiar's spell or something, I think) to actually change the physical appearance of your armor. Left arm, right arm, collar, etc., it didn't matter; you could customize it the way you wanted, using the (many) options the game gave you.
Economy - Yes
Mounts - No I like my teleport and waypoints
Custom armor - yes, I really liked Guild Wars because you could dye your armor different colors and mix the dyes to create your own and you could customize your cape.

Dream as if you'll live forever, and live as if you'll die today. "James Dean"
I had 2 dueling chars who could kill anyone in the game and one who could not be touched (glitch)
1) Hammerdin with godly gear and could rape almost anyone except some far caster like sorc's or trapsins
2) Wind Druid, raped anyone with any elemental damage and could only be killed by a skilled chargedin....
and the third was a Blizz ice orb sorc with a aura act 2 merc with stacked auras. I could teleport through Hell chaos and not even see anyone because the auras would kill them so fast...... was not fun at all and deleted the character but it was funny to have someone talk trash and then duel me and die as soon as I walked out of town =)
also, light sorc's are weaksauce, use a fire sorc or don't use a sorc at all, for dueling at least.

So far as I've seen (havn't read all 92 pages, I need to sleep sometime) about everything has been covered, I'd only add one thing. I'd really like to see the return of Rare items having chances of better stats than uniques, whats the point of character customisation if everyone is wearing the exact same items? Also, no more end all builds (Hammers and Smiters).
thats actually a really good idea, but the thing was that rare weapons could be better than uniques they were just way to "rare" lol, I never found anything really better than a good unique and I played hours upon hours of D2, but I did see some weapons and sheilds and stuff that people had found that were more godlike than any unique.

i did pay to see the movie, i did buy the DVD, i did buy the graphic novel, 300 spartan warriors did fight at the battle of Thermopylae, (along with 500 Mantineans, 500 Tegeans, 120 Arcadian Orchomenos, 1,000 Other Arcadians, 400 Corinthians, 200 Phlians, 80 Mycenaeans, 700 Thespians, 400 Thebans, 1,000 Phocians, 13 Opuntian Locrians and it is also reported a further 900 Helots (Spartan serfs) were also invloved).
so there is some historic accuracy, i didnt say it was 100% fact, i just said it was historic, like Braveheart, there is some historic merit to it, but most of it is actually from Blind Harry's Poem "A Wallace"
The movie itself is actually very accurate to historic records and the other warriors were to guard the back entrance at hell's pass (if thats what it was called) They used the Phalanx and killed thousands of the Persians historically.
and I love that movie

PvP should be entirely different there should be an arena or something where there are teams or 1v1 and have lvl restrictions. Hopefully they have more than 8 per game.

how about this
you can only reach other places by manual travel - ie, walking there.
so, even though there is no acts and only places in the waypoint, you can't actually reach a new area that you're not supposed to be in yet because you have to get their manually thus completing the quests which you would need in the first place
also, if all the areas were linked through a physical terrain then they could introduce a different type of map (larger "sanctuary" map), instead of a minimap.. or perhaps a combination of the two?
i guess the minimap/sanctuary map would travel outwards from town in all directions, no linear pathways from one place to another
im probably making no sense at all...
no that actually sounds very cool except you would need to have waypoints and tp's =) but having to run to get to the next area would be awesome but you should be point in the general direction of where you need to go first such as by making 8 exits or so out of the starting town and making each exit a different skill lvl requirement of monsters outside so you know which exit to take.
dunno if I make any sense either lol

Why though? I never understood why they changed it? It's not like you have any less health. You have the same... just more room to increase it, if you don't mind using a rejuve or a few cheep health pots.
By not automatically filling it, people can notice the difference and change their play tactics accordingly. If they get BO'ed and it only increases their life by a small amount, they should be aware of it so they don't do anything risky.
In contrast, if they get a HUGE BO, they might be inclined to play a bit more aggressively because they can SEE that they have a lot of health.
And finally, many people don't notice and don't even check their stats when they get BO'ed. Changing it back so people can SEE the significant change will cause party members to give their appreciation and recognition to the Barb who helped them out so much with such a great BO. After all, a good BO barb takes a lot of expense and the sacrifice of other combat skills, so in my opinion, a little bit of recognition and thanks for the player would not be uncalled for.
it should fill your life to same percentage after the BO, most people will noticed that they are or aren't BO'ed and usually whine if they aren't and give thanks when they are most people would probably just think they got hit when BO'ed because it would appear as reduced health. No need to change they way life is added but the highest buff should not be overwritten.

ya damn teleport ruins that idea especially if they have an item like enigma again. D3 should step up the PvP aspect and put more importance to it rather than getting worthless gold =P if you can somehow check out Guild Wars it has the most complex and most types of PvP I've seen in an RPG to date.

Guild Wars has an amazing PvP setup and your describing many aspects of that game, observing is allowed for any important or high skill level matches. The whole PvP arena idea is good and all but the NPC healer idea is well just bad...... people would just be running back and forth to the healer you should have to stay outside until you die or kill someone.... no pots and the dead body in town idea is very nice, if you have never played Guild Wars PvP you should check it out, it is teams of 6 and there are many variations of battling and eventually if you are good enough you can get to the Hall of the Heroes, and if you win that you get some godlike items and it also displays your team or guild name across all servers that you have won. PvP really needs to be upgraded in D3.

Is someone stalking you? Following you into all your games, going hostile, and making everyone leave? Well, you can add them to your asshole list with the "/ass" command, and they will have a perma restraining order from entering any game you are currently in. However, likewise, you cannot enter their games either. Same with channels. But you can't abuse it. You can't just add everybody. You will get like 100 total people that you can assblock.
asshole block huh? sounds like a porn star rpg move....... poor word choice here
maybe have a "Fuck You" button?

didnt we already go over this in a different thread and that there should be no town and no NPC to re-heal you.....
