Wanted to giv sum info on the Zelda Series just for ur study, since part of silversurfnstudism wants us to learn about many lands, Hyrule was one of them so for ur study this is what i hav thus far. Alot of this is based off of OoT just for ur knowing.
"Before life began, before the world had form, three golden goddesses descended upon the chaotic land of Hyrule. They were Din, the goddess of power, Nayru, the goddess of wisdom and Farore, the goddess of courage.
Din, with her strong flaming arms, cultivated the land to create the earth. Nayru poured her wisdom onto the earth to give the spirit of law to the world. Farore's rich soul created all life forms who would uphold the law.
These three great goddesses returned to the heavens, leaving behind the golden sacred Triforce. Since then, the Triforce has become the basis for Hyrule's providence. Where the Triforce stood became sacred land.
In the vast, deep forest of Hyrule, the Great Deku Tree served as the guardian spirit. The children of the forest, the Kokiri, lived with the Great Deku Tree. Each Kokiri had his or her own guardian fairy, except one. His name was Link.
Early one morning, Link was having a nightmare. It was the same nightmare he had every night. During a storm, Link would find himself standing in front of a mysterious castle. A rider on horseback, carrying a girl, would race by. The girl would look at Link as if to say something. Then, another rider would appear. This big man clad in black would look down menacingly at Link. Link would then awaken.
"Link! Hey, get up, Link! The Great Deku Tree wants to talk to you!"
As Link opened his eyes, he saw a fairy floating in front of him. This fairy's name was Navi. Navi was sent to summon Link to the Great Deku Tree.
"Oh, Navi, thou hast returned!" said the Deku Tree. "Thank you, Link, for coming. Thy slumber these past moons must have been restless, and full of nightmares. A vile climate pervades this world. Verily, ye have felt it. The time has come to test thine courage. I have been cursed. I need you to dispel the curse with your wisdom and courage. Art thou prepared?"
Link entered the Great Deku Tree and broke the curse.
"Well done, Link! I knew that ye were worthy of carrying out my wishes. A wicked man of the desert cast this dreadful curse on me. Employing his vile, sorcerous energies, the evil one is searching for the Sacred Realm connected to Hyrule. For it is there that one will find the divine relic, the Triforce, that contains the essence of the gods. Whoever holds the Triforce can make their wishes come true. Thou must never allow the desert man to lay his hands on the sacred Triforce. Thou must never suffer that man to enter the sacred realm of legend. Link, go now to Hyrule castle. There, ye will surely meet the Princess of Destiny. Present this stone to the princess. I have foreseen that she will understand everything."
The Great Deku Tree gave Link the Spiritual Stone of the Forest. Before dying, the Deku Tree's last words were, "The future depends upon thee, Link. Thou art courageous."
The three goddesses return to the heavens
They leave something behind
The Triforce, a Golden Triangle which contains the essences of their powers.
The Triforce was sealed in the Sacred Realm connected to Hyrule. The legends also say that whoever holds the Triforce can make their wishes come true, but only if he has the perfect balance between the three forces: Power, Wisdom, and Courage. If someone without the right balance lays his or her hand on the Triforce, it will split into three pieces. The one touching the Triforce will hold the force that he or she most believes in, and the two other parts will be given to persons chosen by destiny to carry the Triforce-part that they represent. The persons who carry the Triforce or a part of it can be recognized by the Triforce symbol on their hands.
Lands of Hyrule
The World of Hyrule is put together by many different lands, and through Link's adventures we have seen many of them. Below are the most well-known. You can click on the map-thumbnails to see larger versions.
Hyrule
The land Hyrule is often mixed up with the World of Hyrule, for some strange reason. In the land of Hyrule, many important battles and events have taken place. It is filled with many different creatures, races, and places. People in the land of Hyrule have always been known as religious a people, and they have always greatly respected the powers of the Triforce. The Royal Family, who rule the land of Hyrule, is the greatest and most respected family in Hyrule.
Termina
When Link first visited a land outside Hyrule, Termina was the destination. Because many of the people and creatures he met here were very similar to the inhabitants of Hyrule, Termina is often thought of as a parallel world to Hyrule. However, in Termina, the races do not have a common king that runs the land, but they have individual leaders. The Terminians are more advanced than the Hyrulians, but do not seem to have the same faith in the gods as the Hyrulians do. Every year, they celebrate a big carnival in the center of the land, which is the city Clock Town. They do this in honor of the four great ones which, according to the legend, created the land and still guard it. The Triforce is not mentioned when Link is in Termina, so it is believed that it does not play a part of their lives or history.
The Great Sea
Once Hyrule was flooded by the Gods to ‘protect’ the land from Ganondorf, it is turned into a vast sea. The inhabitants of Hyrule are forced to quickly settle on the top of the mountaintops, and eventually they forgot about Hyrule and the land below the sea. This huge sea with many islands became the new home of all life in Hyrule.
Koholint Island
While shipwrecked on a sea-voyage back to Hyrule, Link stumbled upon Koholint Island. The emperor of the island was the Wind fish, and Link could not leave the island until he had set the Wind Fish free. Many people that resembled the inhabitants of Hyrule inhabited this Island. Still, Link is doubtful whether the Island was real or just a place he visited in his dreams...
The Dark World / Sacred Realm
When Ganon was trapped in the Sacred Realm during the Imprisoning War, he still wanted to take over Hyrule. Instead, he had to settle with the Sacred Realm. The Sacred Realm is, in fact, a mirror-world of Hyrule. It was here that Ganon made plans of taking over Hyrule with his great army of soldiers, but the plans was spoiled by Link when he entered the Dark World and ruined all of Ganon’s plans and once again saved Hyrule. When a normal person from Hyrule enters the Sacred Realm, he changes into a monster if his thoughts are greedy and impure.
Labrynna
When peace reigned in Hyrule, Link was not free to rest. The Triforce called him to the land of Labrynna, as evil was stirring in this far-away land. In this land an evil empress took over the beautiful singer and goddess of time, Nayru. Labrynna is inhabited by the same races as Hyrule and Termina, but unlike Termina, Labrynna has their own inhabitants that are special for their land, and therefore the land is obviously not a parallel dimension, like Termina.
Holodrum
Located somewhere far from Hyrule, Holodrum is a very colorful and cheerful land. Link was brought to Holodrum by the Triforce when General Onox used the powers of the Oracle of Seasons, Din, to disturb the Seasons in Holodrum throwing them into chaos. The land is very similar to Labrynna, but it is characterized by its own unique landmarks and inhabitants.
Subrosia
Subrosia is a land deep inside of the planet where a subterranean race, the Subrosians, live. They are a peaceful race that can access every land in Hyrule that they want from Subrosia. The only known entrance for other races to Subrosia is in Holodrum.
Races of Hyrule
Throughout his journeys around Hyrule, Link has stumbled upon many various creatures. Here you will find information about the different races, where they live, and more.
Hylians
Location: Hyrule
Famous Race Members: Link (Picture), Zelda
Description: Blessed by the Gods with exceptional magical skills, such as the ability to communicate through telepathy and making powerful potions, the Hylians have always been the most powerful race throughout Hyrule. They look a lot like humans, except their ears are long and pointy. The Hylians are known for having the skills of manipulating magic.
Sheikah
Location: Kakariko Village in Hyrule
Famous Race Members: Impa (Picture)
Description: The Sheikah, also known as 'The Shadow Folk' are the people chosen by the gods to protect the Triforce and the Royal family of Hyrule. They looked just like Hylians, but bigger. During the great war all the Sheikah except Impa died. The Sheikah built the Shadow Temple.
Kokiri
Location: Kokiri Forest in Hyrule
Famous Race Members: Saria (Picture), Mido
Description: Living in Kokiri Forest protected by The Great Deku Tree, the Kokiri were the only race that did not participate in the Great War. An ancient legend tells that if a Kokiri leaves the forest, he or she will die. Every Kokiri is born with a protecting fairy.
Korok
Location: Forest Haven on the Great Sea
Famous Race Members: Makar (Picture)
Description: The Korok are the Kokiri. Confused? When Hyrule was flooded around a century after Ocarina of Time, the various races then had to adapt to their new every day lives. As a result, the magical children of the Deku Tree took the form as Koroks, simply because this was a more suitable shape for them. One of the reasons was that they could easily fly with the help of the Deku Leaves, and it was also most likely a shape that was more true to their nature, rather than the human-like shape they had as the Kokiri Children.
Goron
Location: Hyrule, Labrynna, Termina
Famous Race Members: Darunia (Picture), Darmani
Description: The Gorons are generally a helpful race that won't harm anybody that doesn't want to harm them. However, they do possess great power and knowledge about fighting techniques. This is proven when Link inhabits the body of an ancient Goron Soldier, Darmani, in the adventure of Majora's Mask. They can live under extreme heat, and grow to become HUGE (Example: Biggoron who lives at the top of Death Mountain). The Gorons eat rocks. It is believed that once Hyrule was flooded the Gorons fled to other parts of the world, such as Labrynna and Termina, as they are not very tolerable to water.
Zora
Location: Hyrule, Labrynna, Termina
Famous Race Members: Princess Ruto (Picture), King Zora, Mikau
Description: The Zoras are a powerful, but at the same time very voulnerable race. Their powers are shown in Majoras Mask when Link inhabits the body of a legendary Zora musician, Mikau. They are extremely good swimmers, but they need water to survive. In Ocarina of Time, most of the Zoras died when their home, Zora's Domain was frozen during Links seven-year sleep. The Zoras have also appeared as an evil race, but then they go by the name "Zola".
Rito
Location: Dragon Roost Island on the Great Sea
Famous Race Members: Quill, Medli, Prince Komali (Picture)
Description: It is believed that as the known world of Hyrule was flooded, and only the Great Sea was left, somewhere along the line the Zoras that lived in Hyrule became, be it by magic or evolution, what is known as the Rito - A birdlike tribe which lives on top Death Mountain, which is then known as Dragon Roost Island. The Ritos worship Valoo, the God of the Sky, and every Rito who wants wings must face Valoo to get them.
Deku
Location: Hyrule, Termina, Labrynna
Famous Race Members: The Deku Princess
Description: The Dekus are a strange race, which can be considered both as enemies and friends. In Ocarina of Time they mainly show up as Deku Scrubs (enemies), but Majora's Mask show us that there exists a people of Dekus that live in their own society. The Dekus are a race who is mainly concerned about themselves, and therefore they can switch sides between good and evil, depending on which is best for them at the time.
Gerudo
Location: Hyrule, Termina
Famous Race Members: Ganondorf (Picture), Nabooru
Description: The Gerudos are a lone people. They live in fortresses, and are known as thieves. Nearly all Gerudos are women. In Hyrule, a male Gerduo is born every 100 years and this man is destined to be the leader of the Gerudos until a new male is born into the tribe.
Fairy
Location: Everywhere
Famous Race Members: Navi, Tatl (Picture), Tael
Description: Guardian Fairies, or simply fairies, are small glowing 'flies' that have been assigned to guard and protect their own Kokiri Kid. The Great Fairy is a big fairy, that seems to be put together by many small Guardian Fairies, or at least she is in Majora's Mask when Skull Kid shatters her into many small fairys. Special fairies that are only used for healing are called 'Faeries'. The Fairies are often forgotten when the races of Hyrule are mentioned, even though they play a great part in the journeys of Link.
Subrosian
Location: Subrosia
Famous Race Members: Rosa
Description: Not much is known about this strange, lonely people. Their land, Subrosia, is a boiling hot land filled with living-volcanos everywhere. Nobody has ever seen what a Subrosian really looks like, as they always wear their capes which hide their real faces.
Tokay
Location: Crescent Island in Labrynna
Famous Race Member: None
Description: A very rare race, only found on Crescent Island in Labrynna. These creatures look like Lizards, but their intelligence is far beyond the ones of the Lizards. They can walk and talk, and even lie, which Link gets to experience when he visits this island. Not an evil race at all, however.
Minish
Location: Hyrule
Famous Race Member: Ezlo, Vaati
Description: The Minish people are a legendary people who live scattered throughout Hyrule. Some live in villages in the forests, others live right amongst the people of Hyrule, but because of their small size inhabitants of Hyrule aren't aware of their existence, and they are most often thought to be but a legend. The Minish only show themselves to children, and so adults are inclined to belive them to be only legends.
