the part where i mention whirlwind, battle cries...... ill post the piece.
"with my cries of war i kept them fearful and still as they were mesmerized by their horror" ---this is a reference to the warcries in the game as a barb. they stun and harm enemies.
"i now commenced with the whirlwing technique taught to me by the ancients on the Arreat Summit" ---this is a most obvious reference.
if you havent heard of arreat summit then unistall all diablo games and burn them. it would give them a higher honor to go in this game than to be in your unfitting hands. these directions are to everyone not just you dude.
i would like this thread to describe the most memorable battle you have experienced and explain why it was memorable. it does not have to be the one describing your sheer brutality but why you remember it the most. to be honest the most brutal battle ive participated in was in the plains of pelennor. i lost my consciousness to my bloodlust and slaughtered the enemy army, leaving only two peons alive to report the news to their master. when i awoke i was shown by a sorceress the events through her eyes.
nevertheless here is my most memorable battle.
i was a captain once of gondor. i held reasonable power when i was needed and traveled alone on quests where i would not endanger my kinsman. on a cold morning i was awaken by my party for five miles away was an army of three thousand orcs. my party was of a hundred men. i hastened for their sake to run to osgiliath and warn the gates and people to brace themselves. three thousand was surely the scouting army and a much larger force surely followed.
my men followed my command and my loyal servant hilarnod led them with quick haste on horse back. i waited for the army to approach. as it came closer fog developed and soon i was cloaked in the mist. at my side were the brother swords, Hope and Destruction. on my back was a massive sword Courage which was made with my blood. i unsheathed the brother blades and approached the enemy.
"company halt!!" i heard. "its a man a mere man!!"another laughed. i did not stop and rushed at them. they laughed as they prepared but they did not know me. i sliced the first three in my way and entered the bulk. dodging stabs and slashes made towards me i continued through, slaying a clear line until i made it to the other side. a hundred orcs lay on the floor now, downed by my hand. i repeated this strategy only now warmed up. i now commenced with the whirlwing technique taught to me by the ancients on the Arreat Summit. being a barbarian by blood i used all the powers known to me. my frenzy i unleashed on them, with my cries of war i kept them fearful and still as they were mesmerized by their horror.
eventually i slayed them all. sparing not one. i stood surrounded by heaps of orc corpses.the foul stench stained the air, black blood covered my armor, my sword, and the ground for a few hundred square feet. i observed the scene and stood still. with my keen ears i would find those who ran or who hid. from the brush i heard leaves rustling. i ran to it and heard a scream, a human scream. there crying stood a frightened child. it occurred to me that this boy had seen me and saw me a monster. i unlatched the armor on my left arm and removed my bloodstained glove. i offered him my hand. "what is your name?? I am Carloseus of the barbarians" i offered. the boy would not speak. "where are your parents??" i asked again. he shook his head. i assumed he had no parents so i brought him up as my own. later he would slay orc lords after the One Ring was destroyed. he was a good friend of Aragorn II Lord of Gondor though was not praised as high as Faramir.
What made it most memorable to me is the fact that the innocent must sometimes be exposed to such horrors of war; no matter how much we the fighters would not like them to. my duties spared his life and postponed the fall of osgiliath for a while. the army that followed the one i obliterated was later caught in a giant ambush where not many of them survived. the boy was the one i valued, not the thanks of a city. Lord Excellaron is his name.
just goes to show the wonders of the human heart. one minute you can be brutally ending lives and the next you can take in a child and raise him as your own.
i am as old as time, an old fighter and warrior. i now wish to join the elite of the strongest force ever. the SICK are the elite army of all time. i would just like to tell you all that you are all truly blessed to be in such a force.
