Yeah. Ill be sticking with pretty low monster level if you're having issues with your gear.

I'm not one of the people who ever bitched about the game being to easy. I can't see myself running on anything above 3, other than to try it out and drop game immediately.

I don't like to qq on the forums, but I think I agree. It's just to demoralizing to get bland useless items over and over again. A serious loot system change needs to be made for any long term playability.

posted a message on Disintegrate vs. Arcane Orb for Archon build
    Quote from kaiadam

Disintegrate ticks 4 times per second, however, by design, the game doesn't display values that rapidly - if they do, the numbers would all be overlapping each other. Damage and healing numbers are displayed every half second by the game client.

So with disintegrate (along with other damage over time abilities like blizzard or venom hydra, etc.), what the game does, is adds the damage that you've done in the previous half second, then displays this as a white number. Each of the individual ticks can and do crit, this is why your disintegrate numbers fluctuate.

All on-crit procs and on-hit procs work per tick, but at a significantly reduced coefficient (I think it's something like 11% for most disintegrate runes?).

That being said ... why wouldn't you run stormchaser? I find disintegrate near unusable with 240k dps.

Thanks for the info. I did run with stormchaser for a while, but I just prefer to use orb/disint if I could. I dont have any trouble in act 3 as it is now, just wanted to switch it up a bit.

Also, the % life steal and + arcane power on your wand aren't going to do much for you. Get a higher dmg weapon with more int and a socket. Something like mine, only aim for something in the 800-900 dps range, as they're much cheaper.

If you're already farming in act 2, keep at it. Save up 2-3mill and completely re-gear. As others have said Int->Vit->AR

i would try to throw some crit hit/dmg in there as well if you can

posted a message on Disintegrate vs. Arcane Orb for Archon build
So you guys can check out my build in the armory link the signature, but my question is as follows:

I've been seeing some of the really high DPS wizzies running with disintegrate instead of Arcane Orb/WW. I like the idea of having a laser all the time, so this appeals to me... BUT

Can Disintegrate not crit? I know I've asked this before, but does my crit damage/ chance stack become completely worthless if I switch from orb or laser?

posted a message on Triumverate (and all +% elemental dmg) Question
    Quote from Loroese

It increases your weapon min damage directly. I don't think either of your cases is correct.

If weapon range is 200-400 and you have "Adds 15% to fire damage" on your ring, with no other stats, your new min weapon damage is 200+0.15*200*2 = 200+30 = 230. Your weapon range is now 230-400. Your base weapon damage is just an average of your max and min damage, so damage = 630/2 =315.

If the skill in question does 200% weapon damage, your average damage will be 630.

Wow... If thats true, the +% dmg is a bit misleading... You'd think it would apply the percentage on both max and min, or the 15% After averaging, not just the low end and then averaging.

Sounds kinda easy with gear. If everything lined up in a straight, especially with 2000 mobs of which 15% are elites, 1700 white mobs which melt with my archon lazer, I wouldnt even need to try.

So lets make yet another repeat thread crying about "poor me i haven't gotten a legendary QQQQQQQQQQQQ"? I wish I was a mod, I would ban people like you outright at this point.

Fuck off dude... That is all

I'm not saying that things arent random. What I am saying is that there should be something along the lines of a timeplayed counter, which, for example, every hour that the player is playing and they dont see a legendary drop, the chance of a legendary drop goes up by like... .5% or something. That way if a person plays for 20 hours, which is a SOLID weekend of gaming, their legendary drop % chance would be up to 10% making it very possible that in a given 20 hours of play time you'd see a legendary.

Obviously numbers could be tweaked up and down to balance it, but a STRAIGHT RNG can be way to demoralizing if you're on the bottom side of it

p.s. I dont mean a BIS bow or anything, I just mean a legendary of upper level. Seeing them, or possibly having the salvage would add a fun layer of loot.

Level 10 means that you get 30% more mf. It's not much, right? So why do you expect to get legendaries?

I'm not talking about the %mf bonus from paragon affecting the drop rate per-say. I'm talking about how many hours I've put in grinding to level 10, and with that time, even with NO mf, I would hope to have gotten at least 1.
