Your helm (zunimassa's whispers set) is a legacy item, and your mojo and chest armor (zunimassa's haunt set) is for the new zuni set in RoS. They are different sets entirely. If you look at the set bonuses you can see that for 2,3,4 piece sets the bonuses are different.
Azurewrath has nice secondaries (chance to freeze), but Utar's Roar is craftable at blacksmith and better from a damage perspective since it's a 1.3 attack speed weapon (azurewrath is 1.4). Since dots do not scale with attack speed, they hit harder with slower weapons.
I just want to make sure i am reading this correctly. Are you saying that because a weapon has slower attack speed it will always have higher base DPS? Basically I'm wondering if 2 different weapons are only .1 aps apart (1.4-1.3), does the base dps scale with attack speed? The lower attack speed the harder it hits? And i understand, i get it, that 2 handers with slower aps will hit harder than a 1 hander per tick, because sure you cast a skill less often but it has a higher base dps.
Its just that you are saying to craft an item (Utar) because it is .1 attacks per seconds slower than, lets say, a Thunder Fury. So what if the TF rolls perfect stats, and the Utar has mediocre stats. Does the .1 aps guarantee more DPS? Is it a known mathematical fact that any weapon with slower aps will always hit harder?
Im asking because i guess i don't fully understand all this dps stuff. Is it like some sort of graph, where each weapon scales with aps.
This is interesting becauseI'mwondering if i have to take a large amount of my time playing this game (really only play an hour or two after work) to look for this crafting mat. Plus I'm curious about this dps/aps scaling theory.
Anyway, you have one hellova build on your hands. I will try it out for sure. WD is my favorite class, thanks for the post.
The ruby increase the pure damage of your pets.... But the emerald increase the pets crits..
any thoughts on this?
donvigo
I run this build with some minor changes, but I keep the pets, and this gem issue has been a problem for me as well.
The Ruby does bump up your pet damage quite a bit, however the Emerald only does so much. I can't remember where I saw/heard that your pets can only do 50% Crit Damage. I haven't tested this but I think it's right. So the emerald will have no effect on your pets DPS if you already have over 50% crit chance. Ruby on the other hand will increase both yours and pets DPS.
This would eliminate the one shot. If you have 80K life right now, well then you will have 80 Million life to start the fight. I have 200K DPS right now and my highest crit i have seen for my character is 2.5 mil. So if I were to crit every hit, it would still take like 30-35 hits to the opponent to kill him. Now this could be a long fight, but at least it wouldn't be over instantly. And you dont have to nerf or take out any spells. I would love to test this
Interesting. They would have to create a bunch of new weapons (pistols), but i'm sure it's do-able. And new ideas for characters can't hurt, so good work. I'm sure you put a good amount of time thinking of this.
there is another method of CC, you need a WD. have him use wall of zombies, and rune i think is called wreaking crew, well it's the one that taunts enemies. it will gather a group just as good, if not better, than the area of a monks ability. its great, they all pile up into the center of the wall of zombies and try to hit it, but they can't kill the wall. and it lasts for maybe 3 secs? not really sure on the time, but its long enough to burn em down easily.
WOW!!! The coolest video I have seen in a very long time. Nice work Jaetch, 1:16 blew my mind, and then at 2:10 that goblin didn't stand a chance. hahahahaha, simply amazing.
Hmm, interesting... Maybe the feeling I had of the LS slowly dwindling came from increasingly higher health pools. If you're at 300k HP, losing 30-40k per hit, then 2-5k health don't feel very powerful.
Thanks for the heads-up, and for that awesome FAQ thread too
Even if LS is only 10%, I've been getting 1.5mil crits on my wizard, which would put healing at 150,000HP. My health pool is only 80K, so that would serve me pretty well. I still think it is better than 1,000 hp/s and 2000 LoH. Those numbers will outscale LS as you get closer to 70 though (especially since your dps will be gimped by a level 60 weapon.
Thornagol, it means 10% of your current life steal %. So if you had a skorn with 6% Life steal and you get 1.5 mil crit, then that would be 90,000 life gained. But then you have to factor in the 10% of original life steal effect, so this would mean you would only get 9,000 life gained per 1.5 mil crit. It is definitely a huge nerf to life steal, but if you can string together 8-10 large crits, then well, now you got your HP back up to full.
The belt haunt is just a fear though, it doesn't do damage.
On a side note, it procs off looting bodies/corpses/whatever as well, so there's a lot more opportunities for procs than you'd think. It's also decent for pointing out the next pack of mobs in places like Act 3, where walls can hide them a bit. Great in Act overall actually, lots of lootable bodies and chests everywhere, used it a ton on my DH.
It actually does do damage. I just tested it out. And then I equipped Haunt as one of my skills I use and put the slow rune on (60% slow for 6 secs, i think it is) and that also works. So now when i loot a dead body or open a chest, 5 enemies take 1465% weapon damage over 6 seconds and they are slowed by 60%. Its very nice.
And I was also in act 3 keep depths, and there were like 15-20 enemies around me when i opened a chest, the Haunt picked the 5 more dangerous/tougher enemies (the guys who drag their axe behind em on the ground) over the weaker enemies (quill backs or the licker guys).
I don't have that item, just trying to highlight that someone might use it. I have to admit though that I misread (misunderstood) "haunt" in this example. Yeah, in that case I'm not sure what the use is, I thought it would be more of a fear effect, no idea why I thought it would be like that.
/care as repair costs are negligible nowadays anyway... maybe one day when they introduce ethereal items
And yeah that Haunt on chest open is useless too. I know you can, like Bagstone, make some kind of argument in favor of each property, but in general they're just shit and you wouldn't ever use the item because of it, unless it was an upgrade anyway.
Yeah, I misunderstood what Haunt means here, it sounds indeed pretty useless.
The no-repair shoulders are absolutely awesome though, I love them. Wearing them all the time.
Haunt is a spell, for the witch doc, just letting you know bud.
I play WD and found the belt that casts 5 haunts to nearby enemies, I use it not only because of that affix, but it was an upgrade to my old belt, and yes there is a way to use it effective. First you become much more aware of your surrounding, (this helps spotting armor racks for white items- i used to miss em all the time). Also it doesn't just cast on chests, it casts when you loot dead bodies laying on the ground, armor racks, chests, those loose stones on the ground (in the crypts), and a couple of others im forgetting.
Anyway, before engaging in a fight with a mob or an elite pack i scan the area i'm in, and pick out the easiest route to the chest or dead body. Maybe i'll spirit walk to it. Im not sure how Haunt it picks its targets, I think just the closest enemies to said chest, but sometimes i think it goes straight for the elite. And haunt is a pretty good DOT skill. 1450% (or so) damage over 5 seconds. Thats a lot of damage that is just free.
It would be cool to see like a Barb using "Leap" , (and no, you don't jump up for joy when u use leap, leap is a skill, u jump and then crush some enemy's face, its an awesome skill) jumping around the area/room you are in opening/clicking on objects and casting haunt. ITS FREE DAMAGE, WHY NOT.
Basically this affix is NOT useless, and i am very glad I found it.
Bagstone, I was exaggerating there with the Leap, just messing with ya. It is pretty damn funny that you thought Haunt was when you run around an area scaring monsters. hahahahahahahaha
I've been trying all kinds of different builds and skills with my witch doc, and although it isn't the most efficient its a hellova lot of fun. I just reset my quests and am playing the game straight through. Sure the story isn't the best but for me it's more fun running all different acts and quests, and killing all the different types of monsters.
But then again players can have fun doing chest runs, or the Mira run, or whatever over and over. To each his own, just my opinion.

No life steal weapons
All spells and skills and gear are available
Everybody starts the fight with x1000 HP
