I thought D2 had the best story. Though D1 had better music and a better overall game environment.

I'm hoping for a Diablo III.
Though I don't want to get my hopes up too much, I seem to always be crushed when there's talk of a Diablo III announcement coming soon.

And yes, half the web is definitely an overstatement, but I think no matter what it will be, it will attract A LOT of attention. Some of the most reliable and popular gaming news sites like Blues News have written aboute D3.com's countdown and it has gained a lot of attention from other gaming websites so it better be something good.

I think if any of the angels in the game were thrones or seraphs they'd be depicted more realistically. Thrones, Seraphs, and Cherubs don't look anything like the lesser angels or humans.

IIRC, Ophanim and Thrones are the same thing and the other choir/order would be the virtues but there's a lot of different mythologies.

Anyways, what strikes me as odd is that Tyrael is considered the Angel of Justice. Angels of Justice would be the Thrones yet Tyrael is cleary not a Throne. The first sphere (Seraphim, cherubim, thrones) deal mostly with God and the Heavens while the third sphere (principalities, archangels, guardian angels) deal with mankind which would be most fitting for Tyrael.

I'm probably looking into things too hard but does anyone know if Duriel and Andariel were once angels? Probably just another coincidence, but usually when a name ends in "el" it means The Lord/God like in most of the Diablo and Christian archangels.

I'd suggest not rushing into game development. I know a lot about studios and it's not the greatest job in the world. The work is hard and often boring. The hours are long. The pay's not the best - for example a computer programmer gets paid much more than a game programmer. I know a couple devs who just couldn't handle the work (from EA and Ensemble Studios) and left disgruntled. You will only survive if you have a great passion for games. If you do, you may enjoy yourself but otherwise I wouldn't suggest it.

Game designers are a dime a dozen. You have to be the best if you want success. After college or during college, I'd suggest starting as an art intern. You probably won't get paid but it will help you become an artist and from there you can work your way up to a studio like Blizzard. If you have an interest in programming, level design, etc, you could start off as a tester instead but that is a very tedious job. If there's no studios near your college, get a job working on one of the freeware games like 0 AD. They won't pay but will look good on your resume.

At least have your friend give you a picture of him standing outside of the blizzard offices giving a thumbs up to the camera.
