These cheaters, not just in D3, but in alot of other games need to be dealt with more harshly. It should also carry fines not to exceed 10,000 dollars and 10 years in prison. These vermin scumbags should be held in the same regard as pedophiles. That way, the prison inmates will rape and torture them, scarring them emotionally for life. Once released from prison, they'll become social outcasts, unable to get a job and become poor. They then can live in skid row in a cardboard box. Dogs will come by and pee on them. They will smell and become whinos and beg food at the homeless shelters.
All of this could of been prevented if they just would of read the D3 ToS and abided by it and not have cheated. They never prosper.
This is the greatest thing I will read all day, thank you sir.
As much as I love D2, and I will always view it as a superior game in most aspects, I can't help but agree with almost every point Bagstone.
I love Dave and the work he did, but to go around and shit talk a different take on "his diablo" is immature and childish. Really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. There is just no professionalism whatsoever. The game is great, it may not hold my interest for more than a month or so each season, but it still gets me coming back. It would be one thing if had another game to prove his vision would have been better, but he's done nothing.... sad.
--> Will the majority of the actual player base quit the game because some enthusiastic players are botting? No. Will they cry about it? Yes.
--> Will the majority of the actual player base (including botters) quit, when blizzard decides to do smth against botters? Yes. Will a lot of innocent players be negatively affected by blizzards actions? Yes. Does Blizzard want to earn a lot of money? Yes.
Sorry, how do you know ? I know some people that already quitted to others botting, and botters that bots because they "have to" and will be glad to stop.
Blizzard is not going to harm their business. Botters will always be there. That's how it works now.
Keep in mind that for every business, the reputation is maybe the most important thing.
And Diablo having the reputation as a bot paradise is not good to their reputation.
And I know plenty of people who would quit if they couldn't bot. I would imagine these people just do not have much time to play and do not want to waste what little time they have doing bounties or normal rifts etc.. I am not saying this justifies it, I am just saying you know people who quit because of botting, and I know people who would quit without botting.
And profit >>>>>>>>>> reputation. Do you really think a business would rather make LESS money just to have the people using their product say "well at least they are reputable" over making MORE money but having people say "they do some stuff I don't agree with"? IF, this is a big if, Blizzard were to lose money from removing botting completely, I don't think botting will EVER go away. Remember that Bobby Kotick is in charge these days, and if you don't know his philosophy behind the game industry and making money, give it a nice Google search. The guy literally makes every move based on net gains, which from a business perspective doesn't seem unreasonable.
it is only me that, after having tried shortly THUD, have decided that it is useful but nothing essential?
Being able to see all your buffs, finding dead ends before actually discovering, plotting out pylons ahead of time, seeing the actual buff timers are all pretty substantial.
Not to mention seeing timers on things like frozen, and clear circles of what not to stand in.
It's hilarious that you cry about a bot that can tops 10b xp/h yet you let the whole 500b xp/h speed rift problem slip by. The botters MAY have better items, but you can't do anything to competete against the perma 4 man party speed grift. When there's 1k paragon of stats of difference, there's no ladder.
Cap paragon at 800 for Seasons. Resolve the Bot problem, and MAYBE you will have a competitive ladder.
Solo bots from what I've read are getting up around 40b/hr atm, some higher some lower. And there are definitely party bots working properly as well, yielding excellent exp. I'm sure it's not as high as playing with actual people, but actual people usually can't play 24/7.
I still remember when Jay Wilson (lead of D3) called Dave Brevik (lead of D2) a "fucking loser".
D2 unfortunately I think will always be better than D3. I still enjoy D3 to some extent, but it feels so empty compared to what D2 was.
Botting right now will never yield anyone any amount of xp that is even starting to get close to the xp you get from speed grifting 60-70 in a 4p group. If you're good you can pull off 30b xp per hour solo botting... When done right in a group you can get over 100b quite easily and so far, there are no bots that allow the user to run multiple accounts together in the same game in a reliable manner...
I do believe there are people running multiple bots in the same game for high exp farm rates. I am not 100% what those rates are, but they are happening. Botting has always and will always give a large advantage in games like this.
With the lack of an economy however, I personally don't mind its presence. I do feel bad for those genuinely trying to push for rank 1 in whatever category, but struggle to keep up due to their competition able to play 24/7. (This is assuming some high Grift pushers bot)

It's on MMO-Champion. Supposedly the list has not been "officially released" yet.

OT: Designs look pretty sweet. I haven't played Pokemon in almost 10 years, but a few of my friends I think would jump all over this.

That's the site I used to use for D2 mods. Haven't heard of the one you are looking for but perhaps they have it.
Best of luck.
