Oct 17, 2009Archie posted a message on Diablo II MysteriesWhat if the Blizzard team is working on implementing some of these for the 1.13 patch? I would be satisfied with that, as long as there was an increased stash, new items, and maybe a quest or two in addition to, say, the trophy system.Posted in: News

I just pray the Blizzard doesn't cut things like this out of DIII due to time constraints. -
Aug 21, 2009Archie posted a message on New Diablo 3 Character Class: The Monk!Well he does look really friggin cool. He might still have a similar skill set as to what I posted though. I'm still hoping for some sand based attacks.Posted in: News
Why oh why is there another WoW expansion?!?! Never mind, I can answer that, Cash Cow.
Quote from "Siaynoq" »Do you even know all the countries that exist on the Asian continent? Even then the argument is pointless because this is Sanctuary, not Earth.
I don't know all, but most. But yeah, not Earth. I'm excited. BRain nOt FuNCTIOning propeRLY. -
Aug 21, 2009Archie posted a message on New Diablo 3 Character Class: The Monk!Posted in: NewsQuote from "Siaynoq" »Why would he have to be Asian in order to be a monk? That's just silly, man.
Well who ever heard of an Arabian Monk? Bhuddists are monks, not... Oh, well I guess he could be a Hindu style monk. :/
Another friggin WoW expansion?!?! They just released Lich King what 6 months ago?!? -
Aug 21, 2009Archie posted a message on New Diablo 3 Character Class: The Monk!Guys, he's not a monk. He is obviously Arabian/Middle Eastern, he's not Asian in slightest.Posted in: News
I honestly believe he is going to have a skill set based on sand, one skillset based on fire & brimstone spells, and a summon skill set (Think Djinni's, scarabs, scorpions, vipers). It only makes sense because they are releasing the desert act.
He will be a mid range to short range fighter/caster (emphasis on fighter) to fill in one of the gaps in play that are left. WD is a middle to long range caster/fighter (emphasis on caster), Wizard is a long range caster, and Barb is a short range fighter. Which leaves the mid to long range fighter as a ranger/thrown weapon class. -

Aug 6, 2009Archie posted a message on Traditional Weapon-Character Relation MaintainedI do like this to an extent. The only problem I have is if it ends up like DII's Necro and the Scythe. It looked cool, but the stats required to use it were much more suited for a Paladin or Barb, but then those classes would never use a scythe. Also, I thought that the scythe would have been a much better class specific weapon than a little wand. Hopefully Blizz makes the right choices of which weapons should be excluded from which classes.Posted in: News
But overall, I am pleased with this decision.
While reading this, I came up with a fun little thing in regards to weapons and stats that would be nice if Blizz implemented. The idea is having stats play a part in how each class carries and uses each weapon. Example: A Barbarian weilds a Two handed maul. But because he has just barely reached the strength requirement, we'll say 60 str, he drags the maul around until he swings, lumbering and slow. Now say the same Barb has 90 str, now he can walk around easily with the maul on his shoulder, and he can swing much faster. And finally, say the same Barb has now reached 120 str, now he walks around twirling the maul around effortlessly, and he swings with lightning speed. I would think it wouldn't really have an affect on the game except for attack speed, but I just thought it might be a cool implementation. And it could be applied to other classes as well, a wiz could use a staff as a walking stick until he is more skilled, then he will carry it around more skillfully, like tossing it between hands, or carrying it on his shoulder. Also, if there is a dagger class, dex could affect that, causing him to toss the dagger around more when he/she is more skilled, and of course, speed in the attacks will increase.
Just a thought. -
May 5, 2009Archie posted a message on Blizzcon '09Daemaro - Just so people know, I live in Orange, CA right next door to Anaheim, literally 10 minutes from the Convention Center. I won't be able to go, but if a couple people need a place to crash for a few days during the convention, I have a futon and a couch in the living room. Maybe I should plan a party the day before Blizzcon or the day after the last day for a Big D3 celebration.Posted in: News

Apr 18, 2009Archie posted a message on Diablo 3 Difficulty LevelsI do agree with people saying no to immunes.Posted in: News
I mainly played as a necro, and I've played all types, boner, summon, curse, and my favorite melee necro.
The reason I played as a melee necro was because it made the game that much harder for myself. I would put no points into spear, spirit, teeth, skellies or revives. This makes the first act normal quite difficult with no abilities until lvl 6. And this would force me to use golems and poison dagger. Sure it was impossible in parts of hell, but I made it that way so that it would be harder through the rest of the game as well. But if they removed the immunes from hell, I would have been able to play through all difficulties and actually finish hell. Plus, the melee necro got so much respect when I would pvp a sorc or barb and win. I just want to be able to play every single class as either melee or ranged, depending on the player's choice. For those who might ask, I didn't play as the general melee character, the Barb because 1, my younger brother played as the barb,;) and 2, I just found him more boring.
Did anyone else handicap their player on purpose by using an incredibly uncommon build? -
Mar 3, 2009Archie posted a message on Tell Blizzard Your #1 Diablo II Patch Note.Holy Crapazord!!! This is awesome!! I would love to see 2-4 new quests!! That would be incredible!! Extra Stash space would be really cool too. And of course there are the bugs/hacks that should be worked out.Posted in: News
I would vote new quests, but, I lost my old DII install disks when I moved houses, and then my old computer died, so I think I'm gonna go buy a new DII and LOD. I'll BRB...
Okay got em, time to make a post. -
Jan 30, 2009Archie posted a message on Care For Some Marshmallow With Your Thousand Pounder?Wow, the wallpapers are simply screenshots of what we have already seen + photoshop for 10 minutes. WTF?!?! I think people on these forums have made some better wallpapers.Posted in: News
As for the Marshmallow man, HILARIOUS!! Unicorn, not so much. I'm actually curious what the rainbow is covering up. I think it's a WD, but there is just so much blood and residual magic (AKA purple stuff).
I just realized we haven't recieved any new info since OCTOBER!!! It's been 3 full months since anything!! The next one better kick ass. It better have 1 new class reveal, some more WD and Wizard skills, and at least 20 new screenshots of something other than Act 1 Quest 1. I'm talking cities lush with people, caverns full of demons, and maybe even a screenshot of a Boss. Fingers crossed. -

In the meantime I have to point on one important thing.
WHAT?!?! If you're saying that the DIII team works on other projects at the same time as DIII, then no, you are wrong. The DIII team is only working on DIII.
If you mean that the DII team has been split up, then yes, sort of. It was stated a long time ago that about half (40 or so) of the Blizz North team is working on DIII. The other half was either let go, or working on other projects.

And to tag along with what Kiowa was saying, wouldn't it be awesome if there was a quest in the bowels of Hell for each class that is specifically that class' worst fears come to life?

Back on topic. I sure got pissed last night. About 4 pints of Extra Stout, a couple glasses of wine, and a couple shots of vodka. Terrible mix I know. Thankfully I'm not paying for it too bad today.

The irony in Turmobil's post was too much for me. It's like someone smoking a camel wide cigarette and saying that pot is gonna kill you.:xD: Mind you I don't smoke pot, but I do smoke rettes. I hand roll chemical-less tubaky. Its delicious
Oh yeah, and drinking began last night, I had a small hiatus while I was at work for 6 hours, and now I'm back tom my favorite black friend. Guinness. Not drunk yet, but working on it.

I would suggest the Oak/summon Druid be a class in your list as well. It would really make a difference. But then of course there will be lag.
I will begin playing early in the morning immediately after the reset, so there is a possibility of joining you guys around 6pm.

It looks like Robert Rodriguez just grabbed the whole crew from Deathproof and Grindhouse. Granted, those movies aren't bad, but they didn't turn out phenomenal. Okay, I loved Deathproof, but Grindhouse was definitely a blah, junk b-movie.
As for the cast of Predators, everyone is a TV actor minus a couple of moderately big names. Which to me, as an actor, says that this movie is going to be horribly overacted with no true emotion. Of course Danny Trejo is gonna be in it, Robert can't leave out family. Mind you his character's name is Cuchillo, which means knife in spanish. He'll be playing the Sonny Landham part.
Then there are the predator actors. There's 3 of them, and only 1 of them actually has a good history as a costume man, Brian Steel. The 2nd, Carey Jones has always been a techie, and is going to do his debut acting as a Pred, and the 3rd is strictly a tv guy except for his appearance as Jason in the 09 Friday the 13th. Then you throw Topher Grace in there. Christ, that can't be good. It's going to take a lot of directing from Robert for Topher to play a believable normal character. I'll talk about the stars later when I talk about plot.
The production designers have identical resumes, I mean they both did Kill Bill 1/2, Grindhouse, Deathproof, Sin City, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Spy Kids 2/3, The Faculty, Jackie Brown, and it goes on and on. Tons of sub par, mediocre hokey action flicks. Nothing in that list really screams "difficult costume/set design" aside from Sin City, and most of that was shot on green screen. The PD's don't have any working experience with animatronics and creature construction. You could argue the Faculty, but that was CG, and bad CG at that.
Then there's the writers. Of course Robert Rodriguez had to put his stamp up there, and he did it for a reason. The other two writers are some fresh out of college guys with no experience under their belts at all!!O_O That was my red flag right there.
That finally brings us to plot. Nothing has been released yet, but Lawrence Fishburne is probably going to play the ultimate badass, "Arnie" character. Adrien Brody will play the cool but also kinda nerdy sidekick, he'll probably get killed. They sure as hell better kill Topher Grace in the movie, who will probably be some annoying little brat as usual, or surely it will be a failure of a story. And then of course in every modern action movie, it can't be a show run by the man. There must still be tough girl who kicks and punches just as hard as the guy who weighs 100lbs of muscle more than her. That is played by Alice Braga,(seen in I am Legend and Blindness) and of course, she won't die. Oh I almost forgot, Oleg Taktarov, (Air Force One, 15 minutes) he'll probably play a secondary character, and he'll probably die. But for some reason, I've always liked him as an actor though. I have faith that he will be able to throw in a good performance to balance out some of the weak actors.
Now of course I am going to see the movie in theaters, simply because I am praying for a good sequel. But I honestly think it is going to be a failure, much like AvP.
Forgive my harsh ranting.

But for quick directions.
1. Scuff lenses w/ green scotchbright pad, wipe clean
2. Spray nightshade on thin and however many coats to achieve desired darkness.
3. Scuff lenses w/ green scotchbright pad, wipe clean
4. Spray clearcoat on thick.
As for the lighted eyes, I would say a single LED w/ a curved black shade that covers behind the light, so it doesn't shine in your face. And LED's don't get hot, so no worries there. Just wire it to an AA battery and you're set. The good thing with nightshade, is that you can go as light or as dark as you want, for visibility sake.

Wish me luck that I don't get whiskey dick, or puke and pass out before the fun stuff happens.

As for the rep and experience rating systems, I don't really care about them. I love the way that they will help many people figure out who are the "important" people on here, and I applaud everyone for coming up with those ideas. Except that I still have no idea how to raise my green bar in the xp rating. But when it comes right down to it, I still just see people as people, and I either like them and their posts, or I don't. And every once in a while, a spammer will shock me with a great post.
I agree with Sixen. This \/ \/

Second, we do need a lot more info than you've given us, like Hungry said.
I have to say that DIII will almost surely have higher requirements. The first thing that comes to mind is the DIII maps will be significantly larger with many more complex surroundings, such as lighting, weather effects, destructible environments, etc. Secondly I would assume that with a release at least 1 year later than SC2, DIII will have a greater polygon count. And the final thing that will affect sysreqs, that I can think of off hand, is that the amount of creatures on screen will be less than SC2's max, <~400, allowing greater polygon count. Now what effect this has on the sysreqs I don't know, because Blizz could go either direction.
