I've started exploring more random areas in Diablo 3

I came across a cannibal who ate all his buddies and wrote about it in his diary and a crazy man who was trying to look after his obviously dead and decaying wife, rocking in the rocking chair. Her head fell off. ha

The two main things I did to improve my Diablo 3 experience
- Pay less attention to the main storyline and more to the side lore and random areas
- Play the appropriate Diablo 2 music (from the soundtrack) in different areas of Diablo 3. Or use some songs from the Battlestar Galactica soundtracks

I couldn't believe how big of a difference good RPG styled music made on my playing experience. Like listening to Act2 D2 music in Caldeum ROCKS MY MIND. But walking through Caldeum with no music on is so dull.

Guys like Thasador and Maestro (and others) haven't been on for so long I think they may of actually died

The sound channels thing is supposed to represent how many sounds can play simultaneously. Not the quality of the sound itself.
Supposedly if your sound card cant handle that, if can cause more lag.
I read somewhere that most on-board sound cards only handle 32, and that the 64, and 128 are for dedicated PCI sound cards.

Seems to be a reoccuring problem others are having too. I might just listen to Diablo II music while playing Diablo III lol.
If only we could make a mod or something so our own music would play in different areas.

Whats wrong with the sound balance in this game

I need the below stats just to hear music compared to other sounds

Master: 100
Effects: 10
Music: 100
Voice: 20
Ambient: 50

I was hacked but I don't mind. At least I think I was.

All I lost was a few chipped gems and like 10k gold. And now because of that my system is 10x more secure with way more password diversity. So I considered it a good trade early on.

Still not entirely sure why a hacker would take chip gems from a stash and leave better gems in my gear.... and only take a certain number of gold and not leave it at 0... It almost looked like some kind of server-side error but I just assumed it was client-side. Its the safer option instead of just blaming b.net.


P.S - Scans (4 different ones) came back with some baddies too. It must be all those russian mailorder bride websites

Why is the Diablo 3 storyline so fucking bad? Its like it was thought up by a 12 year old who played Diablo 2 a few times and has no real grasp on what differentiates the Diablo franchise from other franchises.

The rest of the game is pretty good. Some parts are amazing.

There are certain elements that is lacks that Diablo 2 had though, aside from a superior plot. None of the vendors or NPC's are memorable personality-wise - unlike the NPCs in Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 whose voices and personalities I can still clearly re-call in my mind.

Voice acting was really good for some characters, but poor for others. Not on the same level as Diablo 2 though. In retrospect, Diablo 2 voice acting was masterpiece level. Maybe its my fault for expecting a repeat of that. Also - they shouldn't of given Diablo a voice (more than a few lines)... I always though of Mephisto and Baal (esp. Meph) as the voices, while Diablo was like the younger, brawnier brother who followed their direction and intelligence. The voice they chose for Diablo didn't convey his character at all. It was generic demon at best.
I liked Azmodans voice though, in the cinematic with leah where its deep but there is the accompanying noise of 'clicking' in his throat. That was a badass demon voice.
Tyraels voice... wtf blizzard. Cmon now. What the hell!?
Deckards voice was... well, just like Deckard. Always the pessimist that guy. Always 'fearing the worst' and shit like 'impending doom'. heheh

Graphics are good. Its actually fairly dark and moody on my screen - even more so than the screenshots showed. Lighting and visual effects are nice. I suppose you can see a small influence from the warcraft design team occasionally but I'm not going to complain. Considering that was their background and original works (for this team). Theres plently of gore and blood explosions with Barbarian.

Monster design. Great

Level design is good. There's plently of closed in areas, and open areas. Everything there was great cept the Butchers level should of been filled with corpses and blood like Diablo 1. I mean, if you're going to bring him back - do it right. Aside from that - excellent. Jungle area in expansion please

Music? I don't seem to be hearing it. Almost to the point that I'm wondering if I have corrupt music files and can't actually hear anything? I can't even judge this yet. Slightly confused.

The written lore is awesome. I love listening to Deckard or someone read it out to me as I go forward. That stuff was pretty well-written.

Artistically, D2 wins over D3. By artistically I don't just mean visually because Diablo 3 has the obvious advantage of being a 3d game released in 2012 with nice lighting and mist effects. I mean the RPG elements and stuff - but anyway. Gonna go play some more D3 lol

I like to think that the original purpose of many drugs is to enhance human creativity or accelerate personal growth. Sparingly! Magic mushrooms only grow at one time per year. Its almost as if nature moderates if for you.
However as humans, we suck balls. So instead of using the drugs which can help you, in the right settings and environment, we inject addictive heroine, smoke addictive nicotine, poison our bodies with ethanol, take stimulants and just dance in clubs surrounded by morons.
Hell, you can take your party drugs and dance all night long... I'll just be over there, on shrooms, climbing that tree and staring at the stars lol
