Ok, I didn't salvage the leg before, so now I did. And it did open the Abandoned Farmstead, where I was able to open Wirt's Chest and take out the thing for the Cow Pet. But then when I clicked on it, all it did was disappear. It didn't actually give me the pet. What did I do wrong?
Also, on my Achievements board it says I've earned the Butcher pet, but I have no idea where to get that. Help?

Never mind, I found where my Pets are stashed - I have both the Butcher and the Cow.
Thank you! I did click on the cows but since I apparently didn't click them in the right order, nothing happened except making them look ghostly. And I did collect the Rotten Mushrooms - I was going to ask what those are used for too, but I forgot. So thanks for bringing it up.
I don't play D3 very often so my skills and knowledge of the game are, let's just say, lacking.

I did the Rotten Mushroom/click on the bodies/get the plan for Wirt's Leg/craft Wirt's Leg thing. I also went back and clicked on the cows in the 2-1-3 order, but nothing happened. Isn't there supposed to be an Abandoned Farmstead entrance that triggers when the cows are clicked? I definitely didn't see anything like that.
I just slayed Diablo, the Dark Lord himself. The whole thing was pretty cool, although I was a little frustrated that there are so many levels in the Labyrinth. Got a couple of questions though: in the ruins of Old Tristram are the bodies of Griswold, Farnham, Pepin and Ogden. When I click on them, I get messages that say "I can't open this" and "this can't be opened yet". What do I need to do so I can open them? Also, where's Wirt's Leg? I'd be very grateful for any help you all can give me.
As far as not playing LOD till 2005, it's because I didn't have a computer that could handle it till then. I myself can't imagine how I managed without LOD, now that I've had the pleasure. And I was reading a thread earlier about people who still want to play D1. I was like, you gotta be kidding me! Why would anyone even consider playing it when LOD is around? The only thing I prefer about D1 is that you can save the game where you were last playing, then come back later and pick up where you left off.
Anyway, the few times I do play multiplayer games (mostly Baal Runs), the guys are always shocked to find out I'm female. They probably don't believe me either. Makes me kinda chuckle.
I'm a newbie myself. Not a newbie to Diablo, just to this site.
I've been playing the various forms of Diablo since 1997. I'm curious to see what D3 will be like though. If Blizzard changes it to be like WoW, I'll stick with D2 LOD.
