posted a message on When Words Kill: "That's so gay"
The phrase "That's so gay" has nothing to do with this linkx, you're thinking something along the lines of " kid you're so gay ", and I can definitely see when that crap is built on the child every single day it could get really tough.

(honestly I'd think it would be pretty dumb if some kid went home an tried hurting themselves because they were indifferent about their sexuality and liked the same gender an had a hiss fit cause some kid said; "ugh this class is so gay I wish it'd be over already"

Using the word gay out of context, i.e. "That's so gay" is aiming towards "That's so stupid" or the other politically incorrect term "That's so retarded", which are all wrong, but again the matter of this boy killin himself isn't because of someone using those words like that. They're were targeting him personally.

Shit like this is exactly why parents need to step up their efforts in public schools, and teach their kids right from wrong, and also teach them that they're better than those punk kids calling them names like "fag, or gay", just turn the cheek show everyone else around them that they're better than that. I know stuff isn't always so easy.

Sometimes it could help to put their child in some sort of home school program if they're struggling on a great level because of these kids ( at least until these bullies are dealt with thorougly), but still let them go enjoy the after school activities such as football, baseball, etc. Most homeschooling is still done through the district they live in so the kids are always able to join in those sort of things.

Obviously there was a big problem on the parenting side too, to lead the child to do this. There's all sorts of factors that build into these kinds of equations.

Oh and P.S. can we keep the oprah winfrey-esc posts off the forums even if it is general chat? Hell I could visit yahoo news or something stupid like that and come here with a new topic on how a kid killed themselves every damn day. It's just stupid, sure it makes for a topic to talk about but really. Are you going to go up to a RL buddy an talk about some poor kid in timbucktoo that offed themself cause they were teased in school? Probably not.

posted a message on New Laptop Suggestions?
Asus has a new laptop out for $899.99, cheap for the specs it has, and Asus is generally a pretty darn good company about it's computers and parts. I had an asus motherboard in my last desktop an loved it to death!.
    Asus

That's the computer, it will definitely run any game out there today, and yes even SC2 / D3 when those are release I'm most sure of.

And this laptop does have a smaller screen and will be lighter to carry around at school, even looks pretty flashy too. All in all it seems like a good buy, unless you don't mind carrying around something a bit bigger,

    For 1149.99 you can buy

    Gateway FX series
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9172511&st=gateway+fx&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1218043606827

Two of my friends own this laptop, it's a hella good gaming rig, and they both use it for their college courses. They just lug it around in a nice laptop bag.

Any questions bout those computers, hit me up in a pm.

I honestly think that asus rig is a great buy for any gamer / college student that wants a laptop computer for under a grand, and wants to play any game out there.

    It's got 4gb pc 6400 ram
    320gb hard drive
    9800m gs graphics card

all of which score a 5.9 in vista's experience index the processor lacks a little but it still works great.

    o ps.
dell owns alienware guys lol they're the same laptops, they're way overpriced considering bang for your buck specs. You can get close to as good for waaaayy cheaper.

Nope doesn't work like that. Your cd keys are bound to the account you made. ( you have to enter them in the account creation screen ), so selling your game disks is pretty pointless, there's free client downloads off of the world of warcraft website even.

I meant it as a job, not a place to live. To each their own I suppose, and of course they'd let you / your family go live there ( at least I'd really hope so ). But it's a job meant for those people who just can't stand others I suppose. Sure it'd be beautiful, and very nice for a while, but shit would get stale and old without being able to just hop in the car an go for a drive through the cities every now an then.

I like how this movie thread got down to losing bees in the planet, sure that was one part brought up in the movie. But the movie was about plants going a-wall cause of that and releasing toxins that were making people lose control of several parts of their brain / nervous system, causing everyone to kill themselves.

I thought the movie was decent, I enjoy most movies starring Mark Wahlberg, he's just a good actor in general, but that being mild at best, most of the movie was a complete snore fest. They were running away from the air, shit does not get anymore boring than that.

I'd rather be a DJ at a strip club, but whatever.

This guys got the right idea, I'd say either dj or I'd even go for a security position. Yall could learn a thing or two from him, playing at a club with half naked women.. or taking care of a island in the middle of nowhere by yourself off the coast of austrailia. Hmm decisions, decisions.

posted a message on new tv
Siay you select the resolution settings in your 360 under console management bs. As far as cables go for hd output you use Component / hdmi cables when it comes to the 360, there's also the option of vga / standard definition. You dont have to buy an hdmi cable for hd picture, you can just use the component cable that came with your system, an use the LR audio. Unless you just want a one simple cable setup for audio / visual. Do not ever buy hdmi cables from retail outlets they charge you out the A-hole. Get them online for about $3-$7

posted a message on new tv
I own a 42in, philips 1080p hdtv, I owned a 720p prior to this, and I must say 1080p is the definite way to go, the resolution is just so much nicer when it comes to watching films and playing games for sure. It all depends on what you want a tv for, plasma hdtvs have amazing picture, where as lcds can take more of a beating, no burnins / last longer, an look very nice at the same time.

Some things you want to look at when you go to choose the tv that fits you include, aspect ratio 16:9 is the best for movies / video games, contrast ratio for white / black levels ( my tv has a 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio), refresh rate, resolution, also check for inputs, it's nice to have a usb for firmware updates (most hdtvs have them these days), a good amount of hdmi and component ports are always a plus too; my television has 4 hdmi, 3 component, 3 standard, 2 svideo..etc. I suppose since you're looking for a tv under 32-42 inches, that 720p would be more suitable for you basically because the picture will just look a little better, most of the 1080p hdtvs under 32 inches have really low contrast levels, which really aren't always that amazing.

In my opinion, LG, Samsung, Sony, Philips, Toshiba, Westinghouse Panasonic..etc. are all pretty decent brands when it comes to hdtvs.0+

The samsung you found on newegg iis a good choice. I owned a 37in 720p before i picked my 42inch up, and i never had a single problem with it, I just wanted a higher resolution. And the 42in i bought was cheaper .. yay for employee discounts :).

http://reviews.cnet.com/720p-vs-1080p-hdtv/ decent review comparing television scaling / resolutions.

There is always the option of buying a monitor if you dont watch regular air televison or cable, you could get a 26in monitor with 1920 x 1200 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, with hdmi, dvi, vga, and in some cases component ports for your gaming and what not, but I guess a tv would be good just to have that ability to kick back an watch shit every now an then on cable or satellite.

posted a message on DII: LoD: Greatness or Nostalgia?
There's only one word I can think of to describe this game, and that word is easily "Amazing". I played diablo religiously for 3-4 years, but I ended up falling into the wretches of the pay to play world some where along the lines an got sucked into wow, and the social atmosphere kept me so long that I pretty much forgot all about the amazingly geared characters I had on D2, it was fun.

The way Diablo 3 is shaping up, it might be the only game I buy the year it comes out. Game publishers think it's a good idea to drain pockets and release an array of video games within 2 - 3 months of eachother, and it quite frainkly burns holes in my pockets, then I end up not being able to play the games I got anyways, cause things happen so radically quick, life changes and you have to choose those games, or work / friends / family / etc, but I know as a hardcore gaming fan, that I'll never forget about the hella good times I had with the diablo games; it's definitely #1 in my book :D.

posted a message on Illegal downloading of music soon to stop?
I know exactly what you're talking about, I just did not quite word my stuff out right, I guess I just think it's wrong; to turn on the evening news and hear about a mother with a young daughter getting fined for thirty-five thousand dollars for sharing music over p2p services.

I know all these big time corporations think nothing but money, cause money is power to most of the world, but to see a family get shattered due to these extremists "trying to set an example" is just wrong, music is a gift, it's something that's everywhere; anyone can make music. But these people throw flash, flare, and fashion into the mix and turn it into something evil, and they use their posse "RIAA" to go around an beat people down for loving music.

    ~my two cents.

posted a message on Illegal downloading of music soon to stop?
I really do get a hearty chuckle out of the RIAA. I think about it like this, there's websites that let you download unlimited amounts of music for small monthly fees, you have the ability to record music straight from the radio / hd radio w/ cassets, and some cases even with cds. Hell I even have a program that I bought at walmart, that allows you to record as much music from internet radio stations as you want.

I mean what the hell are they trying to do? Someones downloading the song straight up from a p2p site, but they dont go breaking doors down for the things I've listed, which are most likely on a high scale if not as high as p2p sharing. It makes me laugh so hard, they're doing it for a quick buck an possible pats on their backs to stroke their own little egos'. It's not like the music industry is crashing, it's growing.. tremendously, look at how much itunes makes, look at all the swag an tickets sold for concerts, they make SHIT tons of cash. Then they try to go around an take single moms for $35,000 fines for downloading a some music.
