I consider myself a casual player, as I can only play a couple hours at night. I know that I will never have the best gear and there is a possibility that I may never find certain items that I would like for my characters. However, I do feel that having season-only legendaries that do not transfer would make me feel like I'm missing out on some of the experience that the game has to offer. Furthermore, if those season-only legs only transferred and did not enter the overall drop pool, then I would feel like I need to play ladders just so I have a chance of experiencing those items.
From my perspective, I think that having the items fall into the general pool at the end of the season is a great compromise. I've been spending 95% of my time on my wizard since RoS came out. I'm certain that I will still not have all of my classes geared to my desired levels by the time the first season ends. Having the items in the drop pool at the end of the season would allow me to focus my efforts on the way I want to play, rather than switching to ladders.
This is where I'm at.
I don't begrudge those that want to go for it, great, go for it.
And I see that this WILL generate new items at something resembling a regular pace, sorta I guess.
If I see the need or want to roll a new character, this IS where I woudl do it, And I might, I have 2 or everything and there are some that I will decide to get rid of. So, While I'm not really the competitive soul some are, I can see it's uses, even from my casual point of view.
I'm not as squishy now and am doing better.
My CDR is now at 47%+, my EB does 320% for three hits each, and is right around a 3 second delay, so it's almost a constant spam if I want. Meteor is right at 8 seconds. I might adjust magic weapon again to more damage if I think energy armor is sufficient.
Stole two Aughild's off my WD that really didn't need them, found a rare better thanmy Leg Quex and I'm doing okay.
BTW, we were running t2 with Wizzy's and T3 when he switched to his WD. WAs fun.
Never have, never will? Why not try something new instead of getting angry and blaming the devs or players that are into ladders or players that want to play together. Seriously what makes them special over you? They are willing to step outside of themselves. Let us live in a world where there is no reward for anything.
Whats that life isnt fair? I must go qq on the forums..
Well. Think about it as very rare items. There are some legendaries you might never see even after six month of farming. That's what season only legendaries will be for you.
Seriously, this talk of fearing other players will get ahead of you playing seasons is rather inconsiderate and selfish. Xp and items might be rolled into regular accounts right after, but ladder player will obviously pex at a much lower rate than you during the levelling phase. They won't be able to loot end game legendaries during this time. They won't be farming torment legendaries anytime soon after reaching 70.
And it's not because those ladder specific legendaries will be new that they'll be more powerfull. There's no garantee you'll get them even while playing ladder...
Seriously. I can see it from here. I'm gonna play ladder. Some friends won't. They'll cry all the way. Right after the end of the season, they'll drop one of those specific legendaries that I never got the chance to see while playing ladder. A perfectly rolled one to boot. Season two will begin, they'll start crying all over again. I'll tell them " Dude, I levelled a brand new character for a shot at getting this item. I never did. You got a perfect one right after the end of the season while busting my shards all along. So, if you don't shut up about season 2 ladder legendaries I swear I'm gonna f*cking kill you." And nobody will ever talk again about ladder ruining the fun for non ladder players.
So just chill, enjoy the game your way. Think about you can gain, and not about what other could gain by playing a different way that you do not enjoy.
One day you might want to try something different and play ladder. And once you do You'll be glad there's a bit more of an incentive to it.
Awful argument might I say? I mean really yeah we will eventually get them, but you're avoiding our whole point which is, Why do ladder players feel so entitled to special legendaries? Why not just add legendaries and make them universally accessible? I don't play ladder, never have never will. Don't like the idea of restarting my progress. I enjoy my non ladder characters that I've sunk numerous hours into. Why do I have to wait? What makes you so damned special over me? Are ladder players gods? Do I need to sacrifice the Lord of Bells to RNJesus? I mean I don't get what's so complicated here. You're getting an entitlement for playing the game roughly the exact same way as I am; For no reason at all! It's not fair, just like I don't like the MP buff, What makes people who play co-op so special over those who solo? They have a HUGE advantage over SP players for 0 reason. Also the reason I dislike the way rifts got a 100% leg buff, Why did rifts get it but not all of Adventure mode? What made rifts so special versus everything else? You already got shards in rifts and bounties, why do we need a higher drop rate? If the drop rate was bad in rifts doesn't that mean it's bad everywhere? Seriously some stupid design choices by the Blizzard Dev team. I don't understand why they've decided to make a right way to play and a wrong way to play, I thought we were supposed to play how we wanted to...guess that was never an option.
"What makes you so damned special over me?"
Because they're doing something about it given the circumstances.
If you want it, work for it. If not, wait for it later on.
Working for it isn't "special".
Wanting something for nothing is "entitilment" mentality.
And I get it, I don't want to do ladders, so youknow what, I'm just gonna wait for it...
Well, see, that's good feedback right off the bat. ( I am a DH player for a long time, Just branching out to the Wizard/WD mostly.)
1. EB is just plain fun for me, I use chain, with three hits at 320% I think? Someone said they use short fuse, dunno. I do not have either of those legs yet, I do see their benefit, just haven't seen anything drop yet, but I'm just getting going.
2. I have a helm with a socket I could increase CD with, but I lose 8% or better damage if I remember correctly, so I need a better helm for that. It does something to enable mirror images to multiply when they die I think?
3. Audacity for Glass Cannon I think right up front.
4. I have two RoRG's, and I think one's not really being effectively used. Aughild's might be best first use?
Is the Firebird set of any use to pursue, or should I double up on Aughild's and I dunno, Another elite damage/reduction set partial? Is there a crafted that's particularly good for Wizards?
I pieced together a fire build, off the cuff, left over gear, and have been running this, just T1 soloingmind you, but it's a lot of chaos and fun, good damage condsidering my gears total crap so far, But it is a blast, hehe.
I toss a black hole/blazar which sucks em in and explodes, and before it even explodes I toss a meteor/molten impact, then mirror image mimics for 20% damage, and I use explosive blast/chain reaction and run in circles under their feet while all this is hitting, total chaos, and it melts everything BUT rift guardians. I gotta get my damage up.
No real defensive anything on the build, maybe explosive blast if you want to stretch it. Fan of knives on shoulders. I do have pretty good cooldown rates though, can about spam explosive constantly.
Crazy or what?
Anyone have a suggestion on maybe better passives? Maybe Audacity instead of Glass Cannon?
How can you walk trough it "till the end"? Doesnt a rift automaticaly generate new levels till you are at 100%?
Rifts come pre loaded with their levels up to 10.
I have done multi levels and got to the teleport stone before maxxing bar, had to go back through the door to the previous to complete the bar. So, it CAN happen, especially if you're just blowing through full speed and not clearing the map.

Made a few adjustments, dropped the mirror images, adjusted magic weapon to defelction and energy armor in place of mirror with prismatic.

And then squash it.

And I don't agree that it makes anything worse for the casual player. If they are truly casual, it's all good.

Mostly useless, but stuff IS dropping, and the salvaging is still appreciated.

So Rain of Toads works quite well...
