I think this is a bad idea. At least in it's current form of revealing a cave of goblin packs. I already feel like I'm missing out on loot if I don't open every chest or destroy every breakable I find, as I get more legendaries from those than actually killing monsters. I don't want to also feel like I miss out if I don't click every loose stone too. Then we might as well remove all the monsters and just make the game all about clicking stuff around the world. :/
This ideology of missing the "loot that might have been" amuses me. You're worried about not hitting a loose stone that might uncover another path that has a goblin that might drop something other than gem/gem/arcane dust/arcane dust/yellow/yellow.

Sounds like you have been playing a little bit too much of Wildstar :P
This is spot on. I think an injection of random Wildstar events into a game like Diablo 3 would not only be sweet, but fits perfectly. Something above and beyond Moontooth Dreadshark being guaranteed to pop outta some rubble. They've forced Rifts on us as the only (read: most efficient) way to farm because they're not exploitable, but there's a fair amount of complaints because of their monotony. Bounties are a means to an end (Rifts), so added things like this "goblin cave" could have merit. I think TIMED dungeons with ultra-hard end bosses and no rez save through a friendly player is the way to go to add excitement to the game.
    I'm glad I amuse you :)

My point is, I already feel it's more beneficial to just open chests and destroy breakables for loot even though I never do chest runs specificly. I'm sure most people know by now that most loot drop from those rather than packs of mobs, as my friends and I can't be the only ones seeing this. Adding yet another thing to watch for and click whenever you see it to be most optimal when hunting for loot, just ruin the game even more imo. As I see it, Diablo should be about killing monsters to get rewards and upgrades. The more we move the most rewarding gameplay away from killing packs of monsters, towards having to click and destroy static objects, the more boring the game will be imo. I don't mind the chance of getting stuff from those things. But when it's THE best way to get stuff, I feel the game has taken a wrong turn somewhere.

I'm sorry for ranting a little, but this is one of the single most annoying things about the game atm as far as I'm concerned.

Edit: Loose stones already has a chance of dropping loot btw. I got my latest templar relic from one of those. That should be enough.

Well, even though I say I'm convinced I'm cursed or bugged, it doesn't really mean that believe it even though I can't help feeling something might be up. I'm sure it's just bad rng, but at the same time you also have to consider that since the game has smart loot influencing drops, it's not that out there to think that the system can also bug or 'get stuck in a loop' or whatever you want to call it, decreasing your drop rates too. I'm not saying it is so, but it could happen. I doubt a new IP would fix anything though, and even if it could, that's not an option to me as I have static IP.

I'm btw not farming inefficiently. I farm mostly T1, doing rifts in full parties and have 1.3m sheet dps + 36% to fireskills, using a fire build. So I know it's not that. Even if it were, that doesn't explain how a streamer can get 3-5 drops in 1 rift, while I consistently go anywhere between 5-10 before seeing a drop. Rng can do that, but having bad rng for a week or two? That seem excessive imo. Or I'm just the unluckiest Diablo 3 player. Who knows. :)

I know what you mean. I'm sure people will say it's just RNG and maybe it is, but I'm getting it too atm.

I was watching Modz's stream yesterday while he was rifting while rifting myself, and he got 11 legs in an hour. I got 1. It's just depressing really. I've played for many hours every day since ROS release, and the last week or so, I've gotten maybe 2-4 legs pr day on average while often playing 5-8 hours, and always crap items that goes straight for salvage, even though my gear is pretty bad so most stuff should be upgrades. :/

I can easily go 5-10 rifts without seeing any legendary or forgotten soul drop myself. I'm sure my account is bugged or something. :/
