My personal opinion is that Ladders are a mistake, a death-nail to many social avenues. As well, I feel we'd all be better off if they'd spend time dev'ing complex (all-inclusive) modes like Tiered Rifts, Uber Events and other challenges which could bring competition to Diablo 3. Ladders are an antiquated and borrowed idea, rife with issues that I believe will create a schism in the player base and likely be seen as a mistake, a waste of time and development resources.
Sorry, but I have to say, there is no such thing as a death nail. A death knell is the tolling of the bell indicating one's death and would the appropriate phrase here. Although it's probably not unlikely there's a Rare called "Death Nail" in the game.

Just had to post because I've seen "death nail" twice this week now, and that's an annoying new one for me.

If you want to play competitively, you know what your incentive is? The competition. If they opened season ladders with no new exclusive items, guess what? The people that care about competing for progress would play in it and compete. The people that don't care wouldn't be "incentivized" into playing a way they don't like. Nobody loses and it still adds variety to the game. I don't see why people that want to compete feel they should get something for being competitive. Give the top players at the end of the season something, sure. They "won". But not to every Joe Teenager who can play 4 hours a day so he thinks seasons are the bee's knees.

Yea, but 500 shards takes what, 10 minutes now? I'm betting if you had spend 2500-3k shards, you'd be seeing something more substantial.

In terms of items it's pretty simple: anything with an orange bullet.
Pretty much this. And procs. But if you're making a list, you forgot % area damage.

According to Blizzard: Caches did not drop torment-only drops. Now they do, if you get them in Torment. T2-T6 will give you a higher chance (of any legendary) than T1.
No, thats not true. Torment-only Legendarys can only be obtained at Torment-Rifts or from Kadala.
Sorry, my bad. I was just trying to consolidate what people had said in this thread. I was not making any claims of my own accord. I retract everything!

T1 was never supposed to have its Cache Legendary drop rate changed and it seems that it hasn't had it changed.
Whether Torment-only Legendaries can drop from Caches at all is still somewhat disputed, see discussion above.
I don't get where you see that it's "still somewhat disputed". The only thing questioned above the likelihood of people in the past trolling when they said they got Torment-only legendaries from caches.

any pack that isn't an corrupted angel, exarch, anarch, succubus, fallen or those chuckling skeleton guys who summon small skeletons (forgot the name). just.. just don't run away while I murder you guyz! D:
Ugh. Yes. The most annoying thing to find: Cursed chest with 5 rounds that summons those douchey running skeleton summoners. If I don't get a bonus chest, they are ALWAYS to blame.

posted a message on Rift it Forward
    It's super easy.

    Join the community.

Open a rift. Clear the rift. Leave the boss up.

Say in chat "T2 100%, 3 slots, highest plvl opens"

    - It's important that you designate who opens to eliminate confusion. Once your group is full, tell everyone in party who is assigned to open the next rift. (Common rules are: Highest/lowest plvl, first/last to join. You can make up your own rules)

Kill boss, profit. The guy you assigned opens a new rift for you. Free rifts!

After you've done some rifting, you should feel free to sit in the channel and request invites when people post similar messages. You gotta be fast though, because you have approx .5-2 seconds to request an invite before the group will be full. Don't be a jackwad leech though. You should be clearing a rift for every 3 you join to complete.

posted a message on 2-handers are underwhelming? I think so.
    Quote from Willey1986

The main problem is the active resource regeneration in D3. 2H are much slower so u get less resources which results in lesser use of spenders which results in less damage. To keep up with DW u need a lot of resource cost reduction or passive resource regeneration.
Yes, 2h-ers would probably need about 2x resource generation for me to even consider one, if it could SOMEHOW match my autoattack DPS.

Honestly, using Thunderfury and Odyn Son (with a stupid crappy damage roll), there's not a 2h-er in the game I could use, regardless of any rolls it got. Hell, it could have 2 sockets with perfect stats and it would still be a loss for me. 2h-ers are in a bad way right now. Really annoying as I could have a 3-piece IK set bonus if I was willing to wield that stupid IK 2h-er.

posted a message on Idea RE:Trading of Items
No. The biggest issue with trading is that it creates an economy. It will FLOOD the market with items and everything will be 20x easier to get except the top of the top tier (Think AH days, because that's EXACTLY the result, just with less efficiency).

The only possible solution for Blizzard would be to nerf drop rates to pre 2.0 levels. Yay, now nobody likes the game again.

posted a message on Thoughts on ROS and Diablo 3 in general - What's still missing.
Gotta agree 100% on the crit thing. Never seen a game where every class' main offensive ability is based on critical hits. Seems odd, and really removes the impact of critical hits from the game. If 60% of my hits are critical hits.. is there really anything special about them? Although I see it being very difficult to remove this functionality without an overhaul of tons of skill runes, itemization, etc. Just seems odd, and makes crits just another core stat for every class, nothing special to see here. Hell, even the tankiest class in the game will focus on getting well over 50% crit chance... that's silly.

As far as trading goes, I'm of a mixed mind. You make a good point in regards to perhaps getting unlucky and never getting the item you're looking for. At the same time, if trading is allowed, an economy exists, and all the headaches that come along with it. Not to mention highly-desired items would be entering the game at a far faster pace (Because lots of great items are salvaged/vendored because they're not better for the receiver). Which means they'd either have to lower the drop rate (ew) or do something else to control the flood of items. Seems like a nasty thing to try to fix. Not sure what I'd like for that, although I'd definitely say the current system is better than if they just opened up trading.

Split farming I love as a farming technique, but it does make me reluctant to ever gather rift keys on my own. How can I validate the time spent when I'm literally getting 1/3 the caches and rift keys I could be (And that's assuming I'm far more efficient at bounties than my 3 team members, could be even more than 4x as fast) I agree that it's a minor issue, but I can't think of anything to correct it that doesn't just nerf it directly.
