posted a message on Remember the time when..............??..............

I remember when Monk's could spam Mantra of Healing and give you and your party a shield of 80% of your hp (and where Serenity - Tranquility would apply 1 sec immortality to your party members). And the only way to get through Inferno A2-4 was tank Monk (even back then we were just a tool).

I remember having everyone going solo after A2 Inferno was more or less unbeatable in a party, but eventually all the glass-cannons/kiters would get stuck at Belial and as an "immortal" Monk I would spend 45 mins killing him, so I could create a game in A3 where the rest could join and then keep on progress through A3 and 4.

Does TLK cost too much spirit with the new changes or is this a way of giving the “ranged fire build” a buff? At least my thought was going for the http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/gyana-na-kashu and TLK with the rune Vulture Claw Kick. However, I am not sure if it’s compatible with anything :)

Perhaps it is their way of making Inna's viable again? With the new 20% res increase to mantra of salvation this give the 4 set bonus a lot more value and with the new increase to life regen?. Plus with the incraese of SW stacks this means it will probably take more time to get it to max stacks and then to keep it at max stack 24/7 just spam SW because of the Inna's 3 set bonus... I like :)

posted a message on Fire Monk questions - Any advice would be helpful.

I am curently playing my firemonk as:

    http://www.diablofans.com/forums/diablo-iii-class-forums/monk-the-inner-sanctuary/85897-how-to-bring-the-damages-monk-style

This ofc requires a lot of CD reduction, but I am using both dashing and epiphany. I would defenedly swap rune on palm, the fire one is just pure crap, I would say swap to the 20% dmg incraese, work wonders on single target mobs, and since you ain't running with pull (defenedly not enough spirirt regen to it either) I wouldn go with the Strong Spirit rune (which is a nice combo/spirit regen with pull).

Mantra I normaly go with Conviction - Annihilation, or Overawe when soloing, or 2-3 people in a group (if you got the dps the increased movement speed work wonders in gruops), this also making it possible for another passive then unity. Else I use Mantra of Healing - Time of need with a group of 4 and Unity as passive.

Sweeping wind, LTK and palm is imo too much spirit used like ballon said, and this is where I normaly would recomment Epiphany - Inner fire, since it just evaporates elite packs, but I am not sure how it feels without CD reduction. Try fire ally, or air ally instaed perhaps for either more dmg or more LTK spamming?

As long as you hover around 40-50% crit chance your stat prio is as you said your self. I have seen monks go with Cyclone strike - Sunburst, Sweeping wind - Inner storm, and Palm, and then without LTK (LTK is usualy best when having the  Gyana Na Kashu). Perhaps give it a try.

posted a message on Pure tank monk build/gear

    Hello fellow monks

Nice guide. Just wanted to add some of my tanking monk experience, since I recently picked up the way of the tanky monk. Up until 2 weeks ago I played and focused on building a fire monk. Trying to go the way of CD reduction and no spirit generator seemed like fun and worked really well. I could easily clear t2 solo and doing t3 in groups and could manage t4 (didn't focus much on toughness so died a lot). And it just seemed like me and my group were stuck on the gap between t3 and t4 and I didn’t feel like I could contribute much more then I already did to the group.
Then I found http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/item/the-fist-of-azturrasq and everything changed. With my current gear (fire/dmg oriented) I swapped to a different specc and tried out Exploding Palm. Suddenly clearing t4 seemed doable and even with my low toughness we started clearing it like the pace we had on t3. In a few days I had some proper tank items and we started clearing t5.
Now for once, it feels like I am not "dragging" the group, but actually running it. No more sitting on the edge of my seat watching my HP like a hawk and running away like a scared chicken when elites spawned poison/molten/arcane etc.. With roughly 40 mil toughness, 1400 allres, 50% CD reduction I can basically stand in whatever I like. My dmg is bad (200k dps) but whenever 1 mob in an elite pack die the rest does as well. This of cause mean there is no way to solo like this, and it is purely a group build.

I am currently using a no spirit generator build, and instead having a lot of "gain spirit" items. But I am thinking about throwing away Air Ally to get a spirit generator, and using a http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/artisan/blacksmith/recipe/the-helm-of-rule

This is my build and gear

    Build: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#VPfjdQ!VbXh!ZaZbbc

    Gear: http://www.diabloprogress.com/hero/gerdi-2165/Galaxious/26211

Suddenly I am needed in a group, and not "just another dps" - Feels nice.
