Jul 27, 2006AcidReign posted a message on Blizzards Diablo team hiring!I remember when I bought WC3 within the week of it's realease. I spent $80... I bought the game and guide. I played for like half a year and then just got sick of it. Then I went right back to Diablo and stayed there ever since.Posted in: News

Jul 13, 2006AcidReign posted a message on The Final Diablo 3 is Coming argumentI'd expect a company like Blizzard to have a new game for each franchise finished once every 2-3 years... It's been like 5 years since LoD.... Perhaps they have turned their heads more towards business strategies now that WoW has set in.Posted in: News

Jul 12, 2006AcidReign posted a message on Blizzards Diablo team hiring!Well, what do you think the Diablo team is up to? Do you think they are getting paid to sit on their asses all day twidling their thumbs? Think again you non-believers.Posted in: News

Jul 11, 2006AcidReign posted a message on The Final Diablo 3 is Coming argumentBlizzCon is not intended as an annual event, I as far as I know, they haven't even begun thinking about having one this year. I believe Blizzard stated that they would now announce games at BlizzCon instead of at E3. So if there is no BlizzCon this year, the earliest for an annoucement after that would be BlizzCon 2007.Posted in: News
Blizzard has ~3 monthes to get things organized for BlizzCon if they decide to have another one this year. Do you think they have anything that could possibly be showcased there this year other than WoW: Burning Crusade?
If you think no, then tell me what the rest of the StarCraft and Diablo teams are doing... Twindling their thumbs? -

The team behind Diablo I and II is looking for an exceptional Lead 3D Character Animator to work on an unannounced PC Project. (Gee, can you make it a little more obvious? roflmao @ Blizzard)

Well obviously everyone wants it to be the next best game, but starting as good or evil has flamed up some pretty interesting discussions. Do you want the game to be similar as the previous two installments? A character with a strong will and a heart of good trying to destroy the forces of evil? Or do you want something new? A character with a corrupted soul without mercy trying to defeat the good in the world? Either one would be interesting to try, but I've always been interested in defeating evil, and I will continue to do so in the next installment, even if there are evil classes.

Starting Location:
Small village in the Arreat Mountains, Hugall
Quest Recieved From:
Deckard Cain
Primary Quest:
Venture up the Rocky Trail to the Secret Cavern leading into the Worldstone Chamber. Search the chamber for Tyrael and bring him to safety. We need him to discuss the future of Sanctuary. Don't be surprised if the explosion has killed him.
Side Quest:
Search the rubble inside the chamber for a relatively clean Worldstone Shard. We can use it to repel some demons on our journey.
Description:
As you leave the village andwork your way up the trail, you will be constantly hacking and slashing your way through some of the remains of Baal's legions. There are a few trails that lead to dead ends, and some to treasure, but you will ultimately come to the Secret Cavern. Slash your way through the spiders and the unseen. You will come to the Worldstone Chamber. After searching the rubble, you will discover Baal's Soulstone (laying on the ground) is drawing energy from Tyrael's dying body, along with other various Worldstone Shards. You will slay the weakened Tyrael, and take Baal's Soulstone. As you venture back to the village, it is has been raided and in flames. You are taken captive by a demon horde, and they steal Baal's Soulstone from you, and leave you sit in the middle of the burning village. (If you would have taken one of the clean Worldstone Shards in the chamber, then the demons would have ended up taking that instead, allowing you to carry Baal's Soulstone to the next quest, where it will be lost for sure).
Rewards:
Remaining loot from the burning village

You'd make certain runewords out of items and when combined with other runewords, they would provide bonuses. Much like the sets in Diablo II : LoD, runeword sets allow the player to make a set out of the armor/weapons, but the player would have the choice of items to use.
This would make it very interesting. Casters could choose armors with low strength and they could make it into a runeword set item. This would make it nearly impossible for any character NOT to be able to equip a set. They would just need the right items.

The cinematic breaks out with the typical "Blizzard Entertaintment Presents", along with a low rumbling in the background against a rusted and worn background (similar to the Act cinematics in Diablo II). As the letters light on fire and become brighter, the screen becomes a blinding flash and soon the angle scrolls down to view Mount Arreat. The screen fades into a scene inside the Worldstone Chamber.
Inside the Chamber, the shards of the Worldstone keep falling and soon it skips to a frame where Tyrael bursts out of a huge pile of shards on the ground. He is battered and wounded. He soon falls back down, panting and his wings are twitching among the rest of the wreckage. He leans back and the screen focuses on a large glowing, throbbing shard imbedded in Tyrael chest. Tyrael yells out, "Nooooooooooo!" and the screen fades back to the original rusted and worn background.
Soon a familiar voice is heard. Baal.
"Muwhahaha! The plan is underway! The complete destruction of the Worldstone has Hell's attention, as well as my Brothers'. The barriers between planes are shattered, and our vengeance upon the High Heavens shall be our last." (During this narration, it shows the Legions of Hell in formation, awaiting orders for seige. It also shows the High Heavens - with their innocence unknowingly threatened).
"Diablo walks the Earth, along with his untamed armies from unknown depths. His Terror will once again corrupt the souls that encounter his inevitable presence." (This cinematic shows Diablo marching his armies over the plains of the Khanduras).
"Mephisto also makes his return, this time, off of his throne - threatening the Paladin temples of the East. His army of undead hordes also accompany him in our quest to overtake all realms." (This cinematic shows undead armies ravaging temples and taking orders from the Lord of Hatred).
"Azmodan and Belial have put an end to their stalemate, and have agreed to once again join us in our dominance over the Seraphim and their home in the Heavens. Their Horned Death army is as strong as it has ever been, and they plan to take it to the plane of the mortals." (This cinematic shows Azmodan and Belial marching the Horned Death over the plains of Hell).
"Andariel and Duriel are left in Hell. Our home must be kept safe. Andariel's punishment is to summon the succubi day after day, since her defense of the Monastery was pathetic and weak. Duriel's punishment is to carve out our new fortress, since he allowed the Mighty One to aquire Tyrael's counsel." (This cinematic shows Andariel conducting summoning rituals, as well as Duriel's burrowing talent as he digs the fortress out).
"And as for me, Baal, (screen goes black for a moment) well, I'm just hoping our plan is going to go as planned, muwhahahaha! (screen fades in and shows Baal controlling Tyrael's body and laughing the whole time). And as for the Great Conflict - Evil. Will. Win! (Cuts to a scene of Seraphim rushing towards a legion of demons and just before they clash, the screen flashes and the Diablo III logo comes sailing in with a black background with rapid orchestra music playing in the background. Fades to black. End of cinematic)

Because I think Blizzard enjoys maximizing profit, and what better way to do so than to host the game on both machines.
Why not for the Wii?
The console versions of the game will most likely be the same for the PC, and I figure Diablo III will be like the Diablo's of old: Hack and Slash. Hacking and slashing with the Wiimote will probably get very tiresome, as well as the guiding of spells and missiles.
