What is cartoony about Diablo 3????? I don't get it. Someone please show me a picture that makes Diablo 3 look cartoony.
The only colors allowed in real life are grey, brown, and black. The only games worth playing only use these three colors. Behold the massive, gorgeous, blockbuster Hellgate:
Blargh, someone posted a before and after now I have to post one too
Oh, I forgot the puce walls and cyan floors and orange robes and pink skeletons:

Im sorry to say this but your bias against Roper caused because of your fanatic, or lets just say "strong" opinions seems a bit too obvious to me. Do you realize that you are bashing the person who worked on pretty much every single Blizzard game so far, including even D1? I think just not WoW.
Which strong opinions are those? That an okay voice actor and lying PR guy doesn't deserve as much attention as Bill gets? Or the one that memes aren't news and belong in forums, not news posts? (Why aren't we talking about Longcat here instead, srsly?) Or the one that there are gamma and contrast sliders, and are other assured means to reduce color and saturation?
I agree we all need to stop giving Bill the attention he craves and just shun the guy already. Posting news items about him only makes him stronger, after all.
Here's a couple shots to remind everyone of the carebear esque rainbowland bs we're gonna have to put up with in D3 since this is somehow still getting attention:

Who did create Diablo series and made D1, D2, LOD?
Blizzard South. They were the ones who pushed for them to make it realtime.
Btw, I took the liberty of fixing your gamma and contrast settings. Your eyes can thank me later:
If... you really like playing with black blobs, I assure you Diablo 3 will support your desired slider settings.
Furries are fans of anthropomorphic animals - that is, animals with humanoid characteristics. Such as Bugs Bunny, the Ninja Turtles, and the Druid from Diablo II. A percentage of them have disturbing fetishes on a varying scale of wrong, such as the dreaded furpile or the crime against humanity that babyfurs are. The "otherkin" people; those are just sad. They have a a measurable impact on popular culture.
But enough talk about such unimportant things that'll horrify you if you googled them; I have to give my guy some skillz:
Tentacles of Rue
Tentacles erupt from your back and periodically deal damage to adjacent enemies for two minutes.
Scorpion Sting
Rapidly stings up to three adjacent enemies for X poison damage over Y seconds.
Dire Claw
A crab's claw erupts from your side and crushes an enemy in melee, ignoring X% armor.
Atomic Fire Breath
Belch forth an acidic plume of burning radiation to a nearby area.
You all know you want some Godzilla-esque atomic fire breath, though you may have gone unaware of this need until now.
They haven't made a patch to remove the character crippling designs (black death, mana eating shrine), they could shuffle it off to players to fix and update already.
Not a fan of the sprite limit crippling Chain Lightning, either.
It would be super, to see mods that go beyond adding satyrs back into the game. To the possible degree of creating skills for each class.
They talked about using expanding inventory space as another type of reward. 120 slots is what that interface limits it to, who knows how things will end up as.
It looks similar in the inventory as it does on the guy. You peoples haven't been watching that video at least once every day since the announcement? Weiiird.
Very sure they said armor pieces will look different to different classes and genders. So if a barbarian trades his gladiator-lookin' armor with bull horns to a witchdoctor, the witch dude will see it look like a pile of leaves. And if a female barbarian trades her top to a male barbarian, you won't have to see his man cleavage.
Here you go. As you can see, I am an excellent artist. Go ahead and put this up on the weekly fanart news thingy.
If I had to put money on things, I'd guess the two remaining classes are tentacle knight and druid archer guy. Cause... tentacles are awesome. And they have to appeal to the furries.
First thing they said "Diablo 3 - Diablo 2, now, with pants!"
I am kind of bummed out that it looks like there's only three basic armor sets per class; esp how the witchdoctor in her art looks like she just has more leaves piled up on her. I can understand why they don't want the wizard to have bullhorns jutting out of her stomach, but it'd be cool to have more variety.
Which is a massive farce, since the Wizard is a sorceress with a facelift. You're gonna get an archer (who almost certainly will have a pet) and you're gonna get another melee guy. Don't lose your monocle if they moosh the druid with the amazon, or the rogue with the assassin.
Blargh, since we're just spinning our wheels here, I'll list her spells here redundantly for no reason:
Spectral Blade
Stone Skin
Mirror Image
Meteor Storm
Acid Cloud (aka cloudkill, best spell ever)
Hydra
Magic Weapon
Magic Missile
Disintegrate
Wave of Force
Arcane Orb
Slow Time
Temporal Armor
Teleport
Charged Bolt
Storm Armor
Frost Nova
Electrocute
Ray of Frost
Tornado
Blizzard
Well that's one minute killed. Two more years to go.
To reiterate some stuff to kill a couple more seconds:
* They're going to have far fewer passive skills than they had in the show build. They went a little crazy with them, to add some zazz.
* Each tree is more like its own self-sufficient kit. For example, the Barbarian has a few large AoE skills: Seismic Slam, Whirlwind, Zoomy Dash. Each in a different tree. Which means instead of stuff like Curses / Death Magic / Summoning or Traps / Martial Arts / Shadow Artz, the interconnecting ability types would be mixed up a bit. A Diablo 3 style Assassin would have had physical martial arts with the steel traps, and a magical martial arts tree with a few elemental traps.
But you say, that there are less active spells/skills.
The wizard has had 21 active skills revealed so far. And supposedly the blizzcon demo had another row with nothing in it yet. So probably around 25 active skills for each class. Which'd be an upgrade for the Barbarian at the very least. (Weapon masteries what were they thinking lul.)
Nowhere near the trainwreck of Hellgate. 6 classes! Fewer skills than Diablo 2.
Those images came from a pretty big game's website... Joystickkkk I think. They've since taken them down as they are wuss bags.
You're not allowed to play that demo, you're not even ALLOWED TO LOOK AT IT.
It's the same attitude CAVE suddenly got up their butts - god help them if someone actually cares about their games.
So anyway. Highlights from the UI:
Your character is so epic, there is a stain glass window of them in your character sheet screen. That epic. Stain glass window.
Plague of Frogs has a cute little froggie as its spell icon. So cute!
Wish I could share these things outside of lame textual descriptions. But, that would have required me to save them to my hard disk! And then the gestapo would put me put against the wall if I did!
Heat death of the universe will happen before you'll see an official screen with (something useful) some UI showing.

Meh, maybe prestige pay to drop armor, who knows.

This train is on its way to Fancytown.

These are almost certainly the Joystiq pics we've all already seen. That was back during the Blizzcon week.
They show the LCS, a few skill screens, and a couple pics around the town.
Oh, and the character select screen. Which was pretty cool.
