Think about D2. Of course Barbs won't use a sword if Axes generally have a better damage output. Naturally, a Paladin will grab a mace-class Hoto as its the best way to boost their overpowered skill. It wasn't so much about the lack of classes able to utilize a sword, it was about the balancing issues. Swords sucked unless you used them for runewords,
why bother if the damage is worse than using another weapon?

Best 1h sword, best 1h axe. Very very little difference, and the 2h axe/swords actually there is NO difference in DPS. IMO, it is well worth going 2h sword for the extra range (3 units on a 2h sword whereas 1 unit on any other 1h wep). Back in the day before elite uniques and runewords, there were tons of sword/shield barbs. The only other barb builds were 1hit-zerk-lancers.
And please, how many paladins do you see running around with a Grief phase blade (or other builds like melee sorc with 6x shael PB, or kicksins with Last Wish PB)?
In WC3 the paladin kinda sucked, definitely not the best hero. The best 1v1 would be the mountain king, followed by the blademaster. I never like WoW so I won't comment there. In Diablo they we average, with items like enigma and grief, a couple builds (smiter/hammerdin) became a little better than average. There won't be a 'Paladin' in Diablo 3, but there will probably be something similar.
Even if what you are saying is true, because a name is attached to an archtype that was better than average does not mean that same name shouldn't be used for another character in future games. Doesn't make to much sense.

It seems sad and helpless, but the difference between both candidates are minimal. The nominees are put in that position for a reason, and that reason is to keep things going the way they are and to not bring change to the white house. It doesn't matter who wins, the president will be yet another pawn in the chess board of the super-powerful bankers and those born into the true wealth of the USA. These select few people hold the entire country by the balls in their monetary slavery scheme that devours most of the first world. To free our world of this oppression and slavery, we must realize and denounce the situation that we are in right now. We, as a society, must be the change we want to see.
Man, a Starcraft MMO would be so cool IMO. I'm so tired of the 'fantasy' shit that has the same old boring crap. I want to rip shit up with a flamethrower or as a zergling.
And if 2 disintegrate wizards fight each other in a duel, then their beams cancel out half way. And after struggling for a while, the wizard that has the better constipation face overpowers the other, and the other wizard gets shot into space.
Also, it doesn't make much sense that every blue piece of armor above splint mail sold for the max gold cost. And also any wand/staff/class specific that had a couple +2 to any skills.
And I think blizz is allowing you to spend gold on guild cities, siege weaponry, and mounts, along with the respecs

Yeah I agree with both points. Terrans are divided into factions as it is, and you need to remember that characters are supposed to wear upgradable gear.
I'm hoping there would be a Diablo MMO but I seriously doubt it would happen.
I know it is unlikely. All the MMO's are boring ass cookie cutter dwarf/elf/human/orc yadda yadda and it gets stupid. I know that it would be incredibly hard to install an item system that includes non-homonoid beasts, but I can dream.
