Yeah you need IAS gloves like you said. Problem for you is you're starting to get up there where upgrades cost a lot and also have a domino effect (you upgrade something but then you need to change another piece just to make the first upgrade work). The cheapest direct upgrade may be as you mentioned: Lacunis with high crit and armor (since you got good all res but less than 4k armor). You're also missing armor on shoulders.

Another cheap huge DPS boost can come in the forum of an IAS Unity (you will gain damage, 200+ LoH but lose a tiny amount of Vit). In a perfect world, I would tell you to switch your Storm Crow too for a high crit Mempo (cause you have a very nice Chantodo set) but then again that would cost... a looot. You also may need another LoH source for this upgrade too.

***Edit***: Never mind on the Storm Crow you need it. Just noticed your offhand doesn't have APoC.

No idea about the terrorists in Keep Depths... I've believe I've survived them before but probably only with group buffs. They generally still one-shot me both in CM and Archon. I never tried going EHP heavy though, like some people try running Archon with 200-300k DPS, 100k+ life, high res and armor. For me to try something like that would require a few billion gold and would STILL result in massive DPS loss, so I'm not too motivated for it. I'd rather just wait for 1.0.8 and play Archon in groups so I don't need that much EHP, and still keep sheet DPS of 450k+ unbuffed / 600k+ buffed.

This is all Archon though, not CM. For CM you should never really go EHP heavy like that. I have ~45k life, ~1k LoH, ~730 res, ~4.4k armor and it allows me to run around MP10 freely farming in full DPS SNS spec without any problems at all. I rarely get killed by terrorists if I'm paying attention and perma-freeze them or run away correctly.

Ain't been playin' much lately, but when I do I'm always running BM now.

I ditched the whole Dagger/Triumvirate thing I was doing and went back to Chantodo's @ 2.74+. I finally managed to pull well past the 300k mark I wanted while maintaining 2.74+ IAS, currently sitting at sheet DPS of 351k (buffed) which shoots all the way up to 411k with Deep Freeze. I tried Glass Cannon too for a while but I think the damage increase from it is so minimal compared to the survivability you lose, so I switched back to Evocation.

As far as defensives go, could use more armor but I think I'm doing just fine. Keeping all res @ ~730, and coupled with the above mentioned damage/speed setup; as well as 1014 LoH, I can sometimes do silly things like facetank desecrators + arcane beams.

Definitely recommend BM for anyone with similar gear setups.

I currently use a very nice dagger on my CM Wiz. However, it has dex. Probably a long shot, but if anyone has or comes across a similar one with int, I would be interested in trade negotiations.

    Stats:
    ------------------------------
    1091.6 DPS (460-851)
    1.66 Attacks per Second

    +240 Minimum Damage
    +261 Maximum Damage
    +49% Damage
    +106 Dexterity
    Attack Speed by 11%
    Critical Hit Damage by 72%

True - this set-up does require you to get Inna's pants. I use 190 vit / 9% ones for extra EHP. I even still use an old school 6% / 6% Zuni boots with ~70 int and ~60 resists. It was a bit of a challenge to reach the breakpoint but the end result was good, especially considering the massive amount of elemental damage bonuses from this set-up (Triumvirate, Storm Crow, Zunis, Tal Rasha neck).

To be honest the whole idea kinda came to me after stumbling over a quite exceptional Tal Rasha's Allegiance. The thing had 5% Cold dmg, 213 int, 131 vit, 726 LoH, 62% CHD and 10% CC.

At an unbuffed 2.73 APS, 56.50% CC & 287% CHD (without emerald); totaling 263k DPS (with emerald), I got a sheet DPS increase by switching from emerald to ruby. It was a small increase though. It only took it to 266k DPS.

I'm currently running a black 1.66 APS dagger + socket / APoC Triumvirate / Tal Rasha neck / Storm Crow gear set-up. I used to do 3.01 APS with a 1.65 socket Chantodo and old school Zunimassa boots, but was eventually convinced 3.0 was overkill and decided to jump from 200k DPS with it to 300k DPS @ 2.73. Didn't quite make it (yet), but I'm happy with the results so far.

Whoever wrote that guide needs to quit and uninstall the game.

Yes. The guy who wrote that guide does indeed need to uninstall the game. Then have his PC thrown out the window. Never mind it's probably a Mac.

Seriously though, this is the bottom line:

You do not need any CHD as a CM Wizard.

    Sincerely,

You will NOT farm as efficiently with Wizard as you do with Barbarian.

Wizard getting some buffs to underused skills though soon which might introduce more variety and fun to the class; along with dueling where I hear Wizards actually aren't doing that bad (didn't try myself).

I thought only 1 socket was allowed on weapons from any given group of magical properties. Since Manticore has a socket by default (before identifying magical properties) I assumed that that's how it got 2 sockets.

Anyway if the mace doesn't exist on Diablo Progress, I guess it's more probable that there's an unfixed way to link fake stuff rather than the item actually being there, by 'hack' or otherwise.

posted a message on Echoing Fury with TWO sockets (wtf)
Okay... I know it's far off, and not having a picture of it makes it even less believable but I'm telling the truth. I swear it. Even the people in trade chat freaked out. I tried to take a screenshot but it took a screenie of the TV instead (I'm connected via WiHD), and when I disconnected the signal to take the Diablo screenie it had to bug out of course. Anyone who is using WiHD prolly knows what I'm talking about.

...but seriously, just moments ago a random guy linked an Echoing Fury in chat. The thing had TWO sockets, 300+ strength, and 174% CHD. It didn't have high DPS though. Stats kinda seemed like two Echoing Furies got mashed into one. Anyone ever seen something like this?

Is it even a real item or have people found a way to link fake shit?

First of all, keeping Frost Nova up one just one target while maintaining a good level of survivability on gear as well means you would have to be really, really well geared. Secondly and as previously mentioned, even if you reach that level of gear, all the other classes still have their own ways of immediately escaping your stun chain, turning the fight around and possibly killing you.

If there ever is a viable melee/CM spec for PvP, it will definitely have some variation from the current norm. First off, Wicked Wind ain't gonna fly cause unlike AI, humans aren't going to just stand in it (and you can't make so many that avoiding them becomes difficult). We would have to find something else to proc CM, possibly one of the other Energy Twister runes. Secondly, Teleport will probably be a must (one of Wizard's greatest PvP assets, CD also lowers with CM). Dunno how the armor thing will work out. High-end CM Wizards currently use Storm Armor; I don't know if different armors will be viable in PvP or if Prismatic will just come back as main.

Black damage is when a weapon has just +dmg, and not +elemental dmg (fire, cold, etc). This damage benefits from %eledmg on gear, such as triumvirate. If you had a black dmg weapon + triumvirate, you will gain insane numbers in DPS.

Inna's pants with vit. You can get them really, really cheap with stats like ~90 dex, ~100 vit, 1% crit, 8% IAS, movement speed and 2 sockets (int, int of course). You will lose around ~100 vit, yes... but your DPS will get a huge boost (which helps life steal) and you will also have more movement speed which is really needed if you're farming Archon.

Edit: ...and ditch Tyreals Might for any yellow chest with int / vit / resists / sockets. If you have the extra goldz go for a Tal Rasha chest for even more DPS.
