"Well we can give you your money back on the other items, but as far as the video card, mobo, and psu we cannot give you a refund because it will be a loss to the company"

Wtf? They cant say that, you got warranty on parts. If they are DOA on arrival they have to refund them. Call again and say you want to talk to someone else.

Yes of course. Thinking back I do remember dropping a screw, but im 99% sure it fell to the bottom of the case. If it didn't could that have caused this?
When I took apart the pc I noticed it on the bottom, but didnt hear it drop down when I pulled it out. So I'm thinking it didnt connect behind the mobo.
Its a 620 but doesnt matter. The big one on the picture is the main 20+4, can only go into 1 place. The big slot.
The middle one is for the 8 slot where 4 of your squares were covered with a plastic piece, which you removed.

Yes sir that's all correct. 24pin into the 24 slot, the 8pins into the mobo cpu slot, and the 2 6-pins (from the gpu box) into the modular psu into the pci-e power slot.

The small 1pin connector shouldnt matter... you can run the pc without it (but you have no reset button if you do^^). The pic is way to shakey/blurry to see anything... but I dont think we could tell what happend from the scorthmarks. But I dont understand why they wont refund you all the parts... its rather obvious that the PSU fried your parts.
I know, they said to call the individual manufacturers and gave me there numbers wtf.

Also I just boxed everything up so I dont want to take the 2 hours to plug it back in, for pictures.
Newegg is taking everything back (even the cpu) except for the Mobo/PSU/Video card (I got lucky) Hopefully I can get my money back from the other people.
Could I just say that the Video card didnt start up and get my money back from EVGA? (not sure what to do) and as far as I know it works.
but in the above post I did those main power just as it said. 24pin into main power, and the 4-8pin (w/e it was) into the cpu power. The rest were modular cables for fans/hdd/dvd-rw (the evga card came with its own 6pin cables)
Could plugging in wrong headers do this? Also the burnt marks on the mobo where on the right side where the main power goes in down to the sata slots.
Really upset about all this I feel bad because my wife didn't want me to do it and I told her I built computers before (which I have) and that it would be fine. It was my anniversary present.

You know what, when I get home from work 00.00 Swedish time. I will take a picture on motherboard with all the cables and write a list to the side, You will then follow the list and say if you used the same cables to the same locations.

Modern PSUs dont have the switch for US/EU. I think they handle it internally. Did you connect the right power connectors to your MoBo? If you have a modern mobo you likely have (20+4)pins +4pins(+4pins) as power connectors. The (20+4)pins are the large main powerconnector for the Mobo you cant put them in a wrong way in the slot because they wont fit. Normaly that is the case for all the power connectors... If the 24pin connector is alright maybe you put the wrong 4pin in the 2nd MoBo power slot or you put the 4pin in the false slot... modern MoBos have 24+8 but most only use 24+4 if you put the 4pin connector into the wrong 4pin slots... I dunno maybe it could fry things? Or you put a wrong power connector into the GPU (they are usually 2x6pin)?
If that is not the case... the PSU was faulty and you should get your money back.
There is no EU/US switch on those. Did you buy a new chassie aswell? If so did you put the distances in first, before you screwed the motherboard there?
Aren't those normaly pre-installed? And I think you cant install the MoBo without the distance pins (it shouldn't fit).

Yeah, it was a 24 pin main power, (it had detachable 4 pin for 20pin but i left it on) Used the 4 pin for cpu power and 2 6pins for the GPU. followed all instructions correctly, double checked all wires, and used proper stand offs. The onlything I was unsure about was the reset switch header but didnt even push the reset button.
I hit the power button it lit up, then wife said she saw smoke so i unplugged it and saw the damage.
Also was small scortch marks on the connector to the pcie card.
Sounds ok. If you dont connect the 4pins from the 20+4pin I think nothing would happen because your motherboard simply doesnt get enough power. The Reset Switch Header shouldn't matter if you mean the small 1pin connector that is next to the HDD LED connectors and such.
What I dont unterstand is the scortch marks on the PCIe Card connector. Do you mean the PCIe Slot? Or the 2x6pin connectors? Not that it really matters... if you connected everything like you said than it isnt your fault. Sounds like a faulty PSU or a faulty MoBo.
