Jun 12, 2009replicant posted a message on Bashiok on "Barbarian Fury" and "Gore" in Diablo 3It's the rage mechanic from WoW and other games slightly revamped. Nothing special sounding about it and quite a rather bland update. Will be nice when they give us some nice concrete information and even D2 1.13 patch. Too much is being held back for their Blizzcon babies.Posted in: News

May 2, 2009replicant posted a message on About The PatchWe do not need more "Ubers". There are already far too many of these time wasters in the game. They are not content, but simply bandaid crap disguised as "New Content". If they want to add new storyline elements to some of the many unused dungeons within the game, then I am all for it. All of the Uber D, Uber Tristram, Lilith, etc junk should be removed from the game as it's just lazy development and actually a parasite on the gmes canon. The Secret Cow Level was the only joke we ever needed in D2.Posted in: News

May 2, 2009replicant posted a message on About The PatchPretty lame that the "could be out by the end of April" became the signature "Soon?" of Blizzard. No real D3 information, no D2 1.13 information, no E3, no GDC 2009, and no WWI 2009 Shanghai means this is just more string along crap. This Test Server BS is just another way to string the community along.Posted in: News
D3 needs to hurry up so we'll at least have something new to play as we get strung along for the next Decade. -
Apr 27, 2009replicant posted a message on No WWI 2009- But Not to Worry!Well, the loss of WWI 2009 really sucks for us as we'd probably have gotten to see a new build of D3 and finally get some more information. You also have to consider that Blizzard isn't taking part in E3 or TGS (They also only had a speaking part at GDC 2009) either so they are putting all of their eggs in the Blizzcon bag. So, besides the basic trickle of information we get we'll have to wait until August 21-22 for Blizzcon 2009 to see something. I personally find this pretty unacceptable, but I have no say-so in the company or development cycle so my opinion means diddly.Posted in: News
The only reason there is no WWI 2009 is because it was scheduled to be in Shanghai this year and Blizzard recently hss had a lot of problems with the Chinese Government and The9. That is why NetEase is the new Publisher of WoW and all Blizzard products in China now. -
Mar 5, 2009replicant posted a message on Bashiok on Runes.Just use the K.I.S.S. method and adopt the basic item enchants from WoW. The main difference being have the enchants gained from an NPC and the needed components as drops from various mobs created another economic facet to the game.Posted in: News

I would imagine that things will start clicking together in the relative future for us Diablo fans as more information is given to us at GDC, E3, WWI, and Blizzcon.

I always hoped they'd go back and go above 800x600 to overhaul D2 which is definitely showing it's age. The game however is still fun to play and gameplay beats graphics any day of the week. Since D2 in the genre has been nothing, but bad clone after bad clone (Prince of Qin and Divine Divinity being exceptions) until Titan's Quest picked up the torch and created a very beautiful game in the spirit of D2. It however did not possess a MP worth using like we get with Battle.net to help the community stay together and grow. Diablo 3 however takes the torch away from TQ and expands on their own genre once again with lush [rich] world environments, destructible implementations, claustophobic dungeons, and character detail the likes of which we haven't seen in the genre.
I for one think the game looks amazing in it's current state and the slightly brighter presentation [color palette] doesn't take anything away from the previous Diablo installments. It still looks strongly like the previous games enough to have me not complaining over it's presentation. Many of those throwing the all too common "WoW" card I think are those who just want an expansion of Diablo 2 and not an evolution of the series as we are getting with Diablo 3.

I think someone on here jokingly said if you press it 666 times it unlocks the D3 Demo.
I personally think if you press it enough times you win the ability to go buy a new mouse because you wore out your left click button.
