Wow every answer from Blizzard is completely clueless in my view. They do not understand their own game at all.

Seriously, some of the questions these people ask...
Oh hey there guy, I haven't paid any attention to Diablo's progress for the passed year now, care to fill me in on what's changed?
Go fucking read the news on it, sheesh...
Honestly, it's like your exams are nearing, and you decide to go up to the professor to ask him to start explaining everything to you from the beginning.
I haven't been following any of the news on D3. You got a problem with that? And you wanna know why? Cause as some have already said here, there is little to be said anymore. Any why follow the news that closely when it's just more of being jerked around and them scrapping this, revising that, adding some of this. Get real.
And it's nothing like going up to your professor at the last minute and asking him to explain everything to you from the beginning. I'm all for useless analogies but yours was just the worst.
Anyway...
No offline play. This really makes my urine cloudy, but I guess that's the reality of most games now. You just gotta be online to play them all. Even if I wanted to play single player all the way through, gotta do it online now...
As far as now ultra setting on the graphics, to be honest I think the graphics look pretty good. Maybe just a tad dated and still some things seem to glow a bit more than they should, but I think things look rather nice. I'm just more concerned at how well it plays. And I've had fun in the beta so far for the most part.
Everything else about this game...I can't tell if it's just that I've outgrown the Diablo franchise or if there's truly nothing remarkable about it for me anymore, or maybe it's just all these things. All the excessive marketing for this game has really turned me off. And all the Jay Wilson and Bashiok interviews have made me kind of hate these guys. I hated watching them defend themselves to the community for every little decision the team made on developing the game. I hated how they just couldn't believe in what they were doing and felt they had to engage with the public over every stage of development instead of just making their game and having more confidence. Then at the other extreme they had so much confidence that it simply became conceit. I think that conceit is what made the game take this long. They had too many unrealistic goals and realized even they couldn't deliver so many of their awesome promises in this game. They've nearly developed some sort of...John Romero complex. Come on Blizz! Make us your bitch!
Most of you probably won't even get that reference. -

And I LOVE it when people act like just cause it's a fantasy game that it doesn't mean basic physics should apply or that it should be grounded in reality in some way. Not that I'm even defending whatever people are saying about a meteor but you don't have to be all smug and say that just cause it's a fantasy game that gravity shouldn't apply.Quote from yadigg
I love it when people try to put real life physics into a fantasy game. You're an idiot, so the fuck what, who said meteors had to perform in a certain way?

And let's hope others are as sensible as you. Because sometimes other people who do have legitimate complaints immediately get branded as haters and that's annoying.Quote from VegasRage
Sure and your posts have legitimate points, I have a few complaints too. I'm talking about the noobs who are showing up and just ranting to rant. Criticism I have no issue with, people who go off and have absolutely nothing constructive to say are just annoying.
It's like when D3 was first announced in 2008 and a lot of people has issues with the art direction. Tons of people had really erratic baseless complaints while other people who made legitimate points of criticism were grouped together with those noobs of yours.
But I can just as easily dismiss noobs who show up just praising to praise. Their comments to me are just as boring and insignificant as the non-moderate haters. So they called out some haters. Good for them!
Many of us on this forum that have been playing and discussing Skyrim have been very vocal about all of Skyrim's flaws. I think you'll easily find people here that love Skyrim and D3 and are not afraid to point out flaws in either.Quote from greatmars

people talk about skyrim as if it is the perfect game and turn a blind eye for all its flaws but when they talk about D3 they keep nitpicking on the slightest flaws and BTW the open console in the pc version of skyrim is the only reason why i didn't stop playing skyrim until now with all its bugs specially quest bugs.

I'm actually wondering what constitutes being a hater around here these days. I have lots of criticisms about the development of Diablo 3 but that's cause I love the franchise. I mean, it is okay to have criticisms, right? You don't necessarily have to be a hater then, do you? -

That's what I've been getting at. Like Blizzard has crossed the line of being devoted to quality to just being inept.Quote from Robiwan
You know, trolling and bad feelings aside, I for one am no longer looking forward *as much* after a 5 hour beta experience.
Blizzard are really crap at either making games or hiring people. Because more than one person who has played beta with me has remarked that they cannot believe it took four years to make.
I defended by saying its just a beta... We'll see.
And no release date? I'm starting to view blizzard as that bully/jock at school.
I'm all for taking the time to make a game right, but then if you're so unsure of what you're doing and you have to go back and change things again, then lighten up on the goddamn marketing and PR and just be developers. Be just that for awhile. Show us your professionalism.
Instead it really just feels like...I know what it feels like! It feels like people in D2 trading games that would show you their anni or torch and start telling you they're willing to trade for it. So you tell them what runes you got or whatever, you start to want the item and you start to put your heart into the negotiations. You figure after all this deliberation that something is gonna come out of it. But instead the guy with the item you want is like, nah, I'll just keep it for myself, but it was nice of you to get to see it, right? Then he leaves the game.
So were you offering that pally torch or weren't you? Either fucking deal or don't. Quit fishing for praise from the public for your new artwork or your act 3 screenshots or your cinematics. Which by the way I completely do not understand why they would release that. The opening cinematic, at least for those of us into the stories of games, is that part you sit down for the first time to watch after the Blizzard logo. You get blown away by something you've seen in its entirety for the first time and then are you so ready, so mentally committed to the game at this point.
And don't just tell me I don't have to watch the cinematic (I haven't) because that's not the point here. The point is is Blizzard has become too confident and self-conscious at the same time. They are too confident because they abuse the goodwill of many fans. They are self-conscious because they constantly need praise for every incremental step of the game development instead of just letting us be satisfied with a finished product in its entirety. Their hubris has just totally changed them as developers. They dangle shit in front of the fans with this sleazy, yeah you know you want this sort of attitude.
Will the game be awesome when it comes out. Sure it will. But will it be so awesome that everything I just described above will seem totally justifiable in the end? Only if you're a tool who thinks Blizzard can do no wrong and that they've never shown contempt for their fans(face it guys, they do all the time).
Is anyone familiar with the story of Daikatana? Has anyone ever heard the marketing phrase, "John Romero's about to make you his bitch"? Well, Blizzard couldn't make a game as awful as Daikatana if they tried. But there are other factors that can make you not enjoy a game. One of those factors is the journey you took to get there. They announced D3 in June of 2008...2008. And they've jerked fans around for so long with vague answers about its release. Oh but it's okay because Blizzard has always stated that it's done when it's done. Fair enough. So then get it done and shut the hell up! Turn down your marketing machine for just a second and stop trying to distract people away from your ineptitude and lack of consensus and cohesion as developers by releasing all your little updates and your actual in game cinematics for god's sakes. Is nothing sacred? Is the excuse that there are still plenty of surprises enough to show the fucking opening cinematic of the game?
All this being jerked around by Blizzard is going to distract me a bit when I'm actually playing the game. Like Jay Wilson is going to be breathing down my neck and whispering in my ear, "It's good, right? Oh yes, it's so fucking good isn't it?" And I'm like, gyaaaah! Stop rubbing your greasy image all over this game, Jay Wilson! Stop making me your bitch! Ayyyyy! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I just played D3 recently for the first time in months and couldn't have been more bored. And doing that made me wanna check in to this place again but all the people I remember are mostly gone. No one really visits the off-topic or general discussions anymore either it seems.
Mostly it's all just threads about character builds, how much DPS or GF players can get. Yeah this place, like the D3 game is a sad affair. You wanna see a kickass community for a game that's going to be something truly amazing, check out Star Citizen. Seriously.

I do think they had good intentions though. I think even that in their quest for perfection they got really bogged down in the details and then had to make up for lost time by making compromises and blanket solutions to what some would consider rather glaring problems.
What stands out for me particularly, has often been the lack of weapons animations for skills. Especially for the Monk. And whenever I'd complain about it people would say, "But you have no idea how hard it is to create 3D animations for all those weapons." And then I thought....well, the animations for basic attack are all already in place. Couldn't they just stack the skill's visual effect on top of the already animated effect of swinging the weapon? I'll take even that compared to me sheathing my weapon very quickly just to do a skill when I'm running around otherwise holding these weapons in my hand. And even if not all that, then can't I at least say, "But this is Blizzard. They wanted us to believe in these things they could do." And they did plenty to pump life in their hype machine ever since the announcement from legitimate updates to arbitrary tidbits of information and constant messages regarding revisions to the game. All just to keep the updates coming and keeping people excited about the game.

I mean, all around the mobo besides that ATX cable, it's actually rather clutter free. All the extra power cables are hanging out in the bottom of the case, but still, my mid-tower case doesn't seem ideal for OCing. I really want to invest in a new fully modular PSU with maybe even a new, bigger case.
