as Blizzard gave us gender choice now, Barbie males would attack not with Love Spree but with - as Jay WIlson said about some of the early mana orb revision - Balls of Fury.
After all, "there is nothing better than playing with your friends" and using Love Spree and Balls of Fury attacks altogether for cooperative benefits.

I think if people don't play a difficult game because the experience is not fun enough by itself. Balancing it well and creating satisfying rewards for battle itself would do it. D2 seems to be created as a pure grinding game from the start, so there's no real satisfaction in killing, unless you're about to nuke some uberboss. Those are the consequences of the initial gamedesign. -

Regarding New Tristram music from D3 - I think it's amazing, I love it. But I really hate world of sanctuary track -too epic and orchestral. Orchestra sounds out of place when it comes to Diablo atmosphere.
And if I'd be voting for the best Diablo 1/2/3 track ever - I'd pick Catacombs from D1.

What they did is doable in 1-2 days, by one person. It's not much work.
Besides, there's nothing stimulating people to play it again.
Skill rebalance, a few minor fixes.
The iggest part of it, I guess, is the respec. OTOH, I was able to do it thanks to PlugY, long ago without this patch.

shooter AI was modified to produce longer pauses in SP, it also differs for both intelligence factor of monters and difficulty mode. there are many ways to cope with the retreating monsters. but not just plain old dumb chasing. soul burners in original game were infuriating - I agree, I did my best to solve that.

in general, whatever you want to change in this game, you'll have to solve problems like this. and with time, they will become much more sophisticated.
beat it, unless you're willing to sacrifice several years on studying D1 modders' legacy, study ASM and try and fail a lot.

Don't know if that modmaker recognizes D1.08 exe correctly
But you can search the exe for 5000 in hexadecimal, look for it in data segment, or rdata. Should be somewhere there.

Unfortunately, the best I was able to find was .mp3 192kBit/s quality =(
I'm working with several composers, creating similar music, and it will be in excellent quality (lossless even).
