Oct 13, 2008Bisso posted a message on Character Stat AssigningI am a bit confused about this. Not about Blizzard decision, but about the community's general opinion over the net, especialy on bnet forums.Posted in: News
The main opinion I keep seeing every 2 posts is : This stats auto-assignment is dumb because it destroys the customization. At the first thought, I agreed, but after remembering my Diablo 2 experience. I changed my mind and told me this : What customization!?
Try to remember your first Character you've made in Diablo 2. Back when you didn't know the game mechanics, what items was gonna help your hero to kick some asses, what spells were going to be useful at level 90 and which one would be totaly useless. I can bet that EVERYONE here had is first character badly built than after like 30 levels, realised that you should have done your character a certain way. After a few tries, you finaly realised that there was a perfect way to build a character.
Put a minimum of strength and dext since items bonuses would compensate, max out Vitality and leave Energy untouched. This brings us back to the question: What customization?! Is maxing Vitality really a customization?! I mean, after 5 months, EVERYONE realised it, and All characters will have the same Stats. So What's the big deal about it? Did you really think you were the only one who had this overpowered build? Everyone who played this game long enough realised how it really worked. In D3, if they put the same stats mechanic, It will take only few months for the entire planet to know 1 perfect build.
So, if 2 millions of people, including you and me, put the same number of points in each stats because we allllll know that this is the best build, is this still customization? I think it's not. So instead of puting customizable stats live for 5 months, just trhow this shit away and find another way to customize a character. Make every spells worth the be maxed out, make every item stats useful in some way. Make every class good in pvp and pve. Thats what Blizzard is trying to do. -
Sep 27, 2008Bisso posted a message on No Spellbooks in Diablo 3That's, in my opinion, a great news. I loved the concept of searching for new spells. But making a Barb able to throw a Nova is just not right.Posted in: News
And this goes with the Runewords too, The Enigma and Cie thing. I think it is just wrong, of course Blizzard was trying to put some PVP stuff in the game without having to reprogram the skills mechanics but I would love to see them NOT coming back in Diablo 3.
What I would like to see though is Secondary Skills or Talents, learnable by a book or a item that people could get trhough the game but that are not specific to a certain class.
Like i don't know : -Identification, -Pathfinding (run faster for a short time), -Repair, -Ammo Making
Cute stuff like that which ny class could benifit in some way. -
Sep 20, 2008Bisso posted a message on Diablo 3 Item Grace Period & Alt KeyEnglish isnt my first language so I am not really ure of what I just read. But I thought it was.Posted in: News
Thst you press Alt or not, Items that drops will have their names shown for 5 seconds then fade. After, if you still want to press Alt you can, but they have built a system that could give the chance for players to see items that drops without hold Alt all the time.
for ex: If you won't grab anything that is not Rare or Unique, then it's pretty useless to hold Alt down since every time an item drops, you see its name (in color). So until you see something in yellow or in gold, you don't have to pay much attention to the loots and the Alt keys.
If this is it, I think it is great, but I am wondering how it's gonna work if you just AOE the room with a sorc (ex) then all monsters die in same time, droping ALOT of items, then your screen is full of names. I remember avec some problem fighting monsters with Alt key down in D2. So much items on the floor you couldn't even select a monster... Just hope this wont be a problem -
Sep 13, 2008Bisso posted a message on Diablo 3 Won't Have Locked ChestsWhen they said they weren't just making D2 in 3D, they were actualy right. But I must say that Locked chest weren't that of a importance, in D2, you just run back 10 seconds and you find a key that dropped go back to the chest and realised you did this for cracked boots, a stamina potion and 3 golds. It didn't worth it that much.Posted in: News

Aug 6, 2008Bisso posted a message on Diablo III Development UpdatePosted in: NewsQuote from name="Elfen Lied" »Not sure about MMO team play style bosses, heard something about comparisons to Legend of Zelda though, also need to factor in Single Player. And a lone Barbarian Single Player at that.
What I love about MMO style boss is that is not just like an harder mob. Like in D2. Except for Duriel, all the end-act boss are a bit just like a damn Hero with immune to something, lightning enchanted, stone skin and extra strong, you know, those hero you like die 6 times before been able to kill it... I hope Blizzard will find a way to put end Bosses a bit more interesting. Phases are cool, Environment triggering could be great too. Cause Basicly, I thought that Diablo in D2 is a bit 2 easy to be the lord of Terror. (I might say to SIMPLE rather than to EASY). -
Aug 5, 2008Bisso posted a message on MTV - Necromancer May Return, Diablo 3 Expansion Confirmed?Good news indeed, I liked the Necro, wasn't my favorite class but the fact that you could just summon stuff and watch the show from way behind was a great game mechanic. Saying that I would like every class to be back in D3 wouldn't fit. I would prefer to discover a whole new and unique class than just playing the same old class with same skills. If the necro is back, I bet there will be no Bone Walls. Simply because it's much more fun for a game developper to create than imitate. And I think everyone, when they will open their D3 box will enjoy the new classes. 10 years without any change made with the class in Diablo just make the changes harder to take. But when everyone will be used to it, they will love how stuff changed, how new stuff came out and old stuff been replaced. My-2-cents.Posted in: News
BTW zombie wall is funny has hell. I will give it a shot for sure -

That's correct. Blizzard just can't be happy with how Diablo 3 turned out. They had Blizzard fans in the palm of their hands. They didn't have to make a good game to ensure a record sale. But delivering a bad game would make fans more aware next time. This is actually a very bad situation to be in. I preordered Diablo 3 collector's edition, my first collector's edition EVER. I bought every Blizzard game on day1 before preorder was a marketing stunt. Now I know I will never preorder a single game, and will wait to see how the game feels before buying it. I will not give my money so blindly next time. Not anymore.
Everyone I talked of Diablo 3 with share the same feeling about Blizzard, like they lost their touch, simply because Diablo 3 wasn't as good as it could have been. They thought they could do anything about this game, changing every aspect of it every 2 months in front of the fanbase. Add a transaction system, remove gameplay mechanics that were well thought in earlier itterations before removing them so it could fit their new RMAH system. They played with fire and they got burned. I wouldn't want to be in the shoes right now, must be a hard time when you know you aren't the flawless, most perfect, game company in the world anymore.

Oh well, I don't think I will play Diablo 3 more than I did before, but I am still glad Blizzard woke up and understood Jay just couldn't bring a game with so much espectation up to them.

2. Better story (actualy same one, but told with some good writing, I actualy can't believe they thought people would be suprised that Leah was Diablo's daughter and the bridge from him to come back, OH COMON, a 2 years old, retarded monkey would facepalm at Adria's journal in Act1, HELL WITH YOU JOURNAL, YOU JUST SPOILED THE WHOLE STORY! And it kept going worse from there)
3. Redesign the demonhunter, it sooooo not interesting.

The problem is not the nerf, is that it was the only "viable" endgame nuke spell because it would scale so well with Attackspeed. Now, I just don't understand that they still nerf NT when they already nerf the attackspeed bonus by 50%, this alone should be enough to bring NT back to where it "belongs" (in Blizzard mind).
I really hope Blizzard come up with better ideas for the Demon Hunter, it's just not a good design if the only good build is a glass canon build. We need more survivability options. Right now, No DH can really go in Inferno without Smoke Screen, which basicly is the same problem as NT was. And again, I don't think nerfing Smoke Screen even further down will fix the problem. We need life leeching passives, absorbs, etc. Because, it's just not interesting, it wasn't interesting pre-nerf, now it will be stupid and uninteresting.

So you, it has been a terrible experience for me so far. Hope I will get lucky somehow and grab a good item to sell for a few hundreds or even a million so I can progress.
It was the same thing for me in Diablo 2, farming daily with MF sorc hell pindle/meph/baal, the best item I ever got (once) was a shako which I kept for the MF.

Right now, Im not saying it's best, but it sure feels like I can defend my self.
I use :
Entangling Shot with Chain
Chakram with twins
Smoke screen
vault
with the +12% damage on slowed target
can't remember last passive.
with this I was able to keep people at bay and still be able to deal ALOT of dps with Chakram.

There are several reasons for this.
First: The DH isn't a tanking class. Most of it's defensive abilities are "oh shit run away" things. Still, Smoke Screen is actualy very good, vault too when used well.
Second: Unlike the wizard, DH main stats is Dexterity, Dext second bonus is dodge, while wizard's intellect second bonus is resistance. Remember that resistance is composed of both magical AND physical aspect of damage taken. So in other words, having more intellect actualy decrease damage taken.
So you probably right now end up having alot more dodge than other class like wizards (as it's your main stats), but you also miss the armor from strength and resistance (physical and magical) from Intellect.
Making you squishy when you don't dodge. So yes, having some intellect and strength is not a bad thing to consider. Obviously Dexterity remains your primary stats.

It is indeed a good item of its own, but nothing compared to the slingshot, and way less interesting simply because of it being a blue item, not a rare one, so less attributes possibility.

Before playing the game, I would have payed someone a good $50-100 to get my hands on it. But now, I wouldn't pay a penny for it. That being said, the beta is a very nice hint of how cool the game will be. But sadly, you just can't have a taste of it with the beta. All the interesting spells, items, legendaries, runes, hardmodes, bosses are not there.
The only thing that makes people still "test" (play) the game right now, is the lvl13 Slingshot Rare Hand Crossbow, that is without a doubt the best item in game. The good part, is that a rare craftable item can indeed make a very deep and interesting gameplay for the AH and endgame. The bad part, is that only the hand crossbow (DH only) is giving players a "real endgame" feel to the beta. I would have loved to see something like this for every other class.
