It's definately the Butcher. Mind you I was about 9 years old back in 96-97. I bought the game after seeing an add in the Wc2 jewel case, thinking it was an RTS with undead and stuff! Scared the crap out of me that I had to wander all alone deeper and deeper into hell.
Well, as they have most the mechanics done, the artistic guidelines done, and I'm guessing their tools are ready for fulltime use, I'd say they are at least 50% done with the game. Have a base to build content on is pretty much the thing that takes the most time to do. And I'm guessing most of the content is on paper, so it's just a matter of putting it into the game. That is time-consuming though and I'm guessing that stands for at least 40% of the game. Then there's polish, and Blizzard's known for taking their time here.
If you look timewise I'd say they are about 1/3 done. If you look at it as a product I'd say it's about 50%.
will there be a Hardcore mode? whats max level ? and are levels harder to get?
They haven't decided on HC yet, and will do that later up till the release. They don't see why not to implement HC again though. This is a fundementals panel, so I don't think they'll talk about max levels and such as that's based on the amount of content in the game, which isn't finished. He did say they wanted to keep the difficulties and that they liked the learning curve of Diablo 2, and wanted to improve on that.
What will they do to the first click first pick loot system of Diablo 2, will they implement rolling systems like WoW, or maybe a personal loot system where every player in the party gets his own loot?
The Asian looking guy in the panel (can't remember his name right now) said that loot will drop individually, meaning the same stuff drops for everyone, and you can basically pick up everything as everyone has their individual drops (though it's the same for everyone). This way everyone in a group benefits from the rewards.
Are they planning to end WoW with Diablo 3. If not, how they see the fact that they will make competition with themselves ?
D3 is not an mmo, and will coexist with WoW just fine. Basically the answer was that they wanted to make the game for Diablo fans, but also make it broad enough for others to get into as well.
The cinematics in Diablo 2 were amazing. Will the game be parted into Acts like in Diablo 2? Will we see cinematics between them driving the storyline or will most of the story play out within the game?
It's art - It's fiction... And stop reposting the same stuff several times within the same hour. There's no need. If it ain't replied to it probably wasn't a comment worth commenting. Although now I've done that so bah!

Havok is a physics engine, not a graphics engine.
