This is a survival witch doctor build I have been looking at. The plan is to do sustained damage and just be unkillable with all the healing the pets and skills give you.

posted a message on Thoughts on Stats system in D3 vs D2
I think there is one thing you guys are forgetting. In D2 the stat system sucked. You literally pumped vitality for most builds. Yes, you could choose to do something different but you know what I mean. What D2 on the other hand didnt have was a lot of attribute points in the gear. You found SOME gear with attributes, and you had some gems which gave SOME bonus.

However, in Diablo 3, the amount of gems which can be upgraded gives HUUUGE boosts to attributes. If you want a Vitality Witch doctor, just pump that 300 Vit which are available through sockets with gems. The difference now is that you can do what you want through items, which is the core of all Diablo games, instead of an attribute system. I could ofcourse have misunderstood something, but seeing the +attributes from gems makes me think you will be able to customize this to an larger extent than diablo 2 gave through stat point allocation.

What stat gives you + to crit damage? Where do you guys get amounts like 500% increased crit damage from?

posted a message on 'Jailbreaking' D3
Starcraft 2 has offline mode if I'm not mistaken, which means that the "jailbreak" of that is a lot more easily, as all the game functions are stored on your computer.

posted a message on inferno mode, end-game or filler? (att. Sixen)
Another thing to keep in mind is the achievments, which has been said will provide visual rewards. Some of these achievments will probably be VERY hard and needs a lot of hours in order to complete. Personally the implementation of inferno mode and the achievments will keep me busy for a long long time. I'm not worried.

And I personally still think finishing diablo 2 in hell without boosting and twinking is REALLY hard. Why would they make Diablo 3 ezmode compared to this? I am sure diablo 3 will be hard enough. If you think you can just steamroll from normal -> inferno and then be finished with the game you are extremely optimistic.

I think a lot of cool and not to mention HARD achievements will for me fulfill this role perfectly. I am sure you will need to use a lot of time in order to do the really cool achievments and get the banner icons that are awesome!

posted a message on Runes - Got To Love It!
I REALLY REALLY hope they don't allow of selling high level runes like rank 7 runes with affixes.

If a person can go to the cash AH and buy a perfect rune for a skill I will be sick to my stomach.

    Quote from LinkX

    Quote from newt_mcmac
D2 was a massive departure from D1, and it still has lots of detractors who say it never captured the "feel" of D1. If a person were to go back and create a list of differences between the two games as the OP has done with D2->D3, I think the lists would be equally long.

Now the two things cited here as tying D1 and D2 together, story and items, are PERFECT examples of things that will tie D2 and D3 together in exactly the same way.

What does Diablo 3 share with Diablo 2 then that makes them similar? Trading? Not really. Game play? I don't see it. Skills? Not at all. Only thing I can see that make them similar is the lore and the fact that it's top-down perspective.

Diablo 2 and Torchlight have more in common in my opinion. (Then again, they were made by the same people. ;) )
I'm so tempted to use a lot of time arguing with you, but it's pointless. Mark these words; You will love diablo 3 when it's released, youre just to blind to not see how they have changed something that is artificial and "cheap" into something useful.

Rexbo: You seem to be under the false impression that everything else is working like D2.

    IT AINT!

In D3 you have resources (That are actually thought out), you say arcane orb is useless. I bet my ass on it that you will need one of the first tier skills lategame in order to not run out of resources very fast. Ofcourse you can probably focus builds on resource regen and use a higher amount of high tier spells, but that will make you lose viability in other areas.

I can't believe you are so narrow minded and blindly compare D2 to D3 like this. When this game is released you will play the game and love it. So just shut up now with your ignorance.

RMAH is kind of .... I'm not really sure. I really hope they manage to actually make loot epic and unique even though you can buy things on RMAH.

I think blizzard will pull this off nicely.

What I was really disappointed in is the DENIAL of ingame PvP stuff. I feel so uncertain about this. I guess we must create unofficial leagues for this.

Kind of luls that Blizzard uses an INSANE amount of resources for managing to have real money auction house, (Cleaning dirty money anyone?) but denies something as simple as a PvP ladder or matchmaking?

Well, I guess some good unofficial leagues will be started up.
