Very interesting indeed.
Thinking about the trophy case...
My UDIE2 mod editor has an item store in it and it has all manner of odd things that you can't put in game. Such as an ear, tail, fang, horn, elixir, etc. There are also some quest items in game like the golden bird, the organs, horadric scroll, etc.
Maybe that was supposed to be a vault to keep the items after you've completed quests. As for the items that never made it in game, maybe they were things that were cut due to "time constraints."
Regardless it still doesn't explain the chat gem. -,-

I think it would be great if they had a My Little Pony Secret Level but I don't want a t-shirt like that. It is funny but nothing I would spend money to have. -
Oct 11, 2008viciousnugget posted a message on Character Stat AssigningDamn I don't even know what to say about this. This blows my mind and not in a good way. I always liked the fact that I could use charms and gear bonuses to give me the strength needed to wear my gear so I could pump my vita up. I always thought it was great to mow down hordes of monsters while some kid in the back is hollering "Where is your gear? Are you naked?" It was always a challenge to squeeze every last bit of strength from charms and such to make my toon fully strength glitched. I sacrificed precious inventory space to make my builds happen. I guess on the bright side now I can just load up on mf charms(if they even exist in d3) and mow through the hordes while Blizzard tells me what items I should wear. Pitiful what this game is becoming. Next up...auto skill distribution. This is a bad bad thing. I am having trouble seeing the positives of this system.Posted in: News

Oct 10, 2008viciousnugget posted a message on New Class Announced: The WizardAww man this is killing me. I am at work and the firewall blocks all videos and links. I only saw the char selection screen. I already know what class I will be. Wizard. Hands down. I love being the caster class. My first chars were always the caster type. I haven't even had a chance to see what all this fuss is about but I am sure as shit I will be a female wizard as soon as I get this game installed. Now that they have satisfied me the hard part begins. Picking a name for my little chica. I can't wait to get home and watch the new gameplay vid and all the screenshots.Posted in: News

The longer I sit here reading the news and thinking about it, The less I look forward to playing it. I just feel like it will be so much different and not in a good way. I was so excited the day they announced it I couldn't get rid of my stiffy but now it seems the honeymoon is already over before there was a chance to acquaint myself. I can deal with the graphics, I can deal with the colorful environment, I can deal with new characters. I don't know maybe I just can't deal with all this negativity that follows Diablo 3. It's starting to turn me off. I can almost see myself just getting the game to beat it and check the story out then hopping back on D2. I may have to force myself to like it just to get through it.Posted in: News

Jul 8, 2008viciousnugget posted a message on Diablo III PK and PvPPosted in: NewsQuote from "HaF_613" »PK'ing and Dueling are essential parts of Diablo, Especially in HC where I played. It adds a certain fear and adrenaline rush to the game and keeps you on your toes... I don't think the Diablo I style PK'ing should be brought back, but definately keep the D2 style. I don't think the game would be fun for so long without the PK and "PKK's" out there. Its a whole other element and it was always one of the things that kept my heart beating fast. Don't take that away. It was fair enough to give people a chance in d2 and it should remain that way.
I agree playing on hardcore and being hostile definitely made my browneye pucker a little. I have been both pker and pked. You win some you lose some but it definitely added a certain element that is missing from alot of games. If people want to say it is a waste of time and detracts from the main point of game, I ask this. Isn't playing a game a big waste of time in itself? I feel it is. I have wasted many years on D2 already and one of the things I enjoy is being able to fight my friends as well as random people. The only kind of pker I am not fond of are the hacker ones that tppk. That crap is just cheap. However it is quite fun to have a hostile mf game. I hope they keep some form of pvp in the game even if it a certain area in town that you must be in to attack your opponent. -

What might the max character levels be?
What plans do they have for getting Beta keys out to people like me?
I'd really like one of those. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I'm a little curious though. Is there any way to convince a person they are not wanted in your game without the ability to pk? Sometimes it seems like this is the only proper recourse to someone's behavior.

If the crafting takes time, between 2-10 minutes like you say. That isn't something I will like to do. I liked the instantaneous results of the cube. And the recipes for it weren't all that hard to find if you cared to look. Would it have been better to have them located somewhere in game? Of course, but it didn't stop me from putting in the effort to figure out what this little wonderous cube could do. And it was a wonderous thing.
I'd like to say 1 thing about what you said about PvP. If I have to relog or make a private game or whatever after having partially cleared an area is that not also hindering my progress? I don't like to play solo all the time and I like to meet new players and you can't do that in passworded games. I can't agree with Blizzard's stance on PvP being removed even though I have been griefed from it. Usually hardcore mode and tppk was where I got mad about it or disagreed about how it was implemented.
Aion, Rift, WoW all failed me in 1 respect. You can't pk when someone deserves it. If I was being rude or an ass to someone I would expect to be pked. Also I disagree that pk was only fun for the pker. When I'd join duel games to mf in and someone would hunt me down. That was a cool feeling even if I died. At least the person put the effort in to find me instead of camping the town gate as was the standard.
All this is really irrelavant. I am undoubtedly buying the game and rolling a wizard at launch. First and foremost I am finishing out the Diablo storyline. I just hope this game makes me want to keep coming back and rerolling characters like I did on D2. right now I am kind of skeptical that it will but I remain hopeful.
Workin on your post count?

I must admit that there are a number of areas of concern to me. I'll preface this by saying that these are my views and opinions and mine alone. You may or may not agree with some of them. Get your own damn opinion! It is not my intention to foist upon you my point of view. I strongly urge you take a look at what D3 has to offer and form your own opinion.
After reading through what we know about D3 so far I've got to thinking what it was about D2 that keeps me playing year after year and some of those things have changed drastically in D3. While I realize that D3 is not D2 this is the same title and Blizzard will hope to copy the success of D2. I feel that too much deviation will ruin it's success in the long run.
I'll get these out of the way since they aren't a deal breaker for me and have been stated over and over again. The graphics. It's been said before... They're too bright and cartoony. I can live with it though. Achievements. I personally think they are lame and if I get no reward for obtaining an achievement, I can live without them. Moving on.
Open world PvP and battle arenas. I hate the idea that they've removed open world PvP. The biggest reason I ever pked people on D2 was because they were interferring or hindering my game progress by clearing areas me or my party were not to yet. If you acted like an asshat in my game, you were dealt with on the spot. Without the ability to pk a person they can remain in my game and do as they please, go ahead and wipe out areas of mobs, being rude, talking shit behind their keyboard, etc. Unless they implement a vote to kick option I see this as a very bad thing for me personally. I doubt I will spend much time in the battle arena as there is no reward and as it looks they are mainly focusing on team PvP. Now, depending on how this plays out will ultimately guide my decision whether I will play this game over and over again like D2. I NEED the ability to let someone know they've crossed a line with me. I'm not a dick but I offer respect and expect it in return. When that doesn't happen someone needs to die, like, RIGHT NOW! I just feel as though Blizzard didn't take into account people with my position or stop to think... What would make another player want to kill another player? They need to take into consideration pk wasn't always used to grief other players. Sometimes it was the solution to the griefing.
Loot drops being seen by individual party members. Call me crazy but I liked the scramble to grab loots in a multiplayer game. Sure I missed out on some awesome loots but so did 6 other people. You keep grinding and find it or build wealth to trade for it. If you happened to grab that loot you were fired up that you snagged it and had a nice item to trade or use. It just seems like a cry baby solution to the player drops. The biggest problem I find on D2 is players with Pickit. That shit is just unfair to all those that play legit. Fix that 1 thing about drops and I am 100% happy. Again this is something I can live with and is not a deal breaker for me.
Auto-stats are another point of contention with me. On D2 you were punished severely for not putting your stats into the right place or felt robbed when you found a 2nd item with better stats than the one you spent stats for. That's why they added tokens right? If you loused up you could redo it and not have to play another character up. On the other hand it's what allowed for various customization of builds or the difference between making an energy shield sorc or high/max block sorc. While they will have stats on items to allow customization I feel that this system is just too different and really I need to see how it plays out in game before I decide if I can live with it. I'm not pleased that my levels alone will determine what my stats are. Unless they changed it and you get a stat point each level to spend at your discretion. I didn't see that anywhere though. I see the talisman has a places for charms or something to that effect so I'll definitely be experimenting with that.
The crafting system seems a little foreign to Diablo 3, as far as how it's implemented. I loved the horadric cube and the various recipes for making things and upgrading things. I like the fact that there were no recipes to find to learn how to make something. You simply find the materials, put them in the cube, transmute*whump* and voila you either had a really cool item in your possession or you went back out into the world to find more materials. The biggest problem crafting had, in my opinion, was the need for mules to hold various items(runes, jewels, gems, gloves, amulets, armor or whatever you were crafting) In D3 it seems as though much is the same except the fact you need to find the recipes. You find items/materials and you give them to the artisan but then what? Will I have to wait for any length of time to see what my artisan has made? Will the items being crafted be random seals or set affixes? I suppose that will be dictated by the recipes. I don't like the idea of waiting to see what I have my artisan make. I want to know if I just got upgraded or if I need to go back to looking. The cube was magic! There was no wait time involved.
Pretty much everything else about the game seems to be an improvement to me. The semi-linear world with pockets of randomness sounds like it will work well. The crazy awesome amount of rune/skills possibilities. The various ways the monsters try to get to you and the need to intelligently battle them seems very interesting. I am really looking to get my hands on this game and I sincerely hope these things I've mentioned here are not as bad in game as they seem in my mind.
Ultimately what will determine if D3 is the "best game ever" as many hope it will be boils down to this. Will I replay it and replay it and replay for 10+ years? As I sit here looking at what we've got now, my answer is a tentative No. Much remains to be seen and certainly played by my own hands for me to take a solid stance but what I have seen thus far has me excited and concerned simultaneously. These are my opinions about what we know thus far and I ask that you please respect them and I will respect yours as well.

I don't care to break the account apart, the characters are all built very well and are geared very well. I am not giving the din gear away and I am not trading it off for forum gold. Most of the gear is personalized anyhow and no one ever wants that. If and when I decide to come back I will start from scratch again.
imbacraft use these characters well. I sincerely hope you do not sell off the gear as you will see some of it can not be found on non ladder not to mention I built the characters around the gear in most cases. I hate to see it go but I know they'll be better played. All I gotta say is you got hooked the fuck up!
email coming to you soon.

I was trying to give it to my friend but I think he thought I was bullshitting him, I partly was. I am serious about it this time and I can't get him to return my phone calls. I will instead post this thread and anyone that wants these characters only need to post here. I will be gone for the holiday and when I return I will get your info and send you the password in PM or to your email. Have a Merry Christmas and good luck to the first poster of this thread.

I agree they can all be absorbed. I find light the easiest to sorb. It does cripple a bit of your cast rate and damage output. Absorbing any element does that though. I prefer TGods belt over others simply because of the added strength. I do a bit less dmg and cast a tad slower but I have more life and it doesn't hamper my ability to kill people. It is the elite players that you have to worry about and let's face it, not everyone is elite. I know I certainly am not. 1 v 1 this isn't a problem as your survivability is much greater. Team duels adds a whole new level of strategy to the mix. I'm just splitting hairs here because I am certain you meant Rising Sun instead of Nokozan Relic.

My smiter is setup very well to duel good mannered. No tap, no sorb, no jumping. I got the charms to stack res many ways. I could use to rebuild him with a shako but he does fine as is with coa. Hope all goes well for you all on west in this tourney.

What the fuck is that supposed to mean? I thought me and my friends are average Joes.

Why not? If most of those people will pay for it and play it. They are in competition with themselves. If most of those people dislike D3 then they'll reactivate their WoW account and get back to rocking the fuck out. Blizzard wins regardless. I'll buy D3 because I have been playing Diablo for a long time and I am interested in how the story will unfold. I haven't played D2 in a year and I am anxiously awaiting D3.
Edit: Yes I think D3 will break sales records. I know many people that are grinding it out on other games and just waiting for it's release.

Methamphetamines is one way to compete with a computer program. Not highly suggested though.
I loved when the ladder first reset and there were no bots running yet. Just low level players in parties trying like hell to get to hell as fast as possible. Once the first bot started running the ladder became insignificant.
I'd prefer if there were different categories to see who had the highest score for various things. PvP wins, Highest level, Most value, Best reputation, Most achievements you could go on and on really. I think the xp/level ranks were lacking on D2.

My cats bring many things to me and lay them at the front door. Moles, lizards, squirrels, rabbits, frogs, rats, birds, *cough*hamsters*cough*. It's their way of showing me that they are part of the pride. Like my own little mini lions. I love my kitties.

Not a clue on the patch date. Truthfully I haven't played D2 in about 10 months. I'm sure I could pick it right back up again. Even if I did want to play I'd have to find my discs as I have a new PC and just never loaded D2 onto it. When I play hardcore I never sacrifice survivability for magic find. I was always used to playing in 1-2 person games in HC as there are people with hacks that tp, hostile and kill you before you even realize you were about to fight. Assassin is a good pick for a character. They are badass if played right. I got one to 68 and in hell before a 94 wind druid tppk'd my ass.
