I want to see the other Seven Sins incarnate (Thousand Pouner is 'Gluttony Incarnate'). I always enjoy such features.

I'd love to see a boss that makes use of the 'light circle', leaping in fast, dealing out 1, 2, 3 hits then slipping away again. Like a compact, humanoid exoskeletal demon thing. Black, of course.

I want to see angels! I think we will anyway... maybe in the expac if not the main game.

More enemy mage bosses! That do more than just stand there casting missile spells (I'm looking at you, Summoner, Lazarus). They should have unique abilities too (that may be usable through certain items :D)

And I like the horsemen idea. But I think it should be Pestilence: Conquest is too similar to War. And it would be more fun to fight them all at once, as has been suggested.

Pestilence is more commonly known, so sure.

The seven Sins incarnate is actually an awesome idea. What were they again? (I'm afraid I'm not much of a sinner). Gluttony, Lust, Pride, Envy........ and I'm lost (the others are probably some of my weaknesses). Anyone wanna help me remember?

90% of this thread is...well....:offtopic:. Why don't you two bickering ninnies get a marriage license and meet in vegas. BACK ON TO THE TOPIC OF THIS THREAD.

I think the horsemen could be a fun side quest...it may not be completely original. However, it is somethign a lot of people would notice and relate to. Which is indeed fun even if it seems gimmicky.

If I were to take on this sort of side quest task, using red/black/yellow/white deaths. Instead of knights, I think they could be represented with some pretty ferocious and unique demons. One could be massive and completely destroy its surrounds because of how out of control it is...almost as if it were overloading and not even aware of whats happening. Another could be extremely strategic and pick the player apart using its skillsets in a very efficient manner. One could even be pretty big at first, but break apart into three different parts, each with its own stats....ie: agility, defensive, offensive, magical, melee, etc. Just for fun one could be a complete dimwhit, get beta down and give up the locations of the others in the form of riddles...adding more to the side quest..having to solve a mystery of sorts just to finish.

Those are just ideas, nothing to take as if it will ever happen. Just trying to think outside of the box a tiny bit. But trying to give players something they might be able to relate with.

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou:thumbsup:. We needed this back on topic.

I agree that this would definitely be a Random sidequest chain. Having them be demons instead of horsemen is original.

Any other ideas for bosses? Comeon now. We've talked about my idea enough I think. Lets hear some fresh ones.

Yours wasn't a lame idea..the 4 horseman of the apocalypse sound pretty cool, and reminds me a lot of the Ancients we fought in D2. My only concern is that I think they should be trying to build their own mythology for the Diablo universe rather than simply juxtaposing various fragments from different sources.

Of course, they have been happy to do that so far...mixing Diablo from Christian culture with Mephisto, the demon-spawn from Faust, to Baal...an ambiguous term for a high demon in christian mythology related to many other religions as well...Duriel and Andarial I think are completely made up.

Anyway, they could just continue on that trend..picking various evil demons from other cultures, theres a huge list of them here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_demons

Just hope they dont touch the greco-roman mythology side of it...

I'd be worried about the Greco-Roman part, they did say that they use God of War as a model. Of course that might refer more to gameplay than bosses.

Good list you found. It would take a lot of time to look at it in depth. Would you say Djinn and Ifrits are appropriate? They may be outside Diablo's darkness, but they could tie in to Aronoch well enough, especially if they were Nephalem/Edeyrem.

    Been done. In WoW.

yeah, they had 4 horsemen in WoW, but did they have themes for them. After looking at it and looking it up, I don't think so.

Anyway, anyone else have ideas for bosses. Come on, let's not just talk about my lame ideas, lets hear your good ones.

I'm guessing you haven't played Hellfire (the expansion for Diablo 1), but they had a Monk class and it was about as close as you can get to the BG2 Monk.

Personally, I hated them both...because the majority of the fun of both games are in searching for items to wear, and if you wear less items...that means less items to search for, which means less fun. It also means that your character is necessarily going to be less unique because you can't use items as much to distinguish yourself.

Good point. When the game seems to be about amassing loot, having an ascetic who doesn't wear much or use much is kinda pointless. Therefore, I'd say give them light to medium armor (leather at best), make them proficient with staves, daggers, and bows (makes them the archer class, giving them a good spot in the initial game), and also give them some options for unarmed combat. I'd say give them a nice hand to hand combat skilltree, a nice marsmanship tree, and than a tree of chi-effects, that or psy effects. Something that would up the sfx. Perhaps even healing or regeneration from meditation.

Has a Thread been made on what kind of bosses we want to fight (I'm not just talking end game, but rather all the bosses)? I don't know if one has, but I don't see one up and I think it's important (if I'm wrong, some admin please delete this thread quickly and cleanly).

So what kind of bosses would be cool to fight?

I was thinking that for a random quest-chain, you could end up fighting the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4_Horsemen). That would include the horseman of War, Conquest, Famine, and Death. The Horseman of War could be just out for wanton carnage, the Horseman of Conquest could have sacked some city or town that you have to liberate from him, The Horseman of Famine would be out burning fields or bringing down swarms of locusts, and the Horseman of Death is well, Death. They could even be servants of Imperius and/or Malthael (the two angels who want humanity out of the way). In some versions of the legend, conquest is replaced by Pestilence, which could work too. Any other ideas?

Somehow or other, I imagine a monk, along with being a great hand to hand fighter with staves, daggers, feet, and fists, would actually make a pretty good archer. Am I just weird or something?

skill idea: Flare of Light: rays of pure light pour down a certain AoE, where all enemies are blinded and paralyzed. Good for either sneaking past a group or disabling them before you tear them apart.

    It's sounds like a Paladin v2.0 =/

And we allready know that the skill tree distribution will be wow style ( all trees will have all kinds of skill (passives, buffs, active attacks) but are focused in one gameplay Ex: We can find totems and active abilities in all shaman tree, but every tree is focused on a diferent task, healing, buff/ranged dps, buff/melee dps) not the diablo style ( every tree focus on a single kind of skill. Ex: Necros have summon/curse/nuke, barbs have buff/passive/attacks, pally have def buffs/ atk buffs / active abilities etc..).

So a guess a distribution of Attacks, Buffs, and Spells are out of question.

You guys, this isn't a paladin. No Heavy Armor, no Sheild, No Auras (all of which are essential parts of the pally). The name sounds paladin, but if you look past that, this is a very very different class. It's not a knight, it's an assasin. Oh, and if you read the post, he said that he designed the skills back for D2, not D3 and was hoping for changes.

That said, I do have my criticism. It sounds like you put a lot of thoughtand effort into these skill names, and while I hate to knock that, I'm not sure all of them would fit. For example: Hand of God. As far as we know, there is no monotheistic religion in all of sanctuary. Or say trinity: The only group of 3 who would be close to that title in sanctuary are the Triune, the 3 prime evils, and I wouldn't compare them to the Holy Trinity. Please understand, I am a Christian myself and like the names, but they wouldn't fit into this mythology.

Trag is a good guy. He wants to protect Sanctuary because it is his duty to do so. The balance must remain in tact.

I realize he's good, I'm not sure weather he's asian based or not though. However, what you've said concerning ballance might support that he is, as balance is a part of Asian Philosophy. Is there anyone who's read "Scales of the Serpent" or "The Veiled Prophet" who could tell me what Trag looks like, assuming there's a comprehendable description? Would you say he's closer to an Asian Dragon or a European?

    Trag'Oul is a dragon...
The Assassin has a Dragon Flight skill...
There is a Dragon Shield in Diablo II...

I think it's safe to say that Sanctuary has Dragons. That, or they have myths of Dragons, similar to our own world.

But no, elves are not in Sanctuary, and never will be - as stated at BlizzCon by one of the Diablo III dev team guys. I think it might have been Leonard Boyarsky who said it, not sure.

I would guess that if there are dragons (other than Trag'oul) they come in two kinds:

    A. Eastern Dragons, who are wise and nice to you and are good luck (quest giver probably).

    B. Evil Demonic Dragons, such as the way The Dragon is described in say, the Revelation of St. John (big bad boss).

I'm not sure if Trag falls under either of these categories, as his myth is somewhere between Greek comparing to Atlas or maybe Norse Nidhogg (and very loosely based on either of those at that).

Either way, I don't think there's room for a class based on Dragons.

Take some grammar courses please. I can't barely understand what you're saying.

    Can't barely isn't exactly good grammar :P.

Yes, yes, let's have the Dragon-Knight Class and then we'll get people saying we stole it from the Eragon books (I don't want to be anywhere near that arguement). Besides, no one rides anything in any Diablo game, let alone a Dragon.

That said, Italofoca's right, there does need to be some cool looking melee abillities. Something big, damaging, etc. etc. A Knight of some kind would work, but give him something cool.

Still, I agree with the whole WWI Blizzcon class announcement theory. Hopefully we find out a few things between now and then. Maybe something for Christmas, although lately I've been very, very, naughty.;)
