posted a message on Help with story: The Destructors (Graham Greene)
Can anyone enlighten me as to what the theme of this story is. And; though unnecessary, present it in an,"Often times...," format. The latter is wholly unnecessary, but my teacher is convinced that all themes should be portrayed in that format, before explaining in more depth.

I can't seem to get it with this story. I usually get a gist of what's going on, but not this time. Maybe I'm simply too detached from the story, given that my only motivation for understanding, hell reading it is a 200 mark project due in a weeks time.

I've searched the net, asked questions. I was hoping maybe the Diablo community had some insight that might be more helpful.

I understand vaguely that Trevor's motivations might be different from the rest of the gang when it comes to destroying the house... And apparently that's what I should work with when coming up with the theme.

    Please helps.

posted a message on Character naming conventions and Reservations for Diablo 3 (Diablo 2)
Unfortunately, I find it common to buy a game and not be able to have the name I want. This pretty much results in stupid shit like me looking around my PC desk, seeing something, and creating a name from there.

    I reserve Michael.

Jesus Christ, all I want to do at this moment is going to the topic creator's house and brand, "F***ing Retard' on his forehead.

My GOD! I've... I don't think I've ever read anything more stupid in my life. Holy... I'm having like a panic attack here. My brain... Can't... Deal... With...

I can't breathe. It's like every fiber of my being is resisting the inevitable trauma of continuing to read this thread. Every grammatically incorrect word or phrase, even his intangible ideas are drowning me in his sorrowful world of misconceptions and ludicrous accusations. There is no escape. Once you've read this thread, the paramount levels of stupidity will be etched into your minds eye for all your remaining days. Only absolution can save us now. The universe itself does not have enough power to tip the balance in favor, or at least help diminishing legions of logical thinkers.

Of all the the enemies I have overcome, of all the obstacles I have conquered, all pale in comparison to this one, enigmatic, harbinger of devolved thinking. He is poison in our minds, for the very instance I enter this hell zone of a thread, his words afflict my own. No post can hither be made unsullied. Elope with me, Goddesses of thought, for I am in desperate need of you. I have seen the horrors of un-thought. Though undefined by mortal tongues, I have seen it personified in a form so great it makes me tremble like a babe. It takes from me all my will of good reasoning, it consumes it, feeds off of it, and like a perverted plant transforms all of it into and unto itself. For this great evil, unthought is it and it is unthought. And for all my cunning, my would-be intellect I am outdone. It was no competition. At first they numbered in many, but few too great, but to their legions is joined the greatest. The culmination of all stupid things to come. He is the anti-logic. He alone will break the universe to pieces, and from it create a world of anarchy. He is restless, and so to must be the forces of good, if they are to overcome this impending doom.

Stupidity has invaded us. There is no safe room, no unturned blanket. It is here. In form unimaginable to man. Its very presence denies me the air to breathe, it electrocutes me, dissolving all logical and intelligent thinking. It is my enemy. It is relentless. It is Lidve.

I'd probably keel over and die. Perhaps to avoid the horrific mutilation, contemplate the various ways of self conclusion. Probably the ones to do with one simplified motion. High rise, or if there was a firearm lying around. I'm in Canada, so unless there was just a police brawl... There would not be.

Provided they're slower zombies, but still die fairly easily with non-headshots... I could probably live through that if I avoided swarming and found myself with good company. Definitely try and save my girlfriend and other hotties for future procreation. And yes, finding yourself an island is a key to survival. I live on the West Coast, and there are many uninhabited islands there.

If they are fast zombies, like in 28 Days/Weeks Later... I'd go with the first part.

Here's my opinion on what may happen. Consoles will get good enough and interactive enough ONE DAY that computer gamming maybe be put the wayside. Alot of professional game writers have been turning to consoles because of the unfortunate and highly political nature of PC gamming. I've seen lots of PC gamming publishers go over time, I.E. G.O.D. games, because of the pressure to put out the games SPECIFICALLY for PC. This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. ;)

Yeah, and then they'll be PC's. So really...

    They probably won't.

On the slimmest chance that they do; they MUST develop the PC version independently, and then port it. No console changes should afflict the PC version.

I for one like our moon... And I'm not just saying that to cover my ass when we find out there's a mischievous cosmic-deity living always on the darker side ready to rend our souls from our earthly bodies whenever it pleases...

I see no problem with the moon in D3. It's almost on the verge of nitpicking. Might a well complain that their sun looks like our sun. And if they have seasons they too closely resemble ours..

    Quote from "rhunex" »
Actually most of the powerful vizjerei mentioned in the books are typically older, and have little to no muscle mass to speak off. They rely on their magic to do even basic tasks(kind of like how Linux users will put Linux on to a microwave...it's not necessary...but they do it because they can)

I would rather see a crippling older gentleman or woman casting spells that utterly shatter bone than see some toned younger person...who would, in the Diablo universe, be much less skilled. From the books I would gather the most potent casters would be somewhere between 40-50 years of age, a person who has been around long enough to learn a lot of tricks(and make some up) but young enough not to go insane.

Frankly, I'd like to see the most minimal amount of old bony women in D3. Just my preference I guess.
