    It's really impressive how so many people have no idea of what Lore Consistency is. There are so many retarded sugestions on this thread that I pray that blizzard does not read it (dragons, elves, gnomes, goblins, etc..).

    The way I see it, the only possible alternative to remove runs/rushing is to make the probability of item drops the SAME FOR EVERY MONSTER.

    In other words, runs/rushing will probably stay in the game. Unless, of course, someone has a really great idea that nobody has thought of yet.

    There is really no other way. If you have a boss, and that boss drops better items, everyone wil want to kill that boss. The same for common enemies (pindleskin comes to mind). Only if EVERY MONSTER had the same drop rate the runs/rushes would stop. This way, people would just start adventuring, killing monsters as they come.

    Now, I don't know if this is a good idea, because finding rare and good items would become REALLY hard. Maybe, then, magic find would become much more important than it is in diablo 2.

    I totally agree with the idea of spells that mess with time, space, and physics. To tell the truth, the whole "elemental spells" thing is something that's getting on my nerves. Pretty much every single RPG, from the days of Final Fantasy on the NES, 'till today today, uses that same "cold, fire and electricity" damage system.

    What I'd really like to see is something like the magic system used on MAGE: The Awakening, by White Wolf. That'd be really cool. There are some absolutely crazy spells, like one that you use to "overlap" two people's location on space, making a mess of both of them.

    I agree 100% with the OP. All the mechanics behind "baal runs" or "pindle runs", bosses percentage of unique drops, and Magic Find, as a whole, pretty much turned the game into a repetitive chore.

    The way I see it's going to work like this: the game's gonna have very fast paced action, and the globes will keep people going withount having to return to town.

    The potions will probably have to be used in BOSS encounters, since there's no globe drop if you are fighting only one enemy :P.

    To make a comparison, if anyone here has ever played MEGA-MAN, the globes are the small energy items you find in the level, and the potions will be the "batteries" you use for the bosses :cool:.

    I really hope it's the date they put up on gamespot: 12/31/2008. My guess is that the contradictory info on the gamespot webpages is due to lack of updates on that section of the diablo 3 page, and that the one on the opening page is correct.

    Also, that penguin stuff AND Diablo appearing under ice on the teaser makes sense with a winter release.

    All right folks, here's some of the info that can be compiled based on what Blizzard has given us as of yet (videos, etc):

    1) SKILLS:

    Barbarian:
    • Cleave (strong strike with red slashing animation);
    • Ground Stomp (stomp that cracks ground and stuns);
    • Whirlwind: Swirl in a cyclone, delivering attacks to everything in his path. Needs 1 Fury;
    • Battle Cry: Shouts out a warning, increasing defence of all party members (warcries are back !);
    • Furious Charge: Charges directly at an enemy, smashing everything in the way (blue dash attack). Needs 20 Fury;
    • Hammer of the Ancients: A massive attack that has increased chance to critically hit (shockwave-like attack). Needs 16 stamina;
    • Leap Attack (?): Barbarian leaps and attacks (blizzard seems to have taken out the bare "leap", which was useless).
    That totals 7 skills for now, which, in my oponion look totally awesome and make the barbarian way cooler than he was

    Witch Doctor:
    • Mongrel (lizard-like summons);
    • Mongrel explosion (self explicative);
    • Locust swarm (seeking insects of skeletonization);
    • Fire bomb (short range fire projectile);
    • Horrify: A spectral mask that horrifies all enemies in proximity, causing them to run in fear (Mass confusion- like). Needs 10 mana;
    • Wall of Zombies: Zombies erupt from the earth to attack your enemies;
    That's 6 skills for now, all awesome too.

    Note that some skills of the barbarian seem to need "Fury" and "Stamina" to be cast, like the Furious Charge and Hammer of the Ancients. Is that gonna replace mana ?

    If anyone find something else, feel free to add.

    *EDIT*: Forgot to add leap attack.

    Bah, I'm really sick of these thread requesting monthly fees. Are some guys retarded or what?

    Diablo 3 IS NOT an MMO, therefore there will not be additional content, like quests, etc. It's like, fidex content. At most, there will be patches and maybe innovations, like the sinergyes introduced with the 1.10 patch for Diablo 2.

    Additionaly, having a fee does not keep out children/retarded people away from the game, since like some posters have noted, these people HAVE PARENTS, WHICH ARE THE SAME PEOPLE THAT BUY THE GAMES.

    This is, unfortunately, a problem present on on-line multiplayer genre since the dawn of the internet and will very likely never be solved. The only solution is to select the people you play with.

    Addionaly, Battle.net is a service made available by Blizzard to support the online platform, which is one the (main) premisses of the game.

    Another thing I noticed guys, is that, in one of the gameplay/art movies of WWI, one of the blizzard employess says something like "the witch doctor is ONE of the NEW CLASSES we developed".

    So, we can be pretty sure that at least another class from d2 has hit the bucket, and most likely, more than just another one.

    I, personally, would like to see all new classes. I don't really understand why people get so attached to the old classes. It's a new game, the diablo universe is expanded, and there's a lot of room for new and crazy ideas.

    Plus, the blizz guys say in that same video that they created "very cool archetypes" for characters, and, after seeing the witch doctor (which I found pretty cool), I'm very confident the classes will be awesome.

    Ah you guys gotta be kidding that you prefer inventory tetris.

    Seriously, ife we count the time we spend just managing the inventory from all the time we played it's probably gonna be like, a few days, maybe weeks ??

    The best and most fun approach, overall, is 1 item per slot, without a doubt.

    And, in case people miss the artwork for the items, this can be simply solved by adding a right click thing that open the item details.

    I have to agree that this release date is pretty far fetched, but considering that gamespot is one the biggest gaming sites out there, I guess there is some chance they got some "inside" information or something.

    That and considering that in one their previews of the game they wrote what one of the blizz guys said, "that it would be around 1/1.5 years". It's not likely they would put up contradictory informarion (I can only hope... :P)
