they should have the option to click whether or not you want to die forever when dueling/ die but still get your items back with the same lvl char.
They do, it's called normal mode/hardcore mode.

to Aequitas: I have to desagree. I think it would be a nice marketing strategy. You are right about the time of release.. it has not yet come, but it's time to announce the project!! Blizzard always announced their project a way before release. why not give pc gamer exclusive rights to do it? they have given exclusive rights to magazines before! After the magazine had it's exclusivity they start up a page for Diablo III... instead of an announcement on E3 which is really big and Diablo III would not get all the attention, an exclusive discovery on Pcgamer would draw the attention world wide! While on E3 the eyes of the reporter would not only be focused on Diablo but on several other nice and exciting announcements!

have a nice day folks! :)
You bring up a few good points, but I'm still left with an "I don't know" taste in my mouth. It's a risky move, limiting your potential audience. Even if the game is not the center of attention at an event like E3, its overall coverage would be a good deal larger. The game has simply taken too long for a surprise unveiling to have any effect on consumers, other that grumbles of how it is "about time."

For the record, I voted "no." I believe the game is coming, I just don't think this is the time. It would be poor marketing to release it now, especially to give exclusive coverage to PC Gamer. Sure, it's a big magazine, but, like Cyks stated before, they will need a huge following in order to sell the game with such a huge time frame between installments.

still I think it's a problem either from the host servers or a programming issue.:)
More than possible. The site hasn't been up for very long, and there are a few other bugs in the site that still need to be taken care of. As soon as one of the moderators see this thread, I imagine the problem will be addressed.

    p.s. confrontation is gooood;)
Arguing is the best method of obtaining new information, but confrontation is chaotic and unproductive. The key is to know the difference between the two, and keep differences in opinion behind certain lines that shouldn't be crossed. Most people have these lines subconciously drawn in their minds, but, infortunately, the thought of losing an argument can bring out the worst in some.

    Ads happen.
I agree completely. Without ads, the only other way to finance the site would be to shell out the money out of their own pockets, and I don't think anyone wants that. This is, however, a site suggestion thread, so that's what people have chosen to do. Suggest things. It doesn't necessarily mean that these things must be changed, only that, if they were changed, the site would be more enjoyable.

Hardcore just wouldn't be hardcore without pking.
Indeed. The general fear of playing with a hardcore character just isn't there without the annoyance of having a level 90 sorceress teleporting around looking for everyone in act 2 while they grab the pieces of the staff.

lol only 5-10 people out of 300 (thats pretty sad) that means there will be less arguing eh:D.
Believe it or not, it actually increases the chances or confrontation.

P.S See if INeedDiablo is still a member, and PM him. He loves making new builds.

Its hard to say what game it will be until they actually announce it, it could be d3 or it could be ut2007 or it could be a number of other games.
I agree. While it is more likely that the "big surprise" will be one of these titles, it is equally likely that there is a game that we don't even know about. Perhaps it is this mystery beta announced by Blizzard in the Burning Crusade beta signup? It could even be just some big dissapointment that was blown out of proportion to sell more copies of the magazine. I would just wait a couple weeks and find out.

I still stand by leaving Diablo out of the third installment if the game turns out to be a sequel. The worldstone corrupts the, well, world, and Blizzard can build off that. The franchise is well established enough that they can do pretty much whatever they want with this last game.

    P.S. Besides go through time.

p.s. the trick is to allow the player you plan to pk to loot your corpse (even thou you may be 60+ levels higher, lol!), they may actually disregard your level (or just not look), and try to pk you first (for you loot).

I remember when that looting option didn't send a "player has selected not to let you loot their corpse" message after you deselected the icon. You could duel people without risk of losing your items, even in normal mode. Even now, idiots still deselect it, unaware that I receive a message now saying that they have done so.

But first, do you have any anti-spyware running in the background?

Mine will do stuff like that if I tell it to, but it will not display any messages.

Well it does display messages, but not in windows directly. To see the messages, i must maximaze the anti-spyware from the toolbar on the bottom right of the screen.
It may not even be an antivirus program. Make sure you check the settings of your actual browser as well to see if it is accepting cookies.

yeh you got it! If it's not Diablo III we (the forum) should raid pc gamer offices, burn em down and slap their asses!!! :D

    questions? ^^

btw. does anybody know WHEN the March Issue is out?

    :)
I disagree. If there will be any ass-slapping, it should come before the burning. Also, the March issue, if it follows the format for all other magazines, should come out in early February.

If they just want to kill things they can play online like Diablo 2 and just slaughter things, or they can skip the cut scenes and just kill things, Diablo 2 has a story line but people play that, just because you change to a new area doesn't mean you have to follow a story line, so why not give us that want a nice story line the chance to see one but like Diablo 2 its very much not required to actually play the game.

I mean honestly if all you care about is killing things would you care that when you change "acts" you are in a different time? so why not conform to every one instead of just 14 year olds that can play F.E.A.R. or Half-Life 2 if all they want to do is kill stuff.
Well said. Unfortunately, I don't think Blizzard would agree with you. As much as I would like to believe the opposite, companies are putting out games for one purpose: to make as much money as possible. They don't care how innovative a game is, so long as people buy it. That is the only reason you are going to see a third installment in the Diablo series. Blizzard already knows it will sell. If they change the format for the game too much, it turns into a risk.

I have just now decided that I don't care for the Back to the Future theory. It is a little too busy for me, and I think it will end up being the same way for the D3 consumer base. You have got to put yourself in the shoes of Blizzard's target market. Sure, the game will obviously be rated mature, but the majority of the people playing the game will still be 12-14 year old male teenagers, who have the attention spans of, well, 12-14 year old male teenagers. They aren't going to want to think about such a complicated storyline, just kill things. Too busy of a plotline, I think.
