I'm diggin it. I just hope I don't have to stand around and wait for it to resurface just so I can kill it.

    Agreed.

Just like with the maggots from Diablo 2... they had the ability to burrow themselves and resurface after a few seconds. It was stupid as it didn't help the creature itself at all, it just dragged time... and no matter how strong you are and what skills you have, you just can't get it killed until it comes out and you 1-hit-kill it...

I actually agree with all those points
Way Points I think i read somewhere will be in the game i don't remember where or if i just made that up haha, but yeah those are necessary and the socets are nice to throw some gems and jewels in not gonna make awesome equipment but can make bland equipment more fun.
I most highlly agree with bringing back BIG D and make him more badass than ever before because the 1st game he was a big baby, and 2nd game while he was cool as hell all he had on you was the crimson lightning

In my opinion, Diablo 1's big D was more scary than any other... Don't you remember the roar from the cinematic? Really creepy ^^ Though creepy doesn't mean badass-looking and Diablo 2 and 3 most certainly go for 'badass-looking'. If Diablo 1 goes for 'Horror' and Diablo 2 goes for '50% Horror'.... then Diablo 3 goes for no horror at all.

Anyway, yes you are right, they did mention they keep the Waypoint system. Also they add 'Check Points' between the WPs because the WP are going to be more far from eachother than before (from what I understood)

Well your graph is wrong. There is one more step.

Edit: Oh... now I see what you mean. it's impossible to know how exactly it works. Though a 2 step way is more logical, that's all.

but u didnt answer the question of how is supposedly so simple you could play with just the mouse? with the system you described, you HAVE to have a keyboard to press 2.

what you described was a cast spell upon pressing button. as soon as you press 2, your char leaps where ur mouse is. now how to you cast upon pressing when you dont have a keyboard?

well i guess in THAT sitation you could click the skill, the click where you want to leap. idk...shit im going to bed, my upstairs isnt working properly

    Ahhhh... I get it now

Your problem sir, like with many other people, is that you take everything too literally. In the trailer you can see clearly that he DOESN'T hover his mouse over the skill icons in order to active them, so obviously he doesn't use the mouse. They say that you can play with just the mouse because you can do it... but you won't be able to use the hotkey skills quickly. Did you really think diablo 3 is 100% mouse clicks? what...? you didn't expect to click "Esc" to bring the menu? You didn't expect to press "I" to bring the inventory?... what the hell are you talking about? In diablo 2 you used the numbers to drink gallons of potions and now you use it to active skills... that's all.

Good night by the way >.>

It's not that much of a pain in the ass... if there are skills you use regulary, you just put them in the 'main skills' bar (which include 3 skill slots if you count the 'tab' skill, 1 more than what we had in diablo 2). The Hotbar is for things like shouts, summoning, curses etc.

Trust them, if it wasn't easy and fun to use they wouldn't replace the potion bar with it.

shit so if you want to use say....leap and its hotkeyed at number 2, and you wanna use it twice in a row, you have to:

    1) press 2
    2) aim
    3) click
    4) press 2 again
    5) aim
    6) click

if im misunderstanding again, sorry. 3 am here now soo...

No, if you wanna use leap twice you, you have to:

    1) aim wherever you wanna leap
    2) press 2
    3) aim wherever you wanna leap next
    4) press 2

It says in the graph... aim and only after that press the number. If it would work the way you mentioned, it would just add 1 more unnecessary step.

It's not that difficult to understand... not that difficult to use... and not that important to know. Though we can't know everything unless we play the game and check... the overview that Blizzard gave is enough. Plus, I'm pretty sure they will do minor changes in time. Blizzard's main focus is on the gameplay... so I guess "In Blizzard we trust" pretty much sums everything up.

Soooo.... His voice acting session is over already? That pretty much means they got the game laid out to plan... That is, if it's correct.

You sound so naive ^^ of course everything is planned. They make it feel like they only started working on the plot while actually everything is done, even the dialogues. (I'm talking about the plot side... yes I assume they have some work with balancing/creating skills/weapons and stuff)

posted a message on Bashiok Says: No Mana/Health Leech
I knew it!! I even thought to make a thread about it a few days ago. I'm not surprised; there will be no mana/health leech because it ruins the whole health/mana concept for Diablo 3. In Diablo 2, mana/health leech were some of the main health/mana sources except potions. It's because of mana leech people didn't put even 1 point in energy (except the sorc). So yeah... no mana/health leech unless the effect is REALLY small.

Yeah, it's not like it's pink or something :P

Anyway, do you really think that Locsut Swarm deal 'deasese' damage because the narrator says 'deasese'? Don't catch the guy's tongue. Do you really think there is going to be desease dmage AND poison damage? That would be completely retarded... he just said 'deasese' once because it fits the Locust's description better than 'poison', that's all. Eitherway; deasese, poison... it's the same concept and it's green! Is that so hard to accept?

Edit: Please... if someone's trolling the best thing to do is not to reply him. Don't make this a flame war.

Did we see poison? I don't remmember seeing any poison enchanted weapons? I'm rechecking the video for it now.

Since the glow comming from corpses seems to be liquid, it would make more sense that they switched the color of poison from the standard green to purple. Both of these colors are actualy well fit to represent something poisounes, but I'm not saying your theory is wrong. I don't know. I guess i have it stuck somewhere that arcane magic should be represented by bright blue or white... but thats just me.

But then again - when you hit monsters with poisonous weapons i'd expect them to change color or something similar to show that they've been effected, wich they don't in the video, but on the other hand, most (if not all?) monsters that the witchdoctor hit died in one hit, so they didn't realy have the chance to change color or anything, meaning this can be arcane. It could actualy mean that they are dieing this fast becouse of the arcane enchant...

Theres also a third possibility - the weapon and the effects could be a results of a passive wichdoctor skill, an aura perhaps...

As you can see, you still left quite alot to be discussed. ^_^

Either way - nice find.

Actually there was poison damage, Locust Swarm. Also, if you look in the Developer Penel, they have on the screen all kinds of damage done via weapon on monster, you can see there that poison damage is green.

After watching Diablo III's gameplay trailer for about the million time, I once again noticed something new (now it came to me that many other might have realized this so don't kill me if it's not new to you >.<)

Anyway, we start with the male Witch Doctor in the video, who wields that kind of purple glowing sword we all saw. I been wondering why is the sword glowing purple until I noticed this:

After the Witch Doctor's bridge fight, he gives one of the goatmen a final blow with his sword... resulting in the goatman dying and leaving a purple glow on the ground. Then it came to me that the Barbarian's fire damage hammer had fire effect on it and left enemy corpses to burn. This means the purple glow is in fact a type of damage... nothing like we saw in the previous games.

Then I recalled something that has been said in Diablo 3 Developer Panel of WWI 2008:
...so we made different impact effects for each of the damages we have, at this point: fire, cold, lighting, poison and a new kind of damage, called 'Arcane''.
So I thought "Okay, in the trailer we had all of these..." but wooops, ARCANE? That would have to be the purple crap... So there you have it. I barely left anything to discuss :/

There is a pic of all the separate parts. I think that after making them, they are cast and replicated. the only thing to make by hand for each statue would be painting then. That's my theory, but I'm not 100% sure.

Hmm... yes it makes sense. If every purchased figure would be 100% hand made, it would cost alot more than 300$, but if every figure would be 100% made by machines, it would cost way below 300$... sorry I don't know much about action figures and sculptures, but hell, I wouldn't mind having one on my desk ^^
