Why must all these anti-pk people use strawman arguments? Can't you actually think of something at least resembling a valid argument? Oh wait ... you can't since you don't have any. What the real problem is is that you don't want to die and are to lazy to watch out for PKs so you'd rather Blizzard do it for you.

People like you are the perfect examples for the mediocre player that's too lazy to actually even try to do better and be the best.

. You are right in one aspect. I am a mediocre player, but not lazy. I play to enjoy what I feel is enjoyable to me. I never said anything to keep you from having PK'ing at all. I only said stuff to limit your targets. Being the equivilant of a cyber thug in the game, whether on the receiving OR GIVING end, is not my idea of fun. I've had my fill of ears already. Mostly TAKING in D1.

what fun is there in NOT being forced to engage in combat that you might not want to be. i guess its way more fun for you to go through the same old structed boss fight over and over with zero competition.

What do you mean "zero competition"? The loot drops were pretty random in MP in D1 and D2 so one never knew what they would get. As of the PK'ing issue again, the only competiton would be between the 2 players, or more, not who killed the boss first or what not. If you think about it the competiton would increase because you would be only dealing with EXPERIENCED PK'ers.......hmmm....."EXPERIENCED PK'ers"?... That's what it's about. YOU WANT EASY KILLS!!! Diablo forbid you from having easy PK'S. Diablo ALSO forbid random PK'ing rampages going from MP game to MP game. Especially if hackers start running amok again and Blizzard has to play catch-up all the time to hinder the hackers. So why not let us that don't want to have deal with random PK'ers have the option to enable or disable those features? Or least not want to have to deal with it YET. ;)

Acutally the DUTY of the player is to KILL DIABLO. Not each other. Last I checked that was the story line. ;) .

By having an anti-PK setting and enabling the PK feature, you are acutally INCREASING your risk of PK'ers coming into your game. Plus you would be able to more easily find people in the community that acutally enjoy the risk. Like I said before, if so many people enjoy PK'ing I don't think there will be a problem. Besides, I myself could make chars where one I could have just regular MP and one for PK'ing if I wanted. I don't want to be FORCED to do ANYTHING in the game and loosing hard earned loot. If I don't want the risk, I want to be able to choose. Is it that difficult. All games have to change to a certian extent in order to be viable to todays gammers. If an anti-pk feature IS viable then why not include it? If it is not, then Blizzard can decide that and not us.

The argument that we should be able to set games to PK or not is not viable. If that is implimented then everyone will set their games to non-pk and then the only games that will be PK-able would be duel games.. or games that will eventually be turned into duel games because PKers only have a choice of 1 or 2 out of thousands of games which they can join.
Why can't you people accept that you might get PKd once every 2 days.. its the damn game!

To counter question, why wouldn't you be able to accept that people might NOT want to be PK'ed once every 2 days and how do you think that EVERYBODY would set the anti-pk setting? ESPECIALLY if there are so many people really wanting to have the thrill of random PK'ing into the game? If so many people DO enjoy the aspects of PK'ing, then there would be alot more games than you say that would be open to such. Again I'm not trying to remove the aspect from the game. Only have things where if people do NOT want the risk they should not be forced to endure it and have bitter experiences in the game. Another option would be to set up PK'ing PvP servers for this, though a more expensive option for Blizzard.

I will say it again: I, myself, would not begrudge anybody from wanting to go PK'ing. It has always been a part of BOTH games. In D1, I had quite a collection of ears. ENTIRELY FROM DEFENDING MYSELF. In D2, however, it seemed like every other day there was a random PK'er coming into an open game just to kill me. I wasn't using the same char name so it made no difference. Hard to find a friendly group of people if everybody seems to be UNFRIENDLY. I stopped playing MP because of that. Which is why I would want an option for MP where you can enable/disable PK'ing in the MP game that is set up. If you guys want the risk of it, then you don't have to enable the anti-pk feature. That way you will never be bored. Every PK'er and their mothers will be coming to your game to pk you and whoever else is there. Those of us who prefer a non-hastling game of MP with friends can enjoy it without a problem.

Again, I don't want to take it way from the guys who WANT to PK. I just want a way to keep it out of MY Multi-Player, and anybody else that doesn't want the choice, if I don't want it. If PK'ing is so popular I'm sure you guys wouldn't have trouble finding MP games set up for it.

I believe the church was distroyed in D2 being that the whole of Tristram was destroyed by demons. IF I remember correctly. I'm in another state so I can't exactly reinstall the game to double check.

That is my thing. I myself won't begrudge anybody the right of PvP or PK, but if I were set up a game in multiplayer I wouldn't tolerate it. Unless, of course it's amongst friends. At LEAST I know I would get my stuff back. :)

posted a message on Potions and Health Orbs
I would still prefer the potion system. Regular health potions REGENERATED health while Rejuvination potions just restored amounts of health and mana. The orbs, IMHO, would make the game feel more arcade-like. If they MUST be there, then make them drop less often like a rare item.

Well, worst case senario they could put muskets in, but that does NOT mean I would want to see guns in Diablo 3. I shall repeat: D3 with guns = Hellgate: London

Easier just to push a button "back-up character" to a different directory. I'm just getting lazy in my old age and YEAH I have tons of backup chars out of the save folder on cd from years ago. :)

As of "The Heros" of the last game, remember that Tyrial sent them to a place of rest or away from the forces of evil. So it opens up many possibilities. The new classes and old with the female versions can fit with certian story lines.

posted a message on A character back-up system
One thing I do remember about the Diablo series is that we always needed a 3rd party program to back-up our characters for whatever reason. Is it possible to include one into game so we don't have to depend on one?

    Comments? :)

In a way I wish I was as young as when diablo2 came out, so that maybe just maybe I would not be noticing anything wrong with D3, or not think anything was wrong, or compare it to other games. Just go on with life until it was released. Back then I simply accepted and loved it all. I guess its true they say the older you are the harder it is to change. I wish i was young again, to have that fascination. It took so little to please me then, and now look at me. :(

With this sequel, I will either have to accept and suck it up, or just move on with life without videogames, (or games that pleasing to my old-ass self)

One thing I have noticed is, how with age one's perception of things changes. I'm only 25 but I don't have that same glint of excitement and fascination as I used to have. It takes so much more to stimulate me. It's like I'm a crack addict, i need something harder! This stuff is too weak :D

I'm 37 and played the D1 DEMO when it came out before the game did. Trust me you are just a youngin' compared to some of the fan base. Which is why (1.) I don't rage at Blizzard just because "things don't look right". I realize this is just entertainment and not worth getting my "depends" in a wad over it. :D Discuss it like mature adults and they may actually listen. Scream and cry, well, somebody needs to have their diapers changed i think. ;) I and I don't care how old ya are either. Whiners and complainers deserve a diaper change. Not a valid hearing.
