posted a message on Question: upgrading Standard License to a CE
    Hay Guys,

Sorry to ask such a seemingly basic question, but my google searches don't turn up evidence as concrete as I'd like:

I know that Blizzard Support will give you a standard license if you send them a ticket after overriding your digital standard license with a Collector's Edition license, but is the same true if you override a PHYSICAL COPY standard license with a Collector's Edition license?

All I need to know - hopefully with a Blue post to provide concrete confirmation. Thanks! :)

Agree with blucorp - you could use a dedicated single-target dmg spell. Poison Dart is fantastic in this regard. Plague of Bats, while strong, is still really mana-inefficient against only a single target.

Also, I reckon you should change Desperate Grasp to Unbreakable Grasp. For a long time, my builds would use Desperate Grasp, but once they put Unbreakable Grasp into the beta, I saw how huge a difference that additional +20% (80% total) slow makes. I think it's going to be much more useful than -2 secs on the CD.

When you meet those Fast Nightmarish monsters in the beta, they just move across the default Grasp of the Dead as if it wasn't there. And even with Unbreakable Grasp, they still cross it really fast....I've got a feeling it's going to be more useful :S.

Multiple enemies can be hexed at the same time? Really? I've only ever seen the shaman Hex another target after the duration of the previous one timed out. >_>

As for the Toad of Hugeness vs Hex comparison....it's really hard for me to say. On paper, Hex DOES sound better, but I'm sure that there's some good reasons to use Toad of Hugeness in certain circumstances. Well, besides as part of a themed build :P.

posted a message on Nash's Zoo build many many pets!!
Haha - I really like the idea of using 'snake to the face' as part of a creature-themed build. That's cute :P.

It looks like a build that'll be fine. You probably don't need other forms of CC too badly since you have both Dogs and Gargantuan (those pets are essentially CC spells). Toad of Hugeness is a bit like a CC spell, too.

You're good on mana because both Spider Queen and Toad of Hugeness are single-cast and cheap. Poison Dart is cheap on mana, you're only going to be summoning your dogs/garg once a minute each at most, and so Dire Bats is your only real mana-spender.

So yeah - looks fine to me.

posted a message on Witch Doctor with Bows/Crossbows (Spoilers)
It's just the +skill ones. I think that more WD-centric affixes appear on his unique items. Mana regen and increased max mana both only occur on Voodoo Masks, Mojos, and Ceremonial Knives.

It's probably to gate how much of a particular skill bonus the WD can get....given how Mojos and Knives require are both one-handed, whereas a crossbow is two-handed, so they can get away with putting a few more options on that :P. Still, the crossbow is a weird choice for a 2-hander. @_@

I'm not saying that we discount, discredit or ignore their opinions. I'm saying that their opinions are irrelevant until more data is gathered. They've offered a data point, that, 'At higher difficulties of the game, playing a witch doctor without pets is more difficult'. Until we have more data, more people playing, which will also give context to the Blizzard opinion, we are truly unable to make any real sense out of the viability of any build.
For instance, they've never actually linked or stated what builds they've used (to my knowledge) in their 'pet usage' Witch Doctor build (for obviously good reasons, if they state that they played with that build, then many people are going to flock to it without thinking, making it a cookie cutter build), to them, simply having corpse spiders is enough to constitute a 'pet build'. Often when people hear 'pet' tossed in with builds for the Witch Doctor they assume something that includes at least mongrels or the gargantuan along with a few other summons. That may totally not be the case.

My intent though is not towards any kind of bashing or advocating a certain way people should be playing. I'm simply aiming towards quite the opposite in fact, I'm simply trying to put forth the reasons why, since we haven't had full access to the game to properly gather data and context, shouldn't be throwing any themed builds out the window as barely playable but not 'viable' or anything in that train of thought.

I don't think I was talking about what you seem to think I was talking about. I'm not disagreeing with you. Like I said, I don't doubt that there'll be Inferno-viable petless builds. All I'm saying is that Blizzard employees have said that playing petless is more challenging - of course it's impossible to use what Blizzard has said to apply to how successful a specific petless build will be.

posted a message on Male vs Female
    Male.

The female is actually much hotter than Blizzard said she would be, but to me, the Male is just too iconic. I tend to like the look of the class with the gender they were revealed as.

I find that the male's armour looks nicer on his model, too.

    I'm afraid of this happening:

    I highly doubt that :P.

I'm pretty sure that Zombie Dogs are your 'mook' monsters - able to tie up more foes than the Gargantuan, but at the cost of being more vulnerable to AoE, whereas the Gargantuan is much better at tanking bosses and their fancy AoE attacks :P. Or at least, that's how it sounds in my head.

I have high hopes that petless builds will be viable, even if they are more challenging to play.

And as for the Blizzard employees, just because they may not be as good as us doesn't mean that we can COMPLETELY discount their opinions. The fact of the matter is that they have played Inferno difficulty and we have not. No matter how good/bad they are, their opinion on endgame build viability is the most authoritative until we can prove otherwise once we get our own hands on the game.

posted a message on Specific SPOILER request - Class Intro Videos
"Keeping an eye out" is kinda what I'm afraid of :P.

I don't want to get spoiled - I just want to see the intro videos for each class which I don't really consider a spoiler since they're going to be the first thing I see, anyway ^___^.

Hopefully someone from the big cinematic spoiler thread will notice this post and at least ease some of my anxiety by letting me know whether or not the class intros have even been datamined yet :P.

If you skip to 6:40 on the video below, you can see more snippets of the various class intros. I'm really really eager to see them. :D (note the gender-specific stuff like the female Monk intro and the male Wizard intro)

posted a message on Specific SPOILER request - Class Intro Videos
I appreciate the effort to inform, but the class trailers aren't the intros for each class. :kitty:

The class trailers used snippets of the class intros (the 2d 'storybook' parts at the beginning of each trailer), but they are just snippets of the actual intro that each class has.

Each class intro is also narrated by that class and looks different based on the gender.

Some time ago, someone recorded the audio for the male Demon Hunter's intro, which you can listen to here: https://files.me.com/theworldstonekeep/encc04.mp3

posted a message on Specific SPOILER request - Class Intro Videos
    Hay guys,

I'm only looking for these SPECIFIC spoilers, so please don't include or mention anything else. :kitty:

I would just like the intro videos for each class & gender. Just something I can get excited over without truly spoiling myself :P.

If someone could link me to the videos if they've been datamined already, I would be most grateful! Preferably, they would be actual video files instead of youtube links, but I'll take what I can get =p.

    Thanks!

intelligence will only give 1% damage increase up to 100 total int, after that every int gives you 0,25% damage.

this is the same for all other primary attributes for the other classes.

Whoa whoa whoa - this is news to me.

Can you provide a link or data which confirms this?
