I think death knights from d1 take the cake for coolest mob in BOTH games imo. My first encounter with one was a group and I got ganked :(. Good times indeed

As long as they implement something that takes the place of the old rune system I am all for this idea. Although, they would have to be very careful in this approach as they dont want the same type of trading economy they had in D2. Alot is riding on this...the making of diablo 3 is a slippery slope that goes down hill both ways. Gotta be nearly perfect to make the majority happy.

posted a message on Picking up Gold
Can you beleive at one point the main thing we worried about was the view of d3 (isometric) and the big sigh of releif when we found out it was. Now we have ppl going bananas because they dont have to pick up gold manually LOL. Not flaming I just couldnt shake the funny feeling i got from seeing this back and forth over autopick up for gold.

IMO keep it, make it an option to turn on or off, and keep on developing d3 :). Another issue that can be fixed with a toggle button giving players a choice hehe.

    @Ryu~
You cant really use farmers as an excuse to not have a system of any kind. No matter what game you play..if there is ANYTHING that can be obtained from mobs that is of value and people are after. You will have farmers...only way to fix that is to take away armors gold and anything of value. How lame would that be? :)

Now as for the gold aspect I dont mind it as long as i can still hustle gear and other items I need or want :). Gold will be fine for early on but when you get up there and get good gear you trade it for other gear or massive piles of gold. So It should be fine..you have something some1 else needs and they have something you need eventhough the value of one item may suck compared to another you will most likely have a trade on your hands. Thats just the way it works and has always worked :).

posted a message on No paladins, please.
A hammerdin in uber tristram would have some serious issues indeed. Its been a while but the hammerdins main life saver is redemption and i do beleive all the mobs in uber t. evaporate or something upon death. I've beaten uber tristram solo with 2 types of builds, my hybrid barba and my zeal/smite hybrid pally. I've seen a kick assassin do it too though.

The barbarian had some issues but the pally did whipe the floor with them. Not because he is "overpowered" but i made that character strictly for the ubers so he had the gear and the build specifically to tank and kill them. I just dont see a hammerdin being able to solo uber tristram without an absurd amount of full rejuves which any class with decent dmg skill and alot of health can do with those.

I think the OP is just venting at a few overpowered builds and they indeed were there. I have had a hammerdin before and its crazy when you can go into a full room baal run in hell and go to chaos sanctuary mowing mobs down without even coming close to dying...but thats more to do with gear and a few over powered skills than the class itself. Hammerdin was great for gathering keys for uber trist and for me pretty damn fun to play on (except maggot lair :D). I never used him in pvp though for obvious reasons.

I dont mind a paladin-like character coming back..its a matter of balancing the skills not trashing the entire class for some miscalculations. I suppose it doesnt matter as the pally isnt coming back in d3. Although it would be nice to have a class like it wearing a shield. Zeal IMO was one of the coolest skills for a melee char when maxed out with good gear hehe. I highly doubt that blizzard will make such a mistake in d3...too much is riding on it and they know what needs fixing from d2..we'll just have to wait and see :).

posted a message on Auto Stats and Vitality
Have to agree with the elixer idea NOT being implemented..its already been stated previously why. Only if its obtainable from ONE time reward quests ,at most once per difficulty like d2 does. As for the auto stat feature I can go along with because lets face it. Unless you read some kind of guide before even touching your first character in diablo you TRASHED it. We all did, and to say you never screwed over your first character or made alteast one major mistake is bogus and you know it :P.

Now I said i can "go along" with it because it does save the ubernooblets (which we all are at some point in any game) from making a character not worthy of the time it takes you to click the "delete" button and confirm it. However, it would be nice to be able to turn that feature off so that at some point we could kick off the training wheels.

Alot of people are also going along with this "majority of players end up with the same stats from cookie-cutter build guides "arguement as well. Simply put it that way and you have a misleading "statistic" i guess you could say. In diablo its very uncommon to see some one with just ONE class. Most players will make a really strong cookie-cutter build to get good gear etc for other characters they are making. I gaurantee you that most of this majority had some crazy wacked out build they were doing while not on their "main" for kicks.

It pretty much comes down to choice, which is what i think blizzard should give us on big controversial issues like this. At some point you will want to do some experimenting and think outside the box. It helps mix things up (increased replay value) and simply satisfies our human curiosity.

Most likely they will release something juicy before the new year. Probably not a new class but one can always hope... You never can tell with blizzard though.

There are final touches that have to be made to the game as well as the content. Not to mention blizzard is not known for putting out a game with "the quickness". They have quite the opposite reputation so the time spent atm means nothing to how long we'll have to wait sadly.

posted a message on What you LIKE About D3.
All in all pretty much every new technical aspect added to d3 is a plus for me...from the destructable environments to the random/scripted events and class quests. What really does it for me..and this may be naive of me but the STORY is going to be soooo much richer and interesting. If you read that tidbit by the guy speculating the story of d3...alot of his assumptions are based on pretty hard facts to dispute. If it is anything at all like what he is predicting its gonna be secksi!!!

Well yeah but you gotta remember it would be rather stupid to kill the same 3 baddies in EVERY new game. Its like you know what your mission is before the next game comes out. At some point you are gonna get bored with the storyline and beleive it or not diablo's (especially with the novels) storyline can literally make or break the game..regaurdless of gameplay. First impressions are a bitch :)
