sorry late and i didnt read the whole thread, got to page 4 and i skipped to the end, sooo if im repeating what some one else has already said, I am sorry.
Im guessing that they are doing this to skills so that we have more maxed skills, we have a skill bar at the bottom that fits 8 skills, (why would you use an inefective skill that only has 1 point in it).
in D2, you really only used 3-6 skills. depending on char/build.
in D3 it looks like they want every character to have a broader horizon, and use 8+ skills. which IMO is a real cool idea.
:offtopic:sorry if im not all that clear with what im saying, im tired. Gnight.
Many samurai served them selves. or am i way off ? i thought that some masterless samurai went around and dispensed justice however they saw fit *usually by the sword*.
and if they made it an npc that would be fine by me, maybe implament it in the expansion. or not. just a thought.
Well if you could kill any boss in 10secs flat i would worry about every one else running, more loot for you. GG
I would be more worried about how when you kill Mephisto, you can stand on one side of the trench and fire arrows, throw spears, whatever, and not even get touched. Those are the exploits that really ruin the game.
you actually got to shoot mephisto and didnt get hit ? if i ever tried that strat hed blow my ass away with that frozen orb, repeatedly. i was better off makeing valk to tank while i was shooting away. (which would work the same wether your on the other side of the trench or same side as him, as long as you kept valk up)
well if they do like they did in diablo 2, the more players in the game the harder it will get. so you might end up having to literally work together as a team, instead of (like in D2) being a party of 8 and none of you knows where the hell the other is in the zone(unless you had maphack). my 2 cents. i might make another deposite later.
Is any one else wondering about the bridge collapse, yea the barbarian has leap. what about the other characters ? the WD going to fly over on the back of locusts ? and what about the other classes? (that we dont know of yet).
Was Just wondering. if they had played through that part with the WD it wouldnt have bothered me, unless every class has a Jump ? Spacebar ?
maybe you missed the part where i said it only took seconds (in D1) hours Pre LOD (in D2) and a week post lod (also in D2) to get a char from lvl 1 - 70+ and respec your character.
people will do it wether or not you can do a simple respec or not. thing is, why make them waste the time. there was no character in any diablo game that had a build so uber some one else couldnt kill as fast as them or beat them in pvp. bowazons got killed by sorcs, sorcs got ate up by bowazons, paladins killed both and were killed by both ect ect ect... there wasnt 1 leet build that could destroy all in pvp or pve.
so.. there was NO build that was "unique" there were thousands of minion mancers, hundreds of thousands Bowazons and Javazons, more Barbs with every possible build (that was any good) than you could count, butt loads of zealadins (and before them the hammerdins / FoH pala's)
i had the "best"(there was no best build, just the one you personally liked the most) character there was to make simply cause remaking a char only took hours up untill lod came out, and not even as soon as it did it was a few patches afterwords, in which case if you screwed up a char it only took a week or less to get back to lvl 70+ with roughly 15 hours+ of grinding constant runs.
Edit: Having kids takes alot of time away from being able to play vid games ^ ^. im officially a Casual player of the diablo series now. i havent Been able to be a HC players for quite some time, between work/helping my fiance with house work/and kids... its a pretty busy schedule. the respec would just make it more convenient for me is all
All of this ^ is just 1 persons opinion, if some of you dont like it thats just fine, but please put down the reasons you dont think it would work/fit into the diablo series. id like to argue my points against yours (not flame each other. Frankly i have better things to do than bicker with people that dont have any thing better to do.)
If Blizzard makes it take months to level (which i hope they wont, cause this isnt a mmo, its a Rpg) And they dont add a respec, they will ruin the gameplay for many "casual" players (as the majority of them dont have hours a day to throw away making a new character). if it only takes hours to get to lvl 80+ i dont care if they add the respec or not (chances are most casual players wouldnt mind too much either, it would take them longer than some one that could play multiple hours a day, but only because they would space out their play time). but if they put it 'respecing' in there it would be that many hours a player (casual or otherwise) wouldnt have to waste grinding to enjoy the level of gameplay they want.;)
A tab system on the Storage would be cool with me... look at Guildwars, they have have a tab system and it works just fine. imo. (probably the only thing i would take from that game though) Maybe have a Tab for Weapons, a seperate tab for Armor, another tab for Rings, another tab for Charms/runes/Gems ect ect.
or if they add Bags / Crates ect ect... we could have multiple "bags/crates" in our storage say each bag can hold, 6 items ? each crate can hold 12? you could trade/buy more if you need them sell/trade if you have too many. eh dunno just ideas i have seen in other games.
paying for respecs wouldnt exactly be "fair" to people that are more strapped on cash.
for instance, patch comes out your WD's build is now worse than using a lvl 1 skill. you respec for 10$ to the current fav build.
Next patch comes out and your builds crappier than the last, so now you pay twice as much, ect ect. dont forget diablo is a game you play for years and years (if you love the game) and after multiple patches to fix balancing issues or what have you. fixing your char will cost more than the game did to begin with.
personally i dont see what the big deal is with respecing ? i played diablo since D1 and yea we didnt have respecs back then buuut i'll admid i cheated my ass off in D1 so i didnt need to respec... godmode, max stats, spell of apoc, Invisible nova (for pking without letting any one know what was going on) not to mention i could change stats at a whim, id even change level.
Respecin in Diablo2... well i never got hacks for d2 other than map hack once or twice. but cmon... if i messed up a build i just had a friend rush me to Hell cows in less than an hour. it only took me 6hours of hell cows (roughly) to be lvl 75+ so... to respec my char id delete, remake and 6 hours later my char was few levels weaker but i had like 200+ stat points and around 80 skill points to distribute however i wanted. *this was legit*
then they came out with that update so you could not be rushed to hell cows like that buuut it still didnt slow you down alll that much, youd grind in arcane sanc till you could kill the ancients (because of level req). then grind in Baal runs. get rushed to nm ancients kill them and regrind in NM diff till you could do hell... then kill hell ancients and grind again. this took alot longer but it was kinda retarded why waste days remaking a char and being forced to mindlessly grind when you could just respec.
Respecing would get rid of alot of leechers i think also. because being lvl 10 or so in hell cows you have nothing to do BUT leech and look around for some unique/rare drops. Yea i said it, i was a leech. sue me !:D
Sorry for all the text, i ment to make a short post.

if any of you havent tried Diablo1 you really should, your missing out on a good game (if abit out dated)
Edit: Oh, just dont play it on battle.net, so many hackers (last time i checked anyways) unless you try it with some friends, play through it legit.
