By the time I could find ONE gemshrine I could find about 10 or more gems of various quality and types, just from questing. OR if I really wanted gems I could do runs (even solo) and have a load more.

Exactly, that is how it pretty much was.
Quite and rightfully so. Should one desire rare items, one had to work for it by destroying monsters of all kinds. One finds the rewards to be far better and fairly acquired. Thus we find another reason against the addition of illogical gem-shrines for this game. The near useless practicality of it, not to mention the effortless convenience it offers, should preclude it from being included again.

One would be inclined to think a small chest spewing out hundreds of gold and items of magic and rare quality would be quite curios also.
Indeed. Effort is required before a payoff is expected. Thus, these too would need to be removed. Or at least, have such structures produce items of lower value.

So... gem shrines are somehow illogical?
Indeed. Whereas most other shrines produces various temporary benefits and enchantments, gem-shrines produces rare items that are not temporary in nature. This would be akin to a shrine one encounters which produces say... a rare item, without much in the way of effort. An unrealistic and illogical proposition would one not think so?

The way you speak does not make you a step above anyone else here.
An acutely confused accusation friend. Should one, such as myself, think of such a thing, one would not expect to participate in any discussion brought forward here. On the contrary, as one can plainly see, one strives to encourage a much more meaningful and intelligent communication and information exchange. A set of actions that completely contradicts your accusation.

To be straight forward with you...I enjoy a challenge in games more so then a lot of people, I have always been against cheats and anything that would make a game easier by user. Your talking to someone who as rightfully earned every level in any RPG, hack and slash etc. through and through...but if blizzard put it in the game then I figured why not use it...and by the way....lose the Yoda dialect, I assure you, that you are not that leet.
Then there is no disagreement with the replacement of an illogical concept to that of a logical one.

With respect to my communication methods friend, perhaps one is in need of some perspective. By allowing myself to communicate in a way that is indifferent to the great multitude here, why that would be akin to having one orally release a ball of saliva into a great ocean. Indistinguishable and bland. Would one not not find it better to hold up a champagne glass containing sparkly fluids, and announce a toast far above said ocean?

Gem shrines were few and far between...so getting a free gem every once and a while without having to dispatch a enemy was nice every once and a while, and to be completely honest with you I easily got about 2 gems average almost at a time when taking out a mob. So it is not like the shrines helped me to the point to where I thought, oh boy, I can't believe Blizzard put these in the game.
If the slaying of monsters pose no issues to oneself during the acquisition of gemstones, then one would also not expect it to pose any issues should one encounter them in a gem mine. Right?

Unless of course one harbors a hidden preference towards convenience more so than diligent effort?

SO thats what gem shrines are? I didnt feel like reading up on the topic couse I thought there would be supid arguing are somethin like that
Indeed. Convenient structures containing a precious gemstone in locals inhabited by dark creatures, and which is completely ignored by said creatures even though they hoard said stones.

It would be better if gem shrines did not make a second appearance. The idea of having a rare stone given away as one would expect a candy vending machine or have a random stone in ones inventory upgraded, did not make much in the way of logical sense.

One would think it better to have players 'work' for their precious stones. In which case perhaps this would be what the developers had in mind when ordering a concept sketch of gem mines, dark places containing monsters one is required to dispatch before one is rewarded with one or more gems.

Also, the extreme use of "one" got on my nerves a little. I don't know about anyone else here; you could've just said "you'll notice" or something.
One may have indeed verbally communicated in a manner of which you speak, however should one have done so, certain readers could have been seduced towards merely skim-reading. One, such as myself, would prefer individuals receive an adequate amount of mental anguish when one visually absorbs typographical information, for that stimulates the necessary rage sufficient to initiate charged communication exchange.

    Yes indeed.

And should anyone be interested in wondering certain thought processes within certain parts of my cranium, that is a large banana floating behind the warrior. A second guess would be Diablo, looking behind our hero, thus those shapes represent the demons horns. However one finds that to be exceedingly unlikely, as such a conclusion would be considerably obvious.

Update : Another batch of new concepts here
Update: Yet another batch of new images here

Here is an assortment of interesting things found throughout the primary Diablo3 website. First up is the emanciated creature with three nails puncturing the skull of its draped head:

At first glance, there appears to be nothing amis. However, when one removes the background through basic difference layering, one discovers.. splotches.

Upon closer inspection however, one makes out what appears to be several scotch-tape patterns:

Yes indeed, should one decide to create quality sketches, one must not forget the use of the ever purposeful scotch-tape.

Next is the demonic rendition of Cain. One notes runic writings visible behind his head:

Following the background removal procedure, one can again make out... splotches and stains. Stains from coffee rings and paint:

One then focuses attention on this gorgeous lady:

According to Cain, this is Adria. One however doubts whether this is the case, since the voice of Adria was that of an old haggish woman. Proceeding with the procedure, one discovers more scotch-tape marks, stains, runic and english writings:

Coming up to number four, a sketch that has caused many debates throughout the site:

Many have wondered whether this character is an angel or something else, undoubtly due to the appearance of strange structures behind its back. What further structures may be revealed once the background is removed one asks? Let us visually experience this:

An interesting view, certainly the trees in the background is suggestive of something, but further intensification is required:

One is now in no doubt as to what these structures represent. It is none other than a Banana.

Following the character above, one then brings attention to this other character:

Again, strange structures are apparent thus causing many a debates to rage uncontrollably throughout the net. Let us allow ourselves a little clarification:

Unfortunately there appears to be little for us to discern apart from what has already been suggested around, that of Peacock armors and the like.

One now ends a look into Cains journal by noting the strange faded red symbol:

What could it be? Let us examine this with additional closeness:

One can now clearly define the Viking symbol on the far right of the page. One can also make out a four-by-four tic-tac-toe game enclosed in a circle. But is it indeed the result of an artist bored with his time, or one that ran out of parchment? Not quite. Should one decide to do a little detective work, one discovers that this particular symbol is representative of a 'prison' or 'places to avoid'.

And finally, should one take but one glance at the Media page, one notices more symbols strewn about on the page:

Following cancellation procedures and color enhancements, one is then left with this:

The symbol on the left has several meanings. The curved shape represents the Moon. The crossed globe represents the Earth. Both together is suggestive of a divine being, or God. The curvy shapes at the sides of the crossed-globe represents that of 'Baptism' or 'Love'.

The symbol on the right has an altogether different meaning. The center-most shape is that of a symetrical pyramid, with a line cutting it vertically. The line represents 'Oneness', 'Unique Being' or 'Authority'. The triangle represents 'Power' or 'Divinity'. Both together represents 'King', 'Dangerous Power' and 'Fire'. Immediately surrounding this shape is an upside-down triangle. This has a negative connotation, suggestive perhaps the negative aspects of what is contained within the shape. Finally, the final shape of a large pyramid/triangle enclosed in a circle represents the 'Holy-Trinity' or 'Three-In-One'.

Thus, one such as yourself, has reached the end of this brief look into assorted things one may not have noticed previously. The end.

During the consumption of mouth-wateringly warm pizza, does one consume just the cheese, or just the bread? But oh no friend, on the contrary, one stuffs as much of everything into ones mouth as possible without erupting into an abrupt and tearful splatter.

    What you LIKE About D3.
When one slows down the playback of the gameplay to 0.5x, one finds the commentators voice akin to that of a drunk. One also appreciates the depiction of nubile virgins, which in no way produces a certain involuntary reflex, being sacrificed by bad deranged men. And finally, one also finds a great and agreeable liking to the supremely accurate, anatomically attractive depiction of the female witch-nurse.

I'm pretty sure whatever new laptop you buy will be able to handle Diablo 3. Aren't Core2Duo, 1 gig ram, 128mb Video Card the standard now for laptops? If that is, that should be fine.

    Quote from "pernunz" »
We can only speculate, but they said a wide audience.
Maybe a single core 2.0 gHz, with 512 Ram, 128MB video card for the low settings?
Perhaps the most important component one must consider, is the hardware handling the graphical aspects of the game. Reducing this to the amount of memory integrated within is unfortunately woefully inadequate and insufficient. Doing so would be akin to stating that vehicles are powerful based on the size of its wheels. One should rightfully consider the engine to be of greater importance in such a case would one not? Thus, as with the vehicle analogy, one must first consider the primary engine of the hardware before considering the amount of memory available to its disposal.
