The lag is Bnet-based. It's Blizzard's Lag. It's the server lag. IT'S NOT THE GODDAMN ISP ALREADY.
Funny, in 2 years of playing D2 & LOD, the only lag I ever remember was when bosses would die and I would miss the loot. Im Know every once in a great while I would get de-synced, and when I realized it I would just quick exit (I played mostly HC after realizing how pointless SC was), but I dont ever remember it being a regular thing, especially in private games with my friends.
Oh, and if people want quality servers and quality support, your going to be paying for it. Get used to it. Customer service is great in WoW compared to many ggames, its in their interest to keep their customers satisfied. Whenever costs(prices) go down, the first thing thats seems to go with it iis customer service.
I cant believe, and am quite impressed truthfully, that blizzard still pays for WC, SC, and D2 servers to operate when those games havent delivered any real revenue in years. Can anyone tell me if they run banner adds or something to offest the costs? Or mabey the addiction known as WoW is the reason our servers are still up. However Blizz is paying, you have to admit that they do spend some coin running those servers to keep all us old-school gamers satisified.

Not pointing fingers here, or trying to start a panick, but popular websites have been hacked before.

look at all the rebalancing that was done to Kara, Gruul, and SSC once players actually got there en mass. you could argure that none of that content was truly "ready" when BC went live.

I wish I had all of my old links and guides for the fastest leveling. some of them were downright amazing for getting through the more tedious levels. you can probably google WoW (Alliance/Whored) leveling guide and find a bunch of guides.

Anyways, I got on a newly formed server, so everything was even across all the players. I got into a guild that eventually became a raiding guild around lvl 55ish. We had lots of sucesses, while not being the server first on alot, we did lead the alliance progress once we got into Naxx. (MC/BWL/AQ to Emps on weekly farm status) 9 bosses into it BC came out, and pretty much ruined the game for us.
Kara as a 10 man split the guild, and the alliance server population was only about 250 players strong. Breaking point came when we trying to down Magtheridon for the thirs time, and we had people leave the raid becasue they wanted to do Serpentshire Caverns instead. We pretty much dissolved. People who still wanted to play went to more populated servers, and from what I hear, they were doing amazing, leading DPS/Heal meters their first days there.
But WoW is raiding once you have all the normal dungons done. Raiding requires a daily commitment. PvP was/is an afterthought, and true serious PvP is even almost as big a commitment as raiding, you just need less people.
As for how I finally left, I had to go for an internship for a month over the summer. I didnt want to server transfer and start a new guild that I knew I couldn't commit to, so I didnt do anything. When I came back, I only logged in one other time to show somone else my characters. My account expired, and I walked away cold turkey.
Of course it is WoW and my characters are still there, and if WotLK is anything like BC, all those great epics people spent countless hours to get will be replaced by blues and greens before they hit lvl 75. Who knows, I might go back as a casual to experence the scenerey, but ill never be a raider again.
Was WoW a great game? Yea, it is. Everyone should at least try the 10-day trial. Just be warned that despite the graphics( i personally love them), the game is incredibly addicting, and you have to have restraint, or exceptional time management skills (and an extreemly accepting wife ;)) to be able to play and have a life outside of the game.

Where are you buying it from? THey should be able to tell you if its CD's or DVD's.

Ill be following this thread. I have 2 copies on two seperate computers, but I can never get them both into the same game. It allways says the latencey is too high.

Which leaves me with a question, Diablo didnt drop anything. Is this just on B.net? Because I remember the first time I beat the game in SP, Diablo had like 2 unique drops when I killed him.

Will there be a limit to the number of accounts a single CD Key can create?
We all love hoarding goodies, will there be any way to facilitate muleing items, or will it be up to players to come up with their own methods?
Will there be a common chest for a character, or even a chest across an entire account?
