posted a message on D3's Wizard is ASIAN!?!
It's obvious the intention of the Wizard class both male and female is to be Asian in appearance hands down. It doesn't matter if you've never seen an Asian male with a pointy nose like that, they definitely exist. The main reason the male Wizard has a pointy nose is because they idealized the Asian male the same way they idealized the Asian female.

It's already enough that the Asian characters are always the frail magic using/assassin types, I doubt they want to stir up a shitstorm by making the Male wizard non-Asian but the female completely Asian.

posted a message on Balanced & Successful Gameplay and Economy
While many of your correct points are basic stuff people know, a lot of the things you have said are critically biased.

Saying MFing is necessary in capital letters does not say anything about why it's necessary. In a balanced economy MFing only increases inflation by a large percentage. Do you realize this?

Allowing for people to lose items by getting them stolen while trying to transfer them or getting scammed in a trade window is simply bad for business. 99% of players out there will be pissed off when this happens and will not come to the conclusion that they want to be stolen from like you obviously have. Building safeties into the game doesn't kill the game at all. A sense of loss is acceptable, but a sense of getting stolen from is not. We try to disencourage thievery in the real world, as someone always gets hurt. Why is it any different in Diablo? You're point here carries no logical weight whatsoever and is simply what you want. It's not good for the popularity of the game at large.

PKing. This is disputable, but nothing you have said about it is particularly new or convincing. An equal if not larger population will fight your biased opinion on this.

Please think out your arguments better next time.

    Quote from "Daemaro" »
That seems pretty unbalanced. What if you're a ranged or magic character and just kill the devilkin? You now just avoided the most annoying death ever just for being a non melee character. :P

Not necessarily. Think bigger, the AI can be programmed to have groups scatter so they can't be hit effectively by AOE and surround and attack from different directions so very few monsters can be killed all at once. Yeah, ranged guys might have a bit of an advantage inherently, but it's not like melee characters don't have overpowered moves either (charge, leap, etc.) that help move them around. Difficult AI will actually make a lot of previously useless moves more valuable given how the AI reacts.

Yes, advanced horde AI might be hard to pull off, but it's exactly the type of innovation that the genre needs. Especially considering that hack and slash games generally have the most monsters to work with and therefore the most interesting possibilities in tactical AI.

posted a message on Should Enemies have Smarter AI?
Think about it. Dungeon crawlers always have one of the most simplest enemy AI of all game types out there. Diablo is no exception with practically every enemy in the game simply walking up to you in a straight line and beating ass until they die. Sure, some enemies use a magical move or two (ressurection, fireballs, etc.), and some others do the typical throw projectile and retreat strategy. But are these things really "smart" enemy AI?

Don't you think that in this day and age it's finally time for Diablo to get its biggest innovation of all -> highly intelligent enemies?

When I say this, I at least mean the brutes in Halo 3. Why is it that I still see zombies and ghouls simply walking up to me and beating my ass with no regard for self preservation? Why is it that skeleton archers aren't dodging my ass the same way pro Starcraft players can micro their marines? Why is it that absolutely no one is trying to incorporate better AI into a generally stale game type where enemy AI is at its worst?

If good enemy AI would make the game too hard, then why not just incorporate it on higher difficulties only? Blizzard says they don't want to make the game harder by simply spiking the enemy toughness and difficulty in general, so why not spike the AI instead?

(On another note, why not have enemies that have overpowered moves that the players must physically dodge to add a skill element and combine this with great AI? The possibilities are endless.)

EDIT: Note that shield bearers and berserkers protecting skeleton archers/cultists are NOT an example of good AI. Remember that the entire level you saw in the demo was completely pre-placed and static. The only reason these monsters appeared to be helping eachother was simply because they were PLACED in strategic positions beforehand. The berserkers still mindlessly tried to hit the barbarian and only looked like he was protecting cultists because he was already in front of them (the same going for the shieldbearers). Also, it's completely obvious that the Goatman Shaman leading his goatmen around was blatantly scripted. This and the other things I mentioned have nothing to do with advanced AI whatsoever.

posted a message on Will Making Item Drops Area Specific Draw Attention Away from "Runs"?
The two ideas above this are pretty good. Overall, the formula can be tweaked in a huge number of ways to add another level of depth to the game in my opinion.

We all know what Baal runs are, and to be honest, the experience gets pretty damn dry. Do you think that by making certain items only drop in certain places we could finally decentralize the farming process?

For example Trag's set only drops in some deepass dungeon, or xxxx set piece only drops in Forests of xxxx. Of course there will always be good items that drop in all places, but if a sorc of something wants some specific equipment, then she won't find that bs doing Baal Run's all day. This could possibly rid the world of the same boring Baal/Diablo/Meph runs forever.

Edit: Sorry I didn't mean the same item always drops after killing things in a specific area, I mean that the loot tables only contain a portion of Diablo 3's items in that specific area. So not all the game's items have a chance of dropping in every area. Some items will have a chance of dropping in xxxx area and perhaps also in xxxx other area.

This will make it so that you will have to kill things in a variety of places (assuming you know which area has a chance of dropping the item you want). Naturally, different classes will want different things and farm different areas therefore spreading out the player population dramatically. Killing the final boss will only get you so many possible items, but other items will be located elsewhere.

No, this will not stop people from doing runs of a specific area for specific items, however the diversity of the runs overall will be greatly enhanced leading to a more interesting play experience as you get to visit more different places.

posted a message on 1 Item per Slot or Inventory Tetris
The only thing that is retarded, is the fact that no one is giving any logical reasons why a one item to one slot inventory is bad. The next person that mentions that it is "too much like WoW" as an argument against it needs to grow up and start using his brain.

Here, I'll give a good argument, the inventory tetris adds a sort of minigame of management that is kind of fun to play around with and makes the items you get appear more valuable. It also gives you an additional and very real reason to go back to town once in a while other than to heal.

On the negative side, the tetris is bad because it's just not convienent to the user, and doesn't seem to be a step forward into modern gaming that has seen great advances towards making games easier and more simple to play. Maybe some people don't like going back to town very often. Not to mention that no one really likes throwing items away.

posted a message on Please, Blizzard, let there be a monthly fee.
    Quote from "Murderotica" »
I been lurcking around this forum for about a week and finally registered. I just wanted to add my thoughts in about this. Read before you flame please.

There are many reasons I would like there to be a monthly fee, or at least wouldn't mind it.

    1. Keep the kiddies out. I am tired of 14 year old punks ruining my gaming experience. With a monthly fee, that is payable by credit card not game card, it would get rid of a lot of immaturity and would result in a better game. The game is rated M for a reason. Go watch your bob the builder and leave the gaming to the adults, thanks.

    2. If blizzard plans to regularly update this game like wow, then I don't mind one bit paying for the content. It would give extra money to blizz for new enhancements and whatnot. We were all complaining about how d2 hardly ever got updated. Well, why should they when they have no reason incentive to. Added levels, bosses, items, bug fixes, and world events is way worth the cost to me.

There are many other reason however those are the main two.

Also, something else i thought of. Let say they start out with a fee of 5-10 dollars a month. Thats cheap as hell. However, every time you are caught using a hack, cheat, or exploit they raise that price 5 dollars. It would be a incentive not to cheat because it would start effecting the wallet.

Lastly, to the people who say they they cant afford a monthly payment. Honestly, if you cant afford 15 bucks max a month then you really need to get a better job or something and not play games. Im sorry, but if you are struggling to pay that small ammount of money you have other issues.
Bring your lunch to work 3 days a MONTH and save that money.
Dont spend 19 bucks at the movies and have that money.
Dont buy a case of beer and you can have the money.
If you are responsible with it you can easily find extra money.

Well thats my two cents, flame on.

Your first point is critically biased. It is immature to believe that all kids that are 14 are brats that will ruin your game experience. I don't care how old you are Murderotica, you already sound like you alone would ruin my experience. Saying that all the kids you *know* use game cards to pay monthly fees is not evidence, I can say that all the kids I know use their dad's credit card in that case.

Yes, 15 bucks a month is not a lot, however once you get a job, your own place, start paying the bills, then you will realize that it is not the amount that is being payed that irks people, it is the sheer idea of paying your hard earned money for something intangible and not directly connected to your survival (especially when talking about social value).

Your second point on giving blizzard money to update is a little more understandable. Money does inspire a sort of loyalty to the players. However, in my own opinion I feel that I can probably live with whatever normal updates come out rather than paying for more frequent ones.

You know what I voted for.

This name has gotten me kicked out of every MMO out there. I don't know about you, but I like to maintain my grip on reality rather than escape into a fantasy world as someone I'm not.

Funny though, what if my name is Dick? I'm being discriminated against!

posted a message on Reasons why PK should stay in D3. A detailed analysis (long)
You've written a lot, but unfortunately your "opinion" on the matter does not contain any real fact anywhere. You are naturally strongly bias, however the problem is that somehow you do not realize your word carries no more proof than the anti-PK camp's word. Most if not all of your reasons do nothing to entail that your arguments are true at all, and therefore it can be concluded that you have written a huge wall of nothing.

Your worst offense is probably the part where you say (something like this):

Anti-PK camp: The majority of people don't want PK.

    Your Answer:

Wrong. So wrong. Why? Because all those people are stupid, which is why the world is so fucked up. The majority actually wants PK and I have seen many polls reflecting this (except that you have shown absolutely no evidence to back up this "fact" other than you wanting it to be true).

Okay, lets say that there are polls out there that say that more people have voted for having PK in the game. How does this prove anything about the greater majority of the ENTIRE world? Anyone can argue that they have seen the opposite result in another poll and be just as "correct" as you are. Not to mention that you just debunked your own argument here by saying that the greater majority of people are stupid anyways.

Sorry, but I don't have the time to take apart the rest of your "arguments", although I am actually in full support of PVP in general.
