I would have to add onto the questions about a playable demo being released.
I know it will be too far in advance to give us a time period, but could you perhaps let us know when an announcement about a demo would be coming? (Eg. In october we plan to announce the demo)

I think runes will work in the same way as gems, and there will possibly be runeword or rune-gem word comibinations, but they won't be so biased towards the high-skill players.
Instead of the 30 something runes there were, now we have ones like lethality, vitality, power, and varying levels of this; minor, moderate, mega (or something)
Lethality might be the equivalent of bleeding/open wounds in D2
Vitality might be life steal in a weapon, +vitality in a helmet etc.
Power Power Lethality might be something, but depending on the strengths of the runes used, will depend on the effectiveness of the runeword.
Also just saw the final boss in the demo dropped an Amulet. Maybe medallions are what charms have become -

Early skills that don't go up to 20. I Can't express how happy I am with this.
Why would any barbarian have level 20 leap, when he can have level 20 leap attack. Or a sorceress with fire bolt instead of fire blast (except for the synergies)
This will make the game a lot more linear in the early stage, which is needed imo, with customisation later on, once you have had time to experience the game.
Runes seem pretty basic, which is good (way too much emphasis on the crazy runewords after the patch), but star gems may replace them, in a simpler way. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Say your nearing your download limit for the month with a week or so to go, or your internet breaks down, you can still play with your character, and experiment a little, go exploring with the character you've put hours/days/weeks into.
Of course, there'd have to be ways so that no-one could upload a character to battle net, it would have to be strictly a one-way thing

Can't blame them for not doing it really.
In this day and age where virtually every gamer with a half decent computer will have broadband, why make the games LAN based?
Suppose for LAN places they will either need to purchase a license for X versions, but good on blizzard I say.
Heck, I didn't pay for diablo 2 and LAN'd, if there's no LAN, then more people will pay for it being a mostly co-op game

They've said they'll develop the game first, then the selling mechanics.

Where Blizzard is, there also the role play "Diablo 3" is. And presently both in Leipzig are on the Games Convention, of where out of you new picture material is served in the form of draft sketches and Screenshots. Moreover the developer let a couple of information about the contents of the title of the pile.
In the new part, the events are behind out of "Diablo 2" approximately 20 years. Nevertheless will meet again its next to dec Ard Caine some trusted faces and will search for well known places such as dreary ram. Sometimes can explore its areas of new moreover the Sanktuariums. In the character choice has its freedom this time larger: Unlike in the predecessor freely can select its to everyone of the five classes your sex.
All that is future music, for for a Releasetermin, it is yet too early according to Blizzard. If it is then so far, "Diablo 3" should appear at the same time for the PC and the Mac

If they make the beginning of the game tough enough that you need to invest in low level skills from the start, then re-specification will be necessary to build the best possible character, so you can withdraw large amounts of gold from the world by allowing this respecification.
For each additional re-specification point, you need more and more gold (or there is a limit) and whilst people are searching for the perfect build of a character, they will need gold, especially in the latter stages of the game.

Nice work topic creator.

Would be good if there were different kinds of stadia. One's that utilise the physics engine, in terms of pillars, and other destructible objects.

You then go on to say how it needs similar music and items as was in D2?
Make up your mind, do you want a re-done D2, or an entirely new game?

Assuming you have a similar sidekick to Cain throughout the game, they could be implemented in the Respecifcation.
Cain has a shop, which you can only sell items or donate gold to. Somewhere there, it has a bar which signifies how close you are to gaining a respecification point (You get the shop value equivalent or less for the item). For each additional respecification point, you would need to give him more items/gold, to either a limiting amount, or a continually growing amount.

Endurance: I agree would be OK
Vision: The dev's said that it would be that you could see other heroes, and light radius can easily be combated by increasing the gamma either in game, on the monitor, or with video card software.
Fortune: Don't personally like the idea, but agree that MF needs to be a similar amount with each class, not like D2 where sorceress's could quite easily become MF-ers, but Barbarians were much tougher to create MF'ing out of
Perseverance: Seems pretty useless to be honest

COME ON, REALLY, What is the point of this thread

Whilst I agree with it in principle, how will it really work though. You can just be in an area with respawning monsters that your merc will kill off without you taking any damage.
This system would only benefit the best players, making a greater gulf between the best and the newest
