I think he was referring to cannons. I suppose in 20 years he could have scaled down to a hand cannon. Knights of Columbus I hope they didn't though because thats going to create another petition and more development time for Blizzard to change things.

I only think they are going to keep two characters from DII. More than two and the old classes would outnumber the new. The sorcress is probably the other one. I read a recent interview where Jay Wilson made a point to bring up one skill in specific, blizzard. He was talking about how its been in so many Blizzard games and how its sort of a signature. If its not the sorcress then I would say the amazon. Just for the fact that the class is not one of the more used class types by other RPGs.

The other two new classes? Who knows. I think they're going to be as much of surprises as the witch doctor was. Something that not everyone thinks of.

Yup, I'm aware that if Blizzard announces something like that, it will create quite the uprising. Just imagine:

    NEW Character Class: MARKSMAN

"In the dark times of Baal's invasion of Mt. Arreat, the bold barbarian Larzuk had an idea to exact vengeance upon the Hordes of Hell: the manipulation of gunpowder as a weapon of great might. His unusual weapons were not ready to do battle with the minions of Destruction, but after the collapse of Mt. Arreat, Larzuk moved to Entsteig, were he was sponsored by the royalty to continue the development of these new weapons. With the passing of years, he improved the designs into the first riifles of Sanctuary, and now many warriors in Entsteig have become incredibly skilled in the art of the gunpowder, even enchanting their weapons with arcane rituals and creating their own explosives. 20 years later, the marksman, first dismissed as pure fantasy, is not an uncommon sight in Sanctuary."

    Ah.... fresh quality posters. =)

I second the return of Hratli and even more Ormus. They were some of the most interesting NPC'S. Also Drognan wouldn't be a bad pick, although I think Lut Gholein will not make an appearance in DIII. There are far more interesting settings left to explore.

Since they are adding new twists to the classes, maybe this time the ranged class will be based around gunpowder weapons? Do you fellas remember when Qual-Kek taks about Larzuk's crazy ideas with gunpowder and iron tubes... A hint perhaps?

posted a message on Speculation about DIII Acts
Evening, honorable gentlemen of this fine website devoted to the unmatched glory that is the Diablo series. There have been some pretty interesting discussions about various aspects of Diablo III here, but I have observed none pertaining the structure and locations that we will get to visit in the acts.

By taking a good look at the new revamped map and at some of the artwork that graces the DIII website, one can make some guesses as to what we should expect. Here are mine, feel free to ad yours.

    Without chronological order:

    a) Kingdoms of the West act: Developers already said that the game starts in Tristram, so it's a sure bet we'll revisit some old favorites here, but for the third visitation to the Diablo universe I hope we get to delve further in places such as Westmarch or perhaps (but unlikely) Entsteig.

    B) Kehjistan act: One of the new locations we'll get to visit is Caldeum, so maybe this decaying city will be the hub of an act, and since it look to be a massive place maybe the progression will be something like this: The slums of Caldeum, then advancing into nicer zones of the city, and finally unraveling some kind of conspiracy involving Belial perhaps? Next you go into the semi-arid wilds in pursuit of the demon, who is heading to Ureh to seize some kind of untold power. The map kind of suggests this as Caldeum and Ureh are relatively near.

    c) Xiansai & Scosglen act: I think it's time for Blizzard to reveal these regions, as they are some of the most enigmatic of Sanctuary (not to mention they are very far from the regions were the other games took place). For this act, maybe we will get to travel trough the corrupted forests of the druids, with the hub in Xiansai (it's no coincidence they put a name to this previously unnamed island). I get a hunch that Azmodan, the Lord of Sin (in some views the sin means corruption) is messing real bad with the Druid homeland, and we'll be tasked with the cleansing of Túr Dúlra, (a la Monastery). Here's hoping a heavily corrupted form of the Sacred Oak Glór-an-Faidhá ( or maybe Azmodan fused with the Oak?) as the End Act Boss.

    d) Amazon Isles act: I feel there needs to be an act with a kind of "sea theme", and isles such as Skovos (if my memory is correct Skovos has been mentioned by th DIII developers) fit perfectly the bil. I realize that currently there is not much love for Warcraft here, but in the Frozen Throne expansion of WCIII, you get to explore the Broken Isles and the Tomb of Sargeras. I SO liked that setting, with it's "long lost empire" vibe, something similar for the Amazon Isles would be great, and let's not forget there is a great mountain stepped in the lore located there (Mt. Karcheus sp? I think)

    e) Former Barbarian Higlands act: If we are lucky we'll be seeing firsthand the effects of the Worldstone destruction all over the wilderness, it is a premise that sets the stage for many fantastic sights. The change of the area to "Dreadlands" is and interesting one indeed, and I hope the route goes trought them into a progressively more war torn landscape and finally into the battlefields surrounding Arreat Crater. Pure ownage if they implement something like this. And then, the third strike to hell follows, as we enter the fiery rift in the crater...

As the thread title says, this is purely speculation, but it is great fun taking chances at what content we will be getting when the game it's ready. =) As for the expansion, a foray into the Teganze jungles and the Ruins of Inarius Cathedral of Light? Jejeje. Let's stop it now.

Finally, I have one, very important question: Got tequila? (I'm mexican, by the way.) =)
