The impact of adding CHD is multiplicative to Current CHC.

    A x ( B+C ) = ( A x B ) + ( A x C )

If B is current CHD before the necklace and C is the value on the necklace, with A being current CHC, then A x C can be used as the increase.

Mikhail, could you post a build. The Blizzard skill calculator is nice but doesn't include itemization. Wujido has a build but it's basically get the 6 piece buff then you have a lot of options.

Well that's nice but I'm interested in how some of the variations perform.

What I'm looking for is a really fast T6 build for full clears. Mostly I just want to kill the RG then find all the pools of reflection for maximizing XP in greater rifts. You can usually find 2 or 3 in a lesser rift. And finding fast seems like the way to go.

Aside from a socketed Ruby there isn't much else DH can do to take advantage of XP scaling in Grifts.

Thanks. And by the way, nice job on Build your Way.

Mainstat is almost never better than another offensive buff, socket included.

Max is 1000 Dex on an Ancient Amulet. Say you have 10,000 Dex without the Ammy. Improving it would 11,000. The upgrade would be a 10% increase in Damage. The best Gems are infinitely upgradeable and usually far exceed this at Rank 25. Elemental buffs go up 20% on Amulets, bracers & SoJ. Even stacked the 3rd time, even with diminishing returns, it's better than a 10% increase. Crit at 100% CHD would increase by the product of 100% * %CHC. So at even at a low %age of 40%. this is 40% increase. My character has over 60% CHC. So 100% CHD would be an increase of over 60% Damage.

The only time you keep Dex on jewelry is when you have Vit or any other defensive skill to roll off in it's place.

posted a message on what to improve to jump to t6 rift solo ? and some questions from newbie

I you are using that dagger, it would be in your offhand, right? So you main hand would have another weapon. So if you gemmed that to max, your weapons apart from your other gear would have 260%. So I don't see how you wouldn't have enough CHD. 400% CHD is the minimum you want for using a 2-handed weapon. But, dual-wielding shouldn't struggle with exceeding 500% CHD.

Charge shouldn't be an alternating weapon skill. So ideally, you're going to want an Ancient 1-handed weapon in your main hand for damage. I don't know a lot about barb skills but I know you can craft a 1-handed ax called Utar's Roar. It rolls with +Cold Damage. So if you go with a cold rune, you will get a buff. This is going to be a way faster way to get an Ancient weapon than Kadala. Not suggesting you not use Kadala for your end game weapon. Only suggesting that you do this until Kadala has an off day and actually drops something you want.

    Slow rolling the Grifts:

When you start Greater Rifts, you will receive a Legendary Gem. This will happen until you have all of them either in your personal inventory or in your stash.

Normally 1 per finish. If you finish the Grift under the time limit, you get the option to upgrade the either the gem or the keystone.

If you finish with more than 4 min 30 second on the clock you will skip levels.

The fastest way to get all the legendary gems is to slow roll. Basically you start at Tier 1 and advance 1 Tier at upgrade.

So you want want to go to the trials and leave immediately. The clock will keep ticking while you are in town. When the timer end, you will get a Tier 1 Keystone. Enter the rift, and the monsters will be really easy to kill. For the most part they are Level 1 Monsters so they hardly have any Hitpoints.

Kill them until you get to the high 90% completion, but, do not actually get to 100%. Take note of how much time is left on the timer. Leave, do something else. Possibly a bounty if short. Otherwise make progress on one of them. The most important thing to do is return to Town by way of the Waypoint that you exited when you got to the bounty location. DO NOT use your teleport (read do not press Ctrl+T). If you teleport this will replace the one you created when you exited the Grift. So you will have to walk from the entrance back to where you left off. Return with about 5 Minutes left on the clock. But don't kill the Rift Guardian until under 4:30 is on the clock. After you kill the boss, Urshi will give you an option to get a keystone. If you did this right, you will only progress 1 Tier.

I don't recommend doing this for all the Gems. It takes a long time. But, do it until you get 1 of the gems you want. After you get the 1st gem you are looking for , go ahead and upgrade the gem. The rest of the gems will eventually drop while you are upgrading your 1st gem. The thing you should know is that to get a 100% chance for upgrade, you have to complete a Tier 10 ranks higher than your gem. So if you want 100% chance to get all 3 chance to upgrade your gem, you have to complete GR Tier 13. If you only do a Tier 11, the first upgrade will be 100%, then 2nd will be 90%, and the 3rd is 80%. So, do try to complete 10 higher than the gem you intend to upgrade. GR Tier 25 is close to Torment 6. There are 10 difficulties so every 2.5 GR Tiers will be about the difficulty. So GR3 is close to Hard and GR 5 is close to Expert...

You will reach a point where your gear won't support 100% upgrades. Try to get at least even with the GR Tier to the Gem Rank. This will be a 60% chance. There are a whole bunch of 60% upgrades. At 60%, you have about a 95% probability to get at least 1 upgrade in the 3 chances given. A lot of times you will get all 3, since each chance is a little better than a coin flip. The chances get ugly when you are upgrading from GR Tier lower than the Gem Rank. But, I've gotten the upgrade with 8% chances. But, if you complete it under the 15 minutes, it might be better to upgrade your keystone to increase your odds of getting a gem upgrade.

posted a message on Some help with this build would be appreciated

I would go Auguild's over Blackthorn. You would need to swap shoulder to pants. Then add the bracers. But this is 15% elite over 10%.

But better overall is full Nats with focus and restraint. So rings would drop out RRoG.

For me I'm rolling hat and shoes. But probably should be going after Ancient UE Chest with 12 Discipline. I have one but stuck with grenade damage. Would take one with Vit or Armor. Mine has 130 resistance so for now I will live with it. Probably switch if the helm drops as it will provide the most impact over boots.

posted a message on S3- How has your DH luck been this season?

I have yet to get a focus ring drop. Fortunately a clan member gave me one of his.

So I did get an excellent Ancient Kridershot. Still getting the hang of Focus /Restraint. But went from struggling to get to Tier 40 with M6 to jumping levels on 40 with key upgrades.

Should be able to push past this soon. Right now I am just under 400 paragon. No speed increase from ferrets with UE so getting past 400 will help as I haven't been able to throw Paragon at Dexterity.

This is a downside to UE over M6. You are 30 paragon behind. So that's actually 4x that since you rotate tabs.

I would gift for Elite damage. It would be a straight up muliplicatve since you pretty much can't get it anywhere else with UE.

I would suggest getting rid of your defensive gem and using an offensive one. There are 4 healing pools in there that are close along with your potion.

If you are playing in groups, switch over to the Gem of Efficacious Toxin. This will buff the group for 10% extra damage on top of the poisoning. Things will die much faster and get you further progression.

posted a message on More Arcane Dust

More blue items dropping is the worst solution. We are back to picking up potions. More useless stuff as we kill stuff. Actual Dust that stacks is way better. Dropping the ridiculous crafting costs is needed. Reapers wraps cost 72. It should not be 5 dust but 25 would be more fair.

Roll off Dex for a socket. CHD is not as important as CHC. What gem were you not going to equip?

Because Enforcer seems pretty important in the build along with BoT, Zei's, Golgok, or even Taeguk.

If you go Lightining with Krider, IAS is more important. Same with other spenders, Sentries casts when you do.

posted a message on PSA: Just to clear some confusion

If his intentions were to force the hand of Blizzard and he was willing to martyr his account, then I'm fine with the results. His means to get his desired outcome had penalties that he fully understood. He broke the rules openly. The others hid it. MC is abrasive and he got the other cheaters rolled back. It cost him his account. I'm glad he's accepting his penalty. We should all learn to accept the consequences of our intended acts. In this case, I think he knew he had a chance to keep his account, but ended up putting too many straws on the camel's back. In the end, he got what was coming to him. For those who closeted their cheats, I think they got an appropriate penalty. They only had speculation and why go through appeals processes. I don't want Blizzard spending resources being tied up in what would end up being a case-by-case review. But, I just hope Blizzard has a policy for escalating penalties with repeat violators.

My question is "Why wait until the patch/season went live?" He could have streamed it in PTR. I'm pretty sure if it was exposed then, he would still have his account. Because of this, I still have some reservations on his motives. I tend to see a dude just going down with a blaze of glory.

posted a message on Pain enhancer gem good ?

Physical build have +% damage on their gear. So PE will get that bonus, as well.

The Tox Gem might be better for Group play. 10% bonus from all sources at rank 25.

It does stack, but there is some debate on how this works in a group. Not sure if it's additive with other players or multiplicative.

I can't really test by myself, so, you might check the forums or post another thread for other's testing results.

One thing I've noticed is that the monsters don't drop health globes if they did from poisoning.

I might be wrong. But they just seem to just fade away and since there is no hit causing the death, a triggering event for the globe to spawn never happens. So this is something to consider if your build relies on health globes. It doesn't bother me because, I let them die behind me from poisoning. And I usually push forward and pop mobs with cluster arrows for the forward globe drops.
