A kid has tagged a swazi on my curb before, but I don't let it get to me. If you think this is a degrading joke about your religion then you my friend don't know anything about religious intolerance. Its people like you that make the rest of the world so self conscious about what they say and make sure they don't hurt the feelings of some over sensitive person. I say laugh at everything and make fun of everything. Thats why i watch southpark
Holy "%/$, a swastika?!?! Maybe he was a buddhist wishing you good fortune...
And yeah, that guy you quoted: He does have a point but he overreacted. He just needs to get a thick skin because as long as there's a fair amount of self-labelled Christians who don't act Christian at all there's going to be people pissed off/making fun of them. (and I think that was more of a cultural joke) And it's not okay to be openly racist most of the time on the net, but that's about it really... everything else is fair game most of the time.

Look on the other picture, I think you can see it better... actually, I just realised from the concept art it is in fact fur. They should still put a few protruding horns along its spine and make the horns on its arms more noticeable. Because they're small four-legged creatures and they don't look as boney or weird as in Diablo I they need more dangerous-looking parts because they kind of remind me of dogs or furry animals, which is not as scarey as a ambushing, fanatical flesh-borrowing horned demonspawn hound.
Other than that they're great
These aren't leapers they're scavengers. Leapers are cheap imitations:P I hope they still make that dying sound. (D1 scavenger dying sound)

Great idea! That way the community wouldn't be split into 4 (assuming HC is in).
EDIT: This version of pure mode also makes sense, and is kind of like lone wolf mode without the name. "Pure" mode sounds a bit too self-righteous imo (And this is coming from someone who would have at least one, maybe more lonewolf/pure mode chars)
EDIT EDIT:
There are 2 major themes in this thread. 1) farmers/cheaters and broken economis/bought items, and 2) the pure mode / lonewolf concept.
I doubt D3 will be cheat free. But I'm still going to have some characters that will trade, just for the fun of it. However, I would also want at least one of my chars to be a lonewolf, just for the official recognition that I in fact worked for all of my items for that character. (Just like having a living HC char officially recognizes the fact that you've never died once)
By having this mode, and assuming I'll be able to play with people who aren't using this mode (I don't want a mode that will split up the community), I'm not really affecting their gameplay in any major way. Pure/lonewolf mode is completely voluntary, I'm not forcing other people to stop trading just because they might be using farmed items. So why not have this option?
We got a bit sidetracked with BoEs, anti-farming measures, etc. but that's not what this thread is about.
...This reminds me a little bit of D1 when I was a legit player and would have to find legit games or could join non-legit ones. Only now you could see lonewolf/puremode-only PVP games for example...

Also, they didn't actually say TPs were out. They just hinted that the TP mechanics would change so that you can't constantly insta-tp to town to escape and heal.
The biggest problem I see is selling off inventory junk. Obviously, the devs know about this so they'll come up with something.

I'll add to that that it's also about fighting censorship. They've designed a game where you character can get ripped in half and eaten by a gigantic demon, and they probably never gave it a second thought, but they probably had to put a lot of thought into nudity.
Why is the Succubus, the most sexual demon (along with the Incubus) topless in D1 but has a bra on in D2? Same with Andy, she's technically not nude.
Because sadly, more Concerned Citizens(tm) will be worried about a little nipple than any of the violence (not that there's anything wrong with that), and game developpers like Blizzard will cower in fear and self-censor. Either that or I'm being more paranoid than usual.
But if they are going to show nudity, enough with the unrealistically huge tits already, it's been done to death.
And why not do something really innovative and show full nudity on both genders while they're at it... it's M rated right? Oh wait was it a T? crap...
If it's a Teen rating we won't see any real nudity at all
EDIT:
Hey, it really *is* a.... er... spiked phallus (ouchies! I wouldn't want to date that guy!)

Or, it could be one of the WD's spells (like on 27) and the blue shards could be something else
28: cool Line of Sight! Distant environments are visible but blurry
Whoever said that the outside looks too much like a painting, they're right when it comes to foliage... maybe they'll only have that in A1 or they'll change it... OH NOES what have I done?!?!?! *ducks under a desk*
Those tree thingies look better than I expected - but I still say they need an undead tree with lynched corpses on it, and a tree that's on fire and screaming in pain
37: Why do females always have skimpy armour?
... the skeletal minions look cool

You missed the point completely. In fact I don't quite know what you are talking about.
I've noticed this seems to happen a lot when someone posts multiple arguments/ideas in a single post - so I'll keep this simple:
If hand-held guns are in, it might be fun especially if the new Archer class comes from that Asia-inspired island and is the only char that can use it decently (with a skill tree dedicated for it).
However the downside is Diablo III will lose some of its Dark Age feel. (Except for fireworks/rockets, gunpowder is much more modern than anything else D1, D2 had.)
What is that Dark Age-y feel worth to you, the players?

That's beside the point. When I play a medieval fantasy sword-and-magic game like Diablo, I want to really feel like I'm in another world and era. Any kind of gun ruins that. Besides, the early canons were so ineffective and dangerous, what's the point other than ruining the Dark Age feel?
...Maybe rockets (modified fireworks) and large canons (for castles, large ships) would be okay.
But I fear if they introduce handguns they might introduce more advanced technology into the game, and just having guns means we'd be in a historically different timeline - I don't know what repercussions that would have

Perhaps it will be based on Feudal Japan.
They were quite possibly the only country to *ever* completely reject a newer piece of military technology that was far more superior than the current one: the Katanas the Samurai were using at the time (During the European middle ages... but Japan was in their feudal Samurai age, basically a glorified dark age).
:offtopic::offtopic::offtopic::offtopic::offtopic:
When the Samurai and their warlords (I can't remember the specific terminology) realised a few poor peasants with rifles could kill upper-caste, elite samurai that had been trained for a lifetime wielding the best swords ever forged, without even having a chance to get up close and kill their opponents, and that these peasants could easily overthrow them, they managed, despite everyone trying to invade each other and become shogun, to collectively agree to slowly regulate out the manufacturing and selling of guns as well as firearms training.
Cannons and guns became useless as no one knew how to use them. (Despite their being of extremely high quality - guns that were crafted in the 16th century were used in the early 20th century with little modification)

But perhaps they were talking about the health orbs - health orbs would make more sense than allowing players to accumulate a high amount of leech, since that would be unfair to those who do not gear themselves with leech (it would suck if everyone HAD to get life leech), or have less leech. So Health Orbs would be better
That's what Warmth is for... but I don't know what the WD will use.. perhaps he will be able to suck the mana out of opponents...
Maybe that's what Soul Harvest does

Yes me too when I first bought the game... I spent a whole summer playing it before weening myself out of it. (But being a newbie, I'd mess up my first few characters) And I've always liked the story behind Diablo.
But I still think D2 / LoD is the worst of the Blizzard games... the worst of the best.
Then again, WoW is pay-for-play, if you factor that in, technically that makes it the worst IMO
