Mar 29, 2009Lachdonan posted a message on Blizzard and Microsoft Xbox?If the games from Blizz are both console and PC then I will of course stick with PC...I have one already, and I usually upgrade it for gaming anyway. No sense in buying something when I have something I like just as much to play games. However, if the games are console only(which I highly doubt will happen) then I will move on to some other type of PC game. I have nothing against consoles, I just don't see any sense in throwing away my money on something that will cause me to break up the limited amount of time I have to play video games between 2 systems just because games are console only.Posted in: News

Dec 11, 2008Lachdonan posted a message on Diablo III Website Animation UpdatesPosted in: NewsQuote from "scarcoke" »Great work!
So here's my thought after seeing this change:
It is quite obvious to all the Tyrael will play a very important role in the storyline of D3. But what if the Tyrael we all know so far (in terms of character and appearance) is not going to be the same with the one Blizzard will introduce in their new game?
A fellow fan posted some weeks ago a thread mentioning the idea that Tyrael will come back to D3 as some kind of possesed demon, losing his role as mentor and guide but becoming an entity of the same demonic character that he has been trying to fight for so many aeons.
So maybe Blizzard will once in a while update Tyraels appearance on the official website showing to us LIVE the slow tranformation that he is undergoing, in order to reach full potential in D3.
The first image Blizzard posted when they unveiled this site showed Tyrael the way we left him at the World Stone. Now, by changing the wings, obviously making them more mean, dark and aggresive (they actually look like those ghostly figures you could encounter in Kurast jungle and Bazaar...cant remember their name now) it looks like we are witnessing a complete remade of Tyrael right infront of our eyes.
By the time the tranformation is ready, D3 will be ready for launch!
I agree completely that this is showing a transformation from good to bad. But something that bothers me, especially since my memory is a bit off right now, did Blizz actually come out and say that the angel on the website is Tyrael? If someone could clarify that would be great.
For some odd reason I do not remember hearing that it was officially said to be Tyrael, it just looks like him. But then again there was another angel in D2, cant remember his name, the guy next to the last waypoint in Act 4. He kinda looks like Tyrael, except dead. So maybe the angel on the website is really Imperius and they are showing his transition to a fallen angel. Also you really cant see the angels chest on the website, and I remember reading a discussion about Imperius having some kind of special cross on his chest, so maybe Blizz does not want to reveal that its Imperius.
If anyone can clarify about Tyrael then I can get this stupid idea out of my head. I am just rambling now. -

I think this forum is way better than the B.nett forums.. this is much better and mature forum with bigger contents..
Anyway thx for the news.
Like everyone else here, we all want more answers to our questions. However, if Bashiok or anyone else from Blizz were to post outside the B.net forums, for example in these forums, then you would eventually get people who are not 'mature' flooding into these forums. Better they stay in the B.net forums. Plus Blizzcon is right around the corner. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I do have to say I am enjoying running through the game though. I only play around 2 hours every other day, if that, and I tend to swap between the 3 classes a bunch trying to go through the game with all 3 at the same time. I have a really good feeling that once I run through the game 1 time I will not be playing it again. So I am getting as much out of it as possible.
If you got it on Steam for $5 like I did then it is well worth it. Just don't expect a game that will allow for replayability.

This will allow for diversity in item choices. Uniques and Rares should be very powerful by themselves but sets should have the ability to be as powerful except in a different kind of way by having to wear the multiple pieces.
I also think there should be some Sets that scale with level. One thing I really hated in D2 was that you would find a shitty low level set piece when you are level 60+. I haven't payed D2 in so long, but that's how I remember it being.

My guess is that the female monk will be released February 1st or maybe a day or so after.

As for skill leveling / skill studying, I assume one of these is based on the way you level skills in WOW and the other would be that you have to use the skill in order to level it up. The WOW based skill system is nice, but I would want something different for D3. Leveling up a skill by using it will cause way too much grinding I think, or it will lead to you only leveling up a couple of skills to get you through the game which becomes D2 in the sense that only a handful of skills are useful.

Right now Blizz wants to make each class unique, and to me the Knight class(or paladin from D2) is too much of a best of both worlds type of class. It has a little bit of everything which makes it less unique and more boring to play, atleast for me anyway.

Well crossing gaps was just an example, however, Bashiok also mentioned(though I did not quote that part) that they are looking at certain types of skills such as mobility skills that won't give one class more of an advantage at doing something better than another in certain situations.
This makes me think that Blizz is going to give every class a type of ability to cross gaps, be it in different kinds of ways and with different pros and cons to those abilities. I mean just think if you were playing with a friend who was a Wizard or Barb and they just tele or jump over a gap in the bridge and start fighting mobs on the other side, but you as the Witch Doc(who at this current time doesnt have an ability to allow them to cross the gap) has to go down and around using ladders and such. Personally I would feel a bit annoyed that I didn't have an ability like that.
I dont want my character to feel inferior to any other character, and as long as the abilities that allow each class to overcome that obsticale are unique to that character, I am perfectly fine with that.

Would ungodly speed allow him to cross gaps in bridges though? I guess if he is moving so fast it is like he is walking on air or something. I like the idea of a kind of curse that he puts on himself. Something that will give him this mobility for a short time but at the cost of losing something else.
