Mar 29, 2009Lachdonan posted a message on Blizzard and Microsoft Xbox?If the games from Blizz are both console and PC then I will of course stick with PC...I have one already, and I usually upgrade it for gaming anyway. No sense in buying something when I have something I like just as much to play games. However, if the games are console only(which I highly doubt will happen) then I will move on to some other type of PC game. I have nothing against consoles, I just don't see any sense in throwing away my money on something that will cause me to break up the limited amount of time I have to play video games between 2 systems just because games are console only.Posted in: News

Dec 11, 2008Lachdonan posted a message on Diablo III Website Animation UpdatesPosted in: NewsQuote from "scarcoke" »Great work!
So here's my thought after seeing this change:
It is quite obvious to all the Tyrael will play a very important role in the storyline of D3. But what if the Tyrael we all know so far (in terms of character and appearance) is not going to be the same with the one Blizzard will introduce in their new game?
A fellow fan posted some weeks ago a thread mentioning the idea that Tyrael will come back to D3 as some kind of possesed demon, losing his role as mentor and guide but becoming an entity of the same demonic character that he has been trying to fight for so many aeons.
So maybe Blizzard will once in a while update Tyraels appearance on the official website showing to us LIVE the slow tranformation that he is undergoing, in order to reach full potential in D3.
The first image Blizzard posted when they unveiled this site showed Tyrael the way we left him at the World Stone. Now, by changing the wings, obviously making them more mean, dark and aggresive (they actually look like those ghostly figures you could encounter in Kurast jungle and Bazaar...cant remember their name now) it looks like we are witnessing a complete remade of Tyrael right infront of our eyes.
By the time the tranformation is ready, D3 will be ready for launch!
I agree completely that this is showing a transformation from good to bad. But something that bothers me, especially since my memory is a bit off right now, did Blizz actually come out and say that the angel on the website is Tyrael? If someone could clarify that would be great.
For some odd reason I do not remember hearing that it was officially said to be Tyrael, it just looks like him. But then again there was another angel in D2, cant remember his name, the guy next to the last waypoint in Act 4. He kinda looks like Tyrael, except dead. So maybe the angel on the website is really Imperius and they are showing his transition to a fallen angel. Also you really cant see the angels chest on the website, and I remember reading a discussion about Imperius having some kind of special cross on his chest, so maybe Blizz does not want to reveal that its Imperius.
If anyone can clarify about Tyrael then I can get this stupid idea out of my head. I am just rambling now. -

I think this forum is way better than the B.nett forums.. this is much better and mature forum with bigger contents..
Anyway thx for the news.
Like everyone else here, we all want more answers to our questions. However, if Bashiok or anyone else from Blizz were to post outside the B.net forums, for example in these forums, then you would eventually get people who are not 'mature' flooding into these forums. Better they stay in the B.net forums. Plus Blizzcon is right around the corner. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

As for the Witch Doc I am very interested to see what they come up with. I think it is going to be some kind of Spirit World type ability where the Witch Doc will turn into a type of spirit/ghost that has a hovering effect too it so he can hover over these gaps. He will not be immune to dmg though, he will just take less dmg from melee type attacks.
What does everyone else think the Witch Docs mobility skill will be?

Well I am not for LAN and I am not against it, I see the pros and cons of both. As for your 4 points however:
1) We have no idea how the new Battle Net 2.0 is going to work and I highly doubt Blizz is going to keep the 30 day no use policy especially since everyone is going to have to get a Battle Net Account which is going to look over all of Blizzards games, not just Diablo 3 so they can't possibly wipe anything out.
2) No one ever said you have to play with people online that are not your real life friends, and there were already ways of keeping people you do not want to join your game out of your game by password protecting it. And if your real life friends do not play, you can probably find a guild with people who have the same game play ideals as you do.
3) LAN: the two reasons I keep seeing for people wanting LAN is because their internet sucks(ok valid reason, and probably the only reason I see as being worthy of mentioning) and the second is to be sociable. Now if your internet is pretty decent and the only reason you want LAN is so you can talk to your friends, I would just like to point out the wide assortment of programs like Ventrillo and TeamSpeak that people can use to talk to each other over the internet while they play a game. Plus Blizz will probably have something like one of these programs directly built into Battle Net 2.0(they already have it for WoW) and that one will be free.
4) Everyone has to deal with this happening to them, not just yourself. I have had many instances where my cable would go out for days(yes days) it sucks and I know how you feel.

I completely agree with you that Blizz wants us to press on and fight constantly. However, to make us run into a fight with only 10 life is more of a penalty than a reward I think because there were no health orbs dropped and we do not have a health pot or it is on cooldown. I firmly believe there will be one more healing type option for us to counter those rare occurances of no health orbs and no health pots/pots on cooldown. I have no idea what it could be though.

I don't really think this will fit the fast paced game mechanic. I am not sure how you think it would be implemented, but to me is sounds like you will need to rest for a certain period of time in order to get the increased regen. If you are thinking of a different way it could be implemented to be more fast paced, please tell.

Well if the fight with King Leoric from the blizzcon game play is any indication of boss fights then I would expect every boss fight to take place in a confined room/area and the only way out is kill or be killed. No resetting the boss by running away As for regular trash mobs, I am guessing there is no way around keeping a player from running away in a fight.
Edit: Plus, boss fights should not only be awesome fights with good loot rewards but they should also dictate whether a players character is good enough to move on to the next part of the game. It is pretty lame in D2 that you can just do hit and runs on the bosses to move on through the acts.

The solution I thought of is for every player to have a so called orb pot(not sure what you would call it), and when a player is at full health and you pick up a health orb, a percentage of the health that the orb would heal would then go into the orb pot. So the more orbs you collect at full health the more the pot would fill up. However, you would only have 1 of these pots that you can refill once used and you can only use it when you are not in combat.
I think this would take care of those rare situations I described above.

Yeah but then they wouldn't be able to sell people both a computer and a computer which they just happen to call a console. If People are stupid enough to buy both so why not make more money right?
