Jan 18, 2010Psyxix posted a message on New Forum Feature: Experience the ExperienceI don't see what all the fuss is about when it comes to posting. I think that every post you make must be relevant and have meaning... if you're rushed in a spamming competition with other people it will only contribute in creating a global chaotic forum. So, that being said, if you have 1,500 posts but only 200 really bring anything new or interesting or at least thoughtful... you're as bad as anyone having 200-300 active posts. Therefore the system is obsolete and it may be a good way to encorage people to contribute in the forum's discutions, but it's a bad way to promote a healthy, interesting community. I'm not saying that Dfans is a bad/uninteresting place, I'm just saying that the whole ranking system is really there to satisfy those who need attention and nothing else. Seriously, I was fine with the old system of titles... now this is just ... too much =-/. Anyway, I'm pretty tired right now so might as well say anything that passes throught my mind, I might change sides tomorow, who knows?Posted in: News

Jan 18, 2010Psyxix posted a message on New Forum Feature: Experience the Experienceha ha I can't say I am the most active person around here that's for sure ! Nevertheless I like the system and I think that it will be good for the community. I don't get the :"points needed" thing I have to admit.Posted in: News
I have to say, -bars- is not fun to look at. Especially not these, I'd rather just have the numbers than bars, which tells me absolutely nothing. Its hard to compare from bars like that.
I have to agree with you on that one. Those bars are intrusive and mean nothing without numbers attached to them. I'm pretty sure that there is a way to reduce their size and make them less apparent. When I look at a message the thing I see first are those annoying bars. White on black is too much of a contrast to give a discrete interface. Also, I would prefer medals or a kind of significant symbol to go with the award that would really be cool. -

Dec 8, 2009Psyxix posted a message on #7 According to DestructoidThis only shows how bad taste can ruin a list. I would have included bioshock in the top 20 games. D2 in the top 3, I see games as a package so d2 also comes with d1. Where the fudge is mass effect?Posted in: News

More importantly, I would like Sixen to come forth and discuss this aspect of the game that was, in my humble opinion, neglected from the original report. I'm talking here about the cinematic and the game.

You have a great point here, something I haven't given thought to. It could also mean more value from an act of generosity. I mean the guy could make $$$ but instead finds it in his heart to give it instead. Still between friends, this doesn't affect me from giving. With strangers, i'll probably think twice ... unlike what I used to do.

I like restarting my characters to have different types of sorc, necro, pal. It makes me feel like a builder, constructing a toolset of characters ready to deal with different situations. With the current skill system, I only need 1 monk, 1 wiz, 1 of each to have my toolset. I mean this could be a good thing, but it all depends on the end game content. With the D2 system, you end the game and you're like :" Alright now that I made my teleporting monk build, time to make myself a nice Demon Hunter trapper". Now with the new D3 system, when you're done with your character, you can go for male or female but the builds and mechanics will essentially be the same. In the end, it's hard to say anything about all this without playing the actual game, being a classic D2 player and vet, I instinctively resist the change made to core mechanics of my beloved game.
It's sad, but I understand that it may be for the best, it's like cutting your hand because it was bitten by a diamond back rattlesnake. You don't want to do it but it has to be done!
For the trading system... I don't care. Let those cakefaces spend their money in a game they just bought 50$ (wow spending money to spend money... how ... Irconicaly moronic) while I have fun killing demons and whatnot. If they get good gear by doing that, let them, more power to the stupid. With the automatch system, they will fight equally stupid people and I will be there killing monsters and having fun enjoying the contents of my game. Seriously, you can't fix stupid, so just make a system for them and i'll even be able to profit from it. In the end, everyone is happy, I know I am.

Every\Any security can be breached with time, a LAN feature will be available one day so I'm not worried about it. THing is, it still pisses me off when they decide to make us suffer without any real reason. People who wanted to buy the game bought it, others instead pirated. D2 made gang busters and it had LAN, I don't get what changed since then?
WHat? Aren't we responsible enough now that you have to babysit us? Anyway, they are just adding gas to an already lit fire if you want my opinion. In the end, it won't change a thing except scrap a classic feature in an original title away from loyal fans, good job.... whoever had that brilliant idea.

Why are people saying that? We have heard nothing or next to nothing about the lore of each character. Except the usual: this char does that and he comes from here. The necromancers have D2 books attached to them and a well established lore within the diablo universe. So you're right when you say he lacks lore, but it's because he's new in town and you haven't played the guy to feel like a proper Witch Doctor, the experience will probably change you ^_^.

I trust them for making a good game, what I would hate to see is a bad business plan. I personally don't think they can impose a pay to play simply because D3 is not that kind of game. Lets just wait and see 0_0.

Damn Damn Damn >.<!!! Why can't they see the light and realise I wanna play at home in a LAN dangit!
Seriously, I thought it was true for SCII but I've never seen it for D3. Ho well :'(.

- Diablo 3 has become pay to play
- Armors and weapons are now bound on equip
- Dye system has been scrapped
- Hardcore mode has been toned down to please the crowd... the penalty is not death but more gold and items
- Max number of players in a game is now 2-3
- Wizard now has mana instead of Arcane Power (thanks Wingless)
- No shared stash
- Release in 2012 2nd Quarter
- Some gay WoW function imported into D3
- No LAN feature for D3
I'm pretty sure that we're about to see hell on earth, August 1st... for the better or worst.

Please Please, stop the grammar wars. Using that as an argument to dismiss someone else's opinion is like saying that my mama's lasagna is better than yours (...although I'm pretty sure that's true Hmmmm lasagna :P). Anyway, I do not agree with you on the matter of loot, there shouldn't be more loot when in a party since .... the supplementary is already provided because you are now gaining items for yourself. For exemple, I get 1 armor when I kill a guy alone. NOw you come along and help me kill this other dude, I get 1 armor, you get 1 armor. In the loot system that makes 2 armors dropped, this seems like the drops increased when you joined the game. It's just the way you see it that differs.
