    The way I see the marauder.... he is similar to a wild beast with human intelligence. He can morph into animals and get aid from spiritual guides that enables him to enhance his strength, agility and speed. He is all about nature, he has a strong connection with the American Indian culture and the Russian culture. He is in other words a survivor, not a pure combatant. His best weapons are his finesse and dexterity to control his surrounding environment. With the marauder, you can chose 2 distinct paths. You either invest into close combat techniques/spells and become an enraged wild beast or you chose to become a pure ranged scavenger which kills using numerous ranged weapon (bows, crosbows, thrown daggers, harpons ...). You can also choose to be both. There will be no traps involved as it slows the game too much. D3 is supposed to be even faster than D2 so I guess that anything that demands preparation needs to be put away.

    So. If I can put some cultures/regions for each character according to what I currently know :

    Barbarian = Irish, Celtic
    Witch Doctor = Haiti, Africa
    Wizard= Asia
    Zealot = Middle East
    Marauder = America (American Indian part) and Russia (endured and physical warrior part)

    We need a priest of some sort. Someone that stands on absolute divinity. A martial artist was pretty cool (assassin) so maybe have a monk/fighter be incorporated.

    Ya I feel the same way. My two guesses would be :

    1. Zealot :Agile swordsman and devoted religious beings, the Zealot preaches on good and vows to destroy evil no matter the cost. He's a trained demon slayer and specializes in light/dark energies. Unlike the paladin, most of his attacks will bring torture and pain to his adversaries. He also possesses the powers to imbue his weapons and enchant his equipment during religious rituals. Unlike the paladin, the Zealot is the kind of character that enjoys to impute the most terrible death on wicked beings. His skills : swordsmanship/shield mastery, Holy protection, Damned magic

    2. Marauder: Mix between archer/druid/assassin. Comes from the northern regions, he used to participate in fierce raids against helpless villages. He used to live in a "pack" but decided he had enough of killing and slaughtering, so he went "lone wolf". He learned to count on his inner animals to survive on his own, on his bow and small swords to attack his preys and on combat techniques to overcome any foe may it be little girls, women, men or demons ...

    I'm just shooting these two as my most probable guesses. The back story is just a start idea and my attempt to fit them into the D3 story.

    Edit : with these two it would make : Barbarian, Witch Doctor, Wizard, Zealot, Marauder.

    Point is, you and so many others' arguments are based on opinion, conjecture, and basically not knowing the facts, not to mention spurious logic.

    You try to compare Steam to it, then when you fail, instead of admitting you're wrong, drag out the point by stating things like the above.

    You are wrong, deal with it.

    What's your problem Kaleban?

    Almost everything to this point is subject to speculation and personnal opinion. We don't know 1/4 of Diablo 3 and people Will make these kinds of statements. If you didn't notice, MurderFace was trying to make conversation with you, giving Good/Bad ideas is the point here. Apparently you're not intelligent enough to realise that and dumb enough to flame him over a small detail. If you know more than him about Steam and the servers, why not share this incredible knowledge of yours with us?
    You're wrong....so wrong man. The only conclusion I can get from what you said is that you're having your period and that you're super pissed off at everybody because of it.

    Outraged? I mean it's not a big deal ... I stopped caring about this kind of stuff since the first art direction petition. Hey I mean... I don't know if you guys realised it but this is a game ¬_¬. I won't say the classic :" if you don't like it ,well don't play it/go play something else" cause I think it's disrespectfull and outerly degrading but everything has to change and even tho you may not agree, it's for the better or the worst of the product. When you think about it, and this applies to almost everything, you can't judge something you never ever tried. You would be stupid to refuse this thing just because you made some crazy supposition and that you fervently believe in it. Not only are you people criticizing a 19 minute gameplay movie but also demantling an ingenious attempt to innovate a game system that obviously needed it.

    I feel bad for you guys that write all these posts about the fact that the diablo universe changed because of the new Diablo 3. Wow the amount of stress and rage I see.... it's really not worth the time and effort. Hey, if you wanna get the rage out, why don't you go run outside, puch some guy on the street, even meditate... works with my grand-ma :D. By the way, about that realism thing. I won't stress this out enough... this is a game damnit. It's entertainment, food for the mind. Everything you see is not real and never existed.

    The cartoonish style of Diablo 3 was a choice and the creativity/energy that was put into it is what makes it a unique piece of art. Some people like it and some don't but everyone will agree that every creation that pushes the limits must get recongnition for it's innovation. If diablo 3 fails to do so, I don't see why I should feel bad or be outraged about it. It failed.... it failed, just move to something else.

    Boy this is a long post ... :S. Anyway, I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents.

    Hmmm, I know that it's a little late to ask but... Corwyn, I was wondering if you still had the actual project file for the picture you made. Its just that I was really impressed by all the details of the render and I wondered how you did it all.

    Ho and I also forgot ... what program did you use? I'm used to 3DS Max so if that's the thing you used it would be swell but other types like maya ... are still cool with me.
    Thanx a lot and keep up the good work mate :).
