Before 1.0.4 I thought Inferno was too hard and was fighting my way through it just having reached ACT 3. Suddenly in 1.0.4 I could solo the whole Inferno by myself or faceroll it with a equivalent melee partner.

Now you say it is too difficult right now?

Inferno is the new Hell, Normal is the new Practice Mode.

I'd like to see those "not mandatory defensive stats" on items also, because if you want to survive right now you almost must have a high AR in every piece of armor you can along with high main stat and high vit. Otherwhise you won't survive or do any damage.

Anyone else feels they should be paying more attention to farming spots and they are not?

Right now it is almost undisputed that the most efficient place to farm is ACT 3 craters and towers. This is feeling so boring that I open the game, think about farming the same spot, and give up playing it. And I don't want to farm anywhere else that will take forever to earn the same XP or having a lot less chance of getting good drops.

posted a message on Max Rank of Each Two-Handed Affix, Diablo III European Launch Events Video, Contest Winners, Paragon System Poll
    This doesn't make sense:
    • Min Damage has 14 ranks: [+37 - 46 Minimum Damage]
    • Max Damage has 14 ranks: [+37 - 46 Maximum Damage]
    • Min / Max Damage has 14 ranks: [+200 - 400 Minimum Damage] [+267 - 533 Maximum Damage]
Why have a +37-46 Min or Max damage if the Min / Max damage affix is 200-400 267-533?
That's what make so many weapons crappy, you can waste 2 affixes with these deal breakers while one affix would be 10 times better than those two combined in any weapon?

All these old necro's skills in legendaries procs makes me think that they plan to add the Necromancer in a expansion, so they are not just doing "procs", they are doing work in advance to the new class. :)

Frozen Orb might be just a new Wizard skill as having the wizard AND the Sorcerer wouldn't make much sense.

I ever wondered how DFans get these unnoficial patch notes before the patch is out...

Anyway, the new endgame system was targeted for 1.1, wasn't it? I hope these Paragon stuff are not just the strings so the next patch will only enable the system.

I really think it would be strange for Blizzard releasing a whole new mechanic without even announcing it first, as we have already had an announcement for an announcement for the announcement of this patch 1.0.4 notes before, so they pretty much like to announce everything they can to build hype.

Yeah, I know of the slip on the brazillian forums (I'm brazillian by the way). Hope Rhastion didn't have any trouble by posting too much in the translation. :)

But officially it hasn't been any announcement of these new levels. I think they would rather build a hype first than release it than making it a surprise.

So, they are announcing 1 trillion buffs and one single nerf and people still complain about the nerf?

The game is probably getting so easy that Inferno will look like Hell with all those buffs to characters and nerfs to monsters. You really want to complain about a nerf to a incredibly easy to make freeze-locking build?

posted a message on Developer Blog - 1.0.4 Systems Preview
I agree that most of the systems needed changes. The gap between white and champion/elites were really too high. In Inferno you could faceroll hundreds of whites and not be able to kill a single champion. The co-op was punishing, some skills didn't appeal, items were bad and so on.

But nerfing monsters and buffing skills/items/MF will just make the game too easy, isn't it?

posted a message on Massive Amounts of 1.0.4 Information on Its Way, Showing Off That Profile, Blue Posts, Win Awesome Prizes with Blizzard
Blizzard is getting expert level in building expectations. They are anouncing a blog post soon to announce some patch notes not-so-soon to annouce a patch late-soon and making a show of it.

Sometimes I get tired of all this "let's make everything a show" policy. The user profiles are nice, I was expecting them for a long time, but it should be out when the game was out. It's not even complete yet, it doesnt show achievements, neither it does change your avatar in forums. So why are they making such an "event" of it?

I'm really looking forward to 1.0.4, I think it will be one of those patches that made everyone get back to playing D2 once in a while. Because many haters may not remember, but D2 was just the same as D3. Everyone played for a few months, stopped and got back after a new patch/expansion.

why aren't we getting lots of small hotfixes to improve minor things in the game at nearly the same speed as when they hotfix bugs?

    horrible patching policy

Because bugs are far more emergencial than balance fixes and need a lot less testing.

The AH is pretty much the same in seconds/minutes. Stop staring at the AH thinking it is something evil that makes people spend money instead of farming, it is just a trade facilitator.
This is exactly my point, isn't it? People claim to have loved playing D2 forever trying to get good items. And now that you can get them instantly - people are now in the forums saying "D3 won't last." Go figure. You're making my point for me. If that's your goal, great. Both cannot be true - you cannot both love the item hunt and then pay to complete the game so quickly.

You are just begging for a worse trading interface? I don't get it.

You don't get the items instantly, you get the gold to get items. Someone got those items from drops. If everyone just got the items for no work there would be no items. You can get many of the items the video-owner did buy in the AH the time you reach Inferno (at least comparable items) and the ones that wouldn't be good for you you would just sell in the AH for gold to buy the others. This is still grinding, updating your gear and trading. And for better gear (and killing monsters more efficiently) you will have to farm more, get better items, sell them for more gold in the AH so you can buy better gear.

This is perfect, is everything everyone playing D2 ever wanted. It was very sad to keep farming until you could get one of the best items so you could start trading for gear for progressing. The AH just brought trading for EVERY level.

But you still have to farm to use it. You farm itens, gold and your own gear. Then you sell good gear you don't use and buy good gear you want to use. But you won't get frustrated because you got a very good upgrade for your level in Nightmare, but it has Int instead of Dex.

    Quote from lorien1973

It's not impressive at all. That's the point. Any idiot can go to the auction house, go "max buyout 40k" and reverse sort the buyouts lowest to highest and find adequate gear. I mean; if that's the game for some people. Great. But all it really does is highlight the biggest problem in the game. Which is:

If any idiot can do it, why people whine on the forums saying that the act 2 Inferno on is impossible?

The easy access to good loot via the AH has pushed the loot curve forward; making the act of finding items meaningless. The game may as well not drop loot at all. It's just garbage collection for gold to be used to purchase an upgrade at a vendor. Which is really what this is, isn't it? The AH is just a vendor in town where you buy loot to upgrade. Progression isn't about skill or effort. It's about how much money you've invested. Hell, may as give players "valor points" for each boss they kill and let each upgrade cost 500 valor points at the in-town vendor for items. Guess that cuts too close to WoW; but that's really what it is, isn't it?

This is diablo. You kill LOTS of monster to get very little good loot. It has always been this way. That's what make every upgrade so special. It was just like this in D1 and even more in D2. Anyone can farm and find good items so they can trade for other good items.

And I was a fan of the AH before this game was released. But it's 100% retarded that your only time-wise good path to upgrade is by the AH.

Remember, before (and early on!) this game was released; it was all about time investment and how long it'll take to get good gear before clearing inferno. How many Act 1/2 runs will I need? Then, it was about how much gold can I purchase from gold farmers to progress. Now, it's about how can I clear Act 1/2 on a budget? Really? Really?

Yes. How many Act 1/2 runs you need to find items or gold so you can progress? Just like before. You are missing the point.

I never played D2, but I've understood that more time played meant you'd eventually get really good items. D3 means the more gold/cash you've invested means you'll get really good items. While I'm not a huge fan of D2-nostalgia; it seems like a better method.
In D2 the more time you played you'd eventually get good items that chances are they wouldn't be good for your class. So you would spend hours/days/weeks farming trading games and forums so you could trade them for some gear for you. The AH is pretty much the same in seconds/minutes. Stop staring at the AH thinking it is something evil that makes people spend money instead of farming, it is just a trade facilitator.
