Quote fromAnd so Blizzard's downfall begins. Soon they'll be making MMOs like Spore or The Sims, you know games with "broader appeal"
Exactly. IMO, series like Warcraft and Starcraft already have a broad appeal. I can understand Diablo being darker and gritter and therefore having a smaller audience. But geez...

I cant think of anything to say besides almost everything in this post is wrong. The only thing you hit on the head is that the engine is 100% done. The rest.. /sigh

And when it really comes down to it, they all just become a bloody mess in the end.

One of the reasons I stopped playing WoW (besides the huge time commitment) is relying on other people to do what I want. If I wanted to do an instance, I needed other people. I want to be able to do whatever I want whenever I want in D3.

This still has nothing to do with stash size. Drop chance is the only factor in determining an item's value. Once again, bots would lose at most 20 to 40 minutes a day of farming time if the user had to do some muling. We're not talking about unlimited inventory, we're talking about stash, which still involves going back to town and sorting items, etc.
That's still just over 23 hours of farming a day by a single bot. I just don't understand how you could think that little bit of extra farming time is going to flood the market and destroy it.

I wouldn't make different trees to improve different guardians though. Just make one tab for Guardians and you could select either melee, caster or ranged abilities for them. All guardians should act the same way. If they didn't then you'd have certain guardians more powerful than others and I would find that annoying.
I also not too sure about gearing them either. I think just skill trees should be enough.

I was going to say... as long as there is a skill called "Bombs over Baghdad."... but you've ruined my fun now..

Exactly. There's still an alpha and a beta to come after they are "done."
And honestly, I doubt they are even 60% done at this point. Probably closer to 40%.
My hopes - Late 2010 release.
More realistically - Mid 2011 release.
Actual Release - Late 2011 (Blizz moves at two speeds - slow and stop)

Was there really a limit to how much you could carry in D2? No. It just took more effort to do so.
That and drop chance is what controls the economy, not stash size. If a bot was collecting uniques for days, stash size would have very little impact on it's ability to do so. What.. the person controlling the bot would have to ensure it's inventory wasn't full twice a day or so? At most that cuts 20 minutes of botting out for rearranging inventory and muling.. No impact on economy whatsoever.
Like I said before, once you start designing a game around hindering bots, not helping players, you take away things that should be designed around improving regular players' gaming experiences.
Blizz will have ways to reduce botting as is. Why make it a pain in the ass for me to store things because other people are cheaters?

Meh. How rewarding was it really? Only when you first started playing the game. Once you got to a decent level, bags were an afterthought. You got 4 of the best bag you could get and moved on.
Sure, there was occasionally a random bag that was not easily attainable that you might come across. But it wasn't anything special.
When I stopped playing WoW, it was before the most recent expansion and I had 2 20 slotters and 2 18 slotters. I couldn't have cared less about the two smaller bags. If I got an upgrade, great. If I didn't, whatev.

+1 Definitely sounds like something that could be exploited.
