posted a message on I want your opinions on video games. For science!

    Interesting!

I took the test and would like to share some opinions:

    1. The result was partly wrong.

    - Clan Lord: It's not often I play games because of social interaction. I mostly do social interaction because it makes me progress faster or helps me in some way. It's more convenient.

    - Immersion Engineer: This one hit home if it wasn't for the last part. I tend to not let go of games while trying others. I alternate between them. I was sure that would be clear from some questions (sadly I forgot which -.-)

    2. There was one question if I feel down when not playing or something. I do, but not because I'm not playing. Those questions had other answers than presented.

posted a message on Endgame is boring HC isn't a challenge

What seems to be the issue? You think the endgame is boring and not challenging? Maybe you should look to see how far you can go with a self made build? Polish it and push? You could always look for another game because to me it sounds as if you don't like the game. Also, if you're rank 30 now, then you'll be way, way down when the season ends. Top 30 now and stopping is like having a good start in Mario Cart and then just say you're done without finishing the race.

I'm so curious though. What is so good about D2 compared to D3 endgame wise? They both have the grind and while D3 have greater rifts, D2 has Baal runs for days? What do you do in endgame D2? I've been playing D2 like you play D3, never to it's fullest so I would not know. Please enlighten me!

    God damn necro...

posted a message on New Diablo in 2019?

Sure, D4 or something could come but an Overwatch 2 in 2020? Why? Enlighten me, what possible reason for it could exist? They have loads of room for new characters in the current Overwatch, or maps for that matter. The graphic design seems timeless-y. I don't get the thought process behind it.

posted a message on Monk Death Breath farming build

Yo, anyone on a good starter Sage farming build? Was thinking 5p innas + 2p sage. Maybe a WoL build works, though you won't be able to benefit from the spirit stone helm which gives +125% WoL damage since sage take 1 spot from Sunwuko and the spiritstone takes another. Any suggestions?

Main goal would be to be fast and with early gear, far from optimal.

This is what I thought of: https://www.d3planner.com/881196358

Damn son! That's impressive. Only thing that really irritates me is your huge overlay which covers the fourth party member. I assume it's a necro but you all move so much and fast so it's hard to tell from just watching whatever char's on the screen doing stuff.

Neat! Will that be enough for the coming 3-4 days? I've done a stew of vegetables, pre-cooked pasta and have yoghurt and müsli stocked. I am prepared for 4-5 days, I'd think!

    Quote from rhaepso»

it doesn't, but archon snapshots your stats when entering, so any damage reduce you have when activating archon will stay for the whole duration of it. It's why you see a lot of wizards on the leaderboard with aether walker and ancient parthan defenders, you can teleport into a group of enemies, force a lot of stunds (and thus damage reduction of the bracers) and keep that damage reduction for the archon.

Which also mean the 10% AS increase form Slow Time will be active the whole Archon duration, yeah? Very useful info either way!

    Damn, nice!

I don't farm for gobs/shrines but I've only gotten 1 so far, since they were introduced :P Seen like 2-3 happen in bounty games without me being there. Same with the menagerie goblin! Damn evasive pricks.

If Calamity on Teleport would work with Archon Teleport then you'd have 2 stacks of Tal Rasha when in Archon form, which I've not noticed so I don't think standard Teleport runes effect Archon Teleport. Slow time, I don't know about.

posted a message on Class specific forums kinda dead?

So comical that I just posted in the wizard forum :P

What I've noticed over time both as a forum lurker and as a developer/admin on a small online game is that most people don't say anything. They don't post their opinions or questions on forums. They just play the game. It's not because they're bad or have problems with words but rather they don't want to/have no interest in it. Though when asked in private they might be very helpful.

As Bagstone said, they're focusing more on the casual side which in hand might reduce people willing to debate in forums, at least when it comes to builds and theorycrafting.

posted a message on Help me understand Archon MH/Tal

I'm rolling with the standard archon vyr/tal with mandal and lightning damage but I'm curious if I've understood the basics of this build. When do I do damage? It feel so inconsistent. Most of the time I do zero damage, things with 10% hp (gr75) just won't go down if I don't channel lightning right at them for several seconds. Then I come to an elite and they get oneshoted. Is this how the build works? Is it only in the paralysis window I do any and all my damage?

I'm also curious if the channel lightning beam when in archon is hard to hit with? At least it feels as if the reach is WAY longer than it's animation. Would be grateful for any help to understand basics :)

Any guides on the best builds to get GR70 as fast as possible? As in builds that don't require as much / as perfect gear and low paragon.

Don't know what low paragon is but I've done the gr70 several seasons with generator monk. I'm usually done at around para 500-600. Done with Crippling Wave: Mangle build. I'd say that is pretty ok speed?

These primals does not effect CHD, CHC, CDR etc, right? If not, that's sad imo. Most builds strive to have high numbers of those stats and it won't matter if they're ancient or primal, they'll still roll like normal items. Yey, higher sec resist and mainstat but it feels like a wasted opportunity.

    Example:
Normal rings roll up to 8% CDR, ancient up to 9-10% and Primal up to 11-12%. Just a minor increase but if you get the right rolls you could end up changing a build drastically. Three primals could let you roll attack speed instead of CDR, or drop a passive for something else.

I guess primals are fine (except for the red border, zero durability much?), they should just be tuned a bit!

I like your idea, but just for CHD and CHC since they are just mainly dmg modifiers (should also work with RCR, elemental dmg and maybe also with ATS but you know...breakpoints... so I would probably shy away from that.)
But CDR is a very very important stat for some builds (!!). I have tested so many builds with CDR and some are just lacking a few points here and there to make a build work or completely fail. If you target CDR for constant uptimes or especially for rotations it's a far too important stat.
It would make primals just mandatory and not only nice to have in certain slots (like gloves, rings, shoulders,...) Imagine you can drop obsidian ring of the zodiac for something like unity, coe, ring of royal grandeur, just because you got those few extra CDR points... way too powerful in my opinion.
certain builds in the past would have not worked if the max CDR roll would be 7%. Just sayin... it would overall make a huge difference if they would do primals with higher CDR values.
Yeah, I know it would but I think it would be good anyway. More CHD, AD won't change builds, CDR, RCR, CHC could though. It would be like LoN, some builds would require more and better gear then others. In the long run it would work like any other build. You would have to get over X CDR for it to work optimal. However, it would most likely still work with less CDR, just not as good as it could.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could drop Zodiac for something else and would that be so bad? You'd have to progress for it, grind more gear and eventually you can roll with that Krede's Flame you always wanted to implement in your build! I get your point with something being mandatory which is harder to get then just some gear piece and I understand that 3 primal CDR items could be what is needed for you to change build completely into something much more effective. I still think it's what Diablo is about, improving your gear. I don't think it would matter much for leader boards though. I mean, those in the top farm so much anyway and are bound to get the items they need. It might give someone who's lucky a boost in GRLVLS but things do that anyway. Get an ancient good weapon in the beginning of a season and you'll sky rocket your progress.

My point is, it's worth trying :P use the PTR and such for it. See what happens.
